I always wondered that on every vamp show or movie ever when they have tattoo's, lol. Or any show or movie with an immortal character that has amped up healing abilities. In most cases, I just head canon that they got the tattoo before getting the healing ability. I have a hard time seeing Niklaus doing that while human though, because who in the village would have had the ability to tattoo him and I doubt Mikael would approve and human Klaus was terrified of his father. In the TVD/TO-verse maybe any post vamp tattoo's are made using vervian in the ink and kept dosing it with vervain afterwards to make sure the ink wasn't going to disappear and it heal over.
Simple he got the tattoo as a human. His skin was healed and a part of him. When he became a vampire-it just stayed. Julie Pec stated when they first saw that tattoo, they were cool. Didn't know he had one. She said hey vampires were human first.
Tatttos have been around for over a thousand years. So it is believable for me for him to have a tattoo. Personally in this picture, Klaus looks damn sexy.
Yeah but who in their shanty town village would have been able to make a tattoo that detailed? The weird diamond one on his back, yeah, but not the birds busting out of the feather. Plus, his dad would skin him alive AND we've seen human Klaus shirtless without tattoos.
I remember reading about the first time Klaus was shirtless was when he hooked up with Hayley. In an interview pertaining to the episode Julie Pec states she was surprised about the Joseph Morgan's tattoos. It wasn't a problem for the writers. Think about it, if an witch can create vampires, someone in that village was able to create an elaborate tattoo. Whatever person in the village that made it, they were very artistic. They were gifted. Are you biting on this?

Thanks for the new photo
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible for a vampire to get a tattoo? Wouldn't the body start immediately healing itself?
ReplyDeleteI take issue with that as well. It's bothered me since Season 1 of TVD when they let Stefan have a tattoo.
ReplyDeleteIf anything it would make it faster I think; you are injecting ink into the skin, and the outer layer heals over; It wouldn't heal the ink "out"
ReplyDeleteThe ink is a foreign body. If the body can pop a bullet out it would expel the ink as well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they do 'em with sharpies.
ReplyDeleteHa! Vampires with temporary tattoos. That's funny.
ReplyDeleteHe must have it using a cone while waiting for rabbits in the woods.
ReplyDeletemagic I guess ? remember Elijahs magical tattoo ?
ReplyDeleteAlso a temporary tattoo. :) That would be funny though. A witch opening a vampire tattoo shop.
ReplyDeletetrue, he should've kept the though. They looked badass
ReplyDeleteBut if it is not infectious, the body most times will heal over foreign bodies; often times the body heals over bullets.
ReplyDeleteTattoos don't really work by damaging the cells themselves, but breaking the skin to place the ink "between" capillar cells
