  1. Srawberries & Cream, the music, everything, I was speechless

  2. I only picked Strawberries and Cream because I couldn't choose a second option. That'd be either Pilot, His Red Right Hand, Blinking Red Light, or Red John. Honorable mentions to The Crimson Hat, The Red Barn, Fire and Brimstone and The Great Red Dragon, too. Oh, and all the other choices.
(should have been a "You can vote for as many options as you like" poll ;_; )

  3. I'm going with Strawberries and Cream & His Red Right Hand.
I still sort of regret Carter wasn't real Red John. It was kinda a perfect scene.
But I did enjoy the way the first half of this season was done, so at least there's that.

  4. Omg I can't choose!!! Strawberries&Cream and maybe...i don't know...ALL OF THEM! But I'll pick Red John

  5. Strawberries & Cream - perfect season finale and perfect reveal of (unfortunately fake) Red John and Red Blinking Light - great plot, pacing and this darkness in both Panzer and Jane

  6. In the end, I went for His Red Right Hand and Red John.

I was already hooked, but HRRH was the moment where the mythology really hit a new level and I'll never forget watching it for the first time (and 500 times since then...) The moment where Jane finds Hicks' body with the smiley as Bach plays...I still get chills every time. And the use of 'Darkening Sky'. And the conversation between Jane and Rebecca. Blake's score. Everything.

Red John for me was a perfect, incredibly well done and fitting end to the saga. I feel like they made some really sensible and wise decisions, avoiding some more outlandish ones that certain internet people would've liked, which quite frankly just wouldn't translate beyond theory sites and fanfiction. The episode was all the more fitting and effective for it. I'm really happy with who they picked for Red John, both character and actor, as the character was one of my top 2 picks from the list - and I've been a fan of Xander Berkeley for a while.

I will always disagree that Carter was a better Red John. I got the feeling of the man a lot more with McAllister. A LOT more. There's this moment in 6.08 where RJ says "Who are you to butt in here and make obnoxious judgements about me?' and he subtly puts his shoulders back and raises his head, as if to say 'how dare you talk about ME?', showing the man's ego and pride - the very reason he murdered Jane's family in the first place. McAllister completely embodied Red John there and I can find no such moment for Carter, as great a performance as it was. Of course, McAllister didn't live up to absolutely everything he'd built himself up to be - which was the point.

The rest of my top 5 would be Pilot, Blinking Red Light and Red John's Rules.

It was hard enough leaving out some eps in the poll and being limited to 19 (plus 'other') nevermind actually picking two to vote for!

  7. Seriously? "Red John" was the most dissapointing conclusion to a storyline I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing. Now the season 3 finale, that was a good one.

  8. Strawberries & Cream and Red John, these episodes obviously have the best scenes related to RJ..

  9. Seriously, because not everybody has the same opinion as you do ;)
    I liked "Red John" too.
And yes, the season 3 finale was good as well!

  10. Those are my picks too.

  11. The more I remember that epic fail RJ finale, the more I get angry...But I think 3rd season finale was the best episode...

  12. If you were dissapointed with how "Red John" ended the the story line, then nothing is going to satisfy you. I personally found it the best episode of the series..maybe not the tightest episode plot wise, but certainly the most emotional & satisfying episode of the series. Simon Baker is always at the top of his game, but his acting here was superlative. The emotion in his face while he strangled Red John just took my breath away.

  13. Red John, Crimson Hat & Strawberries and Cream. Crimson Hat was greatly underrated..possibly the episode with the best plot twist. I personally thought Jane was out when to my surprise he was actually plotting against Red John, and we get to see Lisbon's affection for the guy. Get together already will ya. Jane what are you playing at...Lisbon is gonna go away with Pike if you keep your mouth shut!

  14. Many of them are awesome, especially The Red Barn. This episode we kinda knew the age of Red John.

  15. His Red Right Hand... not only the best Red John episode, but the episode episode of the show. This was the show at it's peak.

  16. I can't speak for neis, but I was disappointed and I can try to explain why. Well, in short, it was anticlimactic and felt rushed, and it didn't answer anything. Remember the cliffhanger at the end of the previous season where Red John does this huge thing where he, long before even Jane had compiled the final list, had predicted exactly the people on the list. Remember Kristina Frye and the state that she was in when she was found... it was almost sci-fi like in the way she was convinced that she was dead and her memories of Red John so selectively erased, you just can't leave a story thread hanging like that. There are so many other things that I can't recall straight away. I expected answers but instead all of that was just undermined by Jane saying, "They're just details." This guy knew exactly what Jane was thinking even before he did, how is that *just* a minor detail? The brilliance of a story is in the details. It's in how well it explains how things happened. Without the burden of an explanation, anyone can say anything.
Red John had such a huge presence in the show, I expected to see at least a slight insight into his origins, or just his side of things when certain big moments in the show happened. For instance, the first season finale. We almost get a glimpse of him there... maybe a flashback that showed what happened there. Or what he was doing in the season 3 finale episode. Just *some* insight into what makes this guy tick. But we got nothing.
It was a good confrontation... it was a good scene and it was a good death deserving of such a character. But it didn't even come close to fulfilling the promise of this huge character that was clearly smarter than Jane and his entire team put together... that pulled off things with supernatural precision. They set something up that was, in the end, too big for them to handle.

  17. I have watched His Red Right Hand several times too. It was a great ensemble too. Everyone had something significant to do in it. It used Patrick Jane's unique memory and analytic abilities but didn't overplay it. The episode had high stakes. It delved into the past cases of Red John and added a lot to the Red John myth. Some really good twists and turns. The actor who played Rebecca delivered a haunting performance. Great music. That was the first time I heard Darkening Sky, I still have that song on my playlist. As perfect as an episode of TV can be.
