The Leftovers - Premiere Date Pushed Back

Apr 25, 2014

The debut date for THE LEFTOVERS has changed. The series begins its ten-episode season SUNDAY, JUNE 29 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO (not June 15, as originally announced).

From Damon Lindelof (Emmy® winner for “Lost”) and acclaimed novelist Tom Perrotta (Academy Award® nominee for “Little Children”), THE LEFTOVERS is based on Perrotta’s bestselling novel of the same name. The drama series takes an original look at The Rapture…because it’s not entirely clear The Rapture happened. Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Emily Meade, Annie Q, Margaret Qualley, Amanda Warren and Chris Zylka star. Lindelof serves as the series showrunner. Produced for HBO by Adventure Corps in association with Warner Bros. Television.

This Sunday, April 27 at 9:00 p.m., the first trailer for THE LEFTOVERS will air on HBO prior to a new episode of “Game of Thrones,” and will be available simultaneously at youtube.com/HBO. For more information, follow @TheLeftoversHBO on Twitter, and use hashtag #TheLeftovers.

  2. Nice to see that HBO is using its most popular show to promote it.

  3. Well, combined with DVD-sales, streaming and piracy it`s not the most popular show on HBO. But yeah.

  4. Didn't they issue a press release a little while back announcing production was going on hiatus for a little time? I guess it has something to do with that...

  5. Game of Thrones? If that's not the most popular show then what is?!

  6. Read the article, because of the delay it`s actually aired alongside True Blood.

  7. The article mentions that there will be a promo trailer for the show during this week's GoT - I assume that's what LittleDreamer was talking about. I did in fact read the article, thanks.

  8. Like @Lost_At_Sea already said, I was talking about Game of Thrones. True Blood wasn't even mentioned in the above article, so I don't understand why you'd assume i was talking about that show.

  9. No reason to be angry. I assumed wrong, so im so sorry. I assumed you ment to say that True Blood was the biggest because of The Leftovers being aired alongside TB instead of the last week of GoT this summer.
