Colin Morgan has been cast in series two of BBC Two’s BAFTA nominated drama The Fall.
Colin is playing DS Tom Anderson, an officer involved in the hunt for serial killer Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan). Morgan will join the cast, currently filming in Belfast, for the final three episodes of the second series and his character will work closely with Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson).
On his new role, Colin said: “I'm delighted to be joining the cast of The Fall for what is going to be an exciting and gripping second series. Allan Cubitt has written exceptional material and I feel very privileged to be working with him and the very talented cast.”
Colin’s arrival follows exciting news this week that The Fall has received two BAFTA nominations for series one. The Fall has been nominated for 'Best Mini Series’ and Jamie Dornan is in the running for the coveted title of ‘Leading Actor’.
The Fall is a Fables Limited production in association with Artists Studio. It is written and directed by Allan Cubitt, produced by Gub Neal and Julian Stevens with Gillian Anderson, Justin Thomson-Glover and Patrick Irwin acting as executive producers.
The series was commissioned by Janice Hadlow, outgoing Controller of BBC Two and Ben Stephenson, Controller of Drama Commissioning, and executive produced by Stephen Wright through BBC Northern Ireland.

Gonna have to start watching this then I guess, lol
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. :D
ReplyDeleteI saw the first episode when it first aired and, although I thought it was very good, I wasn't sure if a wanted to continue given the theme of the show. But after hearing so many good things about it, I watched series 1 recently and I do not regret it, it was very, very good. I recommend it. Now with Colin in the mix, I have an extra reason to watch series 2! :D
ReplyDeleteGood for him! He's a very talented actor. I look forward to see him in this role, and perhabs a reunion with his TV dad!
ReplyDeleteYou should. It's a very good show. Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan are brilliant in this,
ReplyDeleteHURRY UPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its spellbinding!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! And they deserve all the noms and awards for their acting, they are brilliant in this!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite series I saw last year honestly!
ReplyDeleteIt surprised me since I expected a more run of the mill UK Crime Drama, and in some ways it was, but it was so well done.
Great news :) I can't wait to see series two!
ReplyDeleteWith so many people here whose opinion I trust I've gone and acquired the first series :D
ReplyDeleteI do love Gillian, only seen Dornan in OUaT before but he was one of the few I did like in that before I stopped watching. I've grabbed S1 so I can up to date before this one starts. Cheers for the endorsement :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, JOhn Lynch is in it too? This is just getting better & better :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not hugely into crime drama's these days, but the cast list seems to be pretty good, and tbh I'll watch anything with Colin in, he is a fabulous actor!
ReplyDeleteY'all talked me into it, just put first series on netflix.
ReplyDeleteYay, another one in the fold.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy Colin Morgan has been casted in this show. He will rock it, I know it! Colin Morgan is phenomenal and always top notch in his outstanding acting.
ReplyDeleteExciting news! So happy Colin Morgan who is my favorite actor, is in this now! Colin is so talented! And I'll always watch anything Colin is in so I'll have to watch "The Fall" too! ;) Thanks for the news!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, I saw him in Mojo a couple of months ago and he was amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh yes Colin was amazing in "Mojo"! And did you see him as Ariel in "The Tempest"? Such a mesmerizing actor!
ReplyDeleteI had tickets for The Tempest but then had an attack that day so was unable to go (I have MS), I was absolutely gutted :( My friend got me his autograph though was was very kind of her.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry for you. I really hope you're safe and sound now. It must have been terrible to experience. However It's really great that you got to see Colin in "Mojo" though. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, he is! His character is with the police (he's a Chief), so there will be most likely some interaction between the two.
ReplyDeleteThat's great news. Lynch was in the Musketeers recently, it was good to see him that too.
ReplyDeleteOh really? I've started with series 1 yesterday, the show has fantastic actors, too bad Peter Capaldi can't be in series 2, he's brillant, but I guess he'll be a brillant Doctor too :D
ReplyDeleteYeah it's a real shame he won't be in S2, but they have signed Marc Warren as Rochefort instead who is a real favourite of mine, so I'm a happy bunny :D
ReplyDeleteI've seen the first 3 episodes now, enjoying it so far :D
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your enjoying it! I remember Darque and Bunky Bunk talking about it last year but had forgotten about it until i came across it on Netflix. I binge watched it one night when i couldn't sleep. Gillian and Jamie were just fantastic in it. Enjoy Sandi! :D
ReplyDeleteJamie is so creepy, never would have guessed that from his OUaT character, he's very compelling indeed as the stalker/murderer! I hope to catch the rest this weekend, I'm actually home for a change which is gonna be fantastic, hoping to get a load of catching up done on my shows....housework, what housework XD
ReplyDeleteHe was frikkin CREEPTASTIC in The Fall! XD
