The situation between Jane and Lisbon has become more awkward, and I think this is just the beginning before the two realize they need to talk about them together. The first time Jane tries to call Lisbon, she's on a date with Pike, but she refuses his call. Basically because she's having a serious conversation with him about D.C... a date that he seems not aware she was having. Lisbon accuses Jane he's ruining her night calling him 'jerk'. It's like she wants to find an excuse to fight with him and see his reaction. Jane just want her to trust him, because one of the main features in their relationship has been the trust they have in each other. The second time Jane interrups Lisbon and Pike is when the couple are about to have lunch. Then Lisbon meets Abbott on her way, who tells her he's known about Pike's promotion in D.C. Since Abbott started to like Jane and being kinda his 'buddy', of course he pushs Lisbon to tell Jane about D.C.. "He's a psychic", "A pretend psychic." How many times have Lisbon been told "there's no such things as psychics"? Coming from the man who months ago did everything to stop Jane from killing Red John, and in front of Lisbon called Jane as "your boyfriend", this is a big growth for Abbott's character. Also, Jane bringing him undercover on the field was a proof of total trust.
Of course Jane can feel the tension between he and Lisbon in the airstream, and I bet even Cho can smell the same atmosphere. I liked how Jane can feel if two people are a couple or not just looking at their intimacy - something he and Lisbon obvisously share in the same scene. Finally, after visiting Daniella at the hospital, Lisbon tells Lisbon about Pike's promotion in DC and the possibility she may go with him. I like the fact that Lisbon points out that Pike is always there for her - does she remember Jane once told her "I'm always gonna save you, Lisbon"? or is she trying to tease him just to have another reaction? Sure, she's stating Jane's gone for 2 years and he wasn't there for her when she needed it. When Jane says that she really likes Pike, Lisbon doesn't answer - she likes Pike but not so much as she expected. If you love someone, you wouldn't skate over the question. Again, she's waiting for his reaction, but Jane is surprised by his own words of "Congratulations", mixed with the feeling of loosing her forever and the growing feeling of love for her. Jane wants Lisbon to be happy, and if she's is, "Then I'm happy." They're both lying: Lisbon rolls her eyes, Jane shrug his shoulder. Also, if Lisbon really loves Pike, she wouldn't need time to think about his offer. She may have found what she wants (Pike, a good guy, who takes her out for dinner, who even plays in a band!), but not what she needs (Jane, a jerk who always messes her up, makes her some good eggs for breakfast, but who can complete her).
Do you think Jane should stop Lisbon or just let her be happy? Share your comments below.
