  1. Blatantly 'Lucy's dad tells her he's working a double shift and hugs her goodbye before heading off to die'.

  2. What an amazing episode this was! For the first time the Ark was more interesting than the ground and it contained genuinely touching moments throughout. Well done, The 100! Best episode I have seen so far this week. I can't decide which scene to choose, but I know it will be with the dad. His heartbreaking goodbye to his daughter actually made tears come to my eyes and that never happens. Still I think watching the barrette fall from his hand as he makes the ultimate sacrifice was the most powerful moment of all.

  3. I have a soft spot for the scene where Bellamy comes up to Clarke during the rocket launching and just speaks to her. It's like he wants some reassurance that it will be okay. When he asks her if she thinks they'll see the rockets from up there. It's like he wants to believe that those people won't die because of him. Then we surprisingly get her asking him if they can wish on a shooting star like this. Which I thought was interesting. I love their dynamic. So their scenes to me are always the best. So yup, I voted for "Other" again since Bellarke scenes are usually not your polls for some reason. :)

I liked that scene too. A rare moment where they weren't in conflict with one another.

  5. This was by far the best episode of the series yet.The Ark storyline knocked it out of the park easily. From the scene where the people volunteered to sacrifice themselves for their families on, I just started tearing up.
I do have to hand it to Henry Ian Cusick, though; he has definitely done a lot with the character of Kane. I was pretty ready to write his character off as the "villain", but he's made the character a lot more than that. He certainly showed a different and more human side to Kane this episode.

  6. The volunteers for section 17 made me all choked up.
When those in power believe they know all the answers, thinking the people would riot and it's better to kill them off in their sleep. Then the people surprise them by sacrificing themselves.
This show is on a different level.

  7. I totally agree about Kane. He has been the stock villain for me too, but this episode allowed us to see his side of things as well and opened him up as a character. I look forward to learning more about him now.

  8. That was such a powerful scene. Even the beginning when we see him react to his daughter going blind grabbed me. Great acting all around.

  9. I thought all the Ark characters got some good character moments this time. It was a nice change because usually I find the ground plot more interesting than teh Ark, but this time it was definitely the opposite.

  10. That scene was so beautifully done, so poignant. I rarely get choked up by TV, but that scene and the one where the father drops the barrette as he died did it for me.

  11. Me too. It was so touching. I agree that The 100 is on a different level. I came into it not expecting much, but like Star-Crossed, it really has become something quite different and a whole lot better than I ever expected. So far this might be the best TV episode I have seen this month. Not at all what I thought I would be saying about this show.

  12. Yes, both scenes were beautiful! Especially when the music started playing, which made it even more emotional. In general I find the use of music on The 100 good. Most of the time it really fits in the episode.

Apart from Imagine Dragons in the pilot the musical choices have been spot on.

  14. Although Imagine Dragons is way too overused these days, I found that it fit nively with this show, way better than most of the times it is used.

  15. I completely agree. The music has been spot on and one of the few shows where it has not been a distraction yet. They do song-to-scene extremely well here so it feels like some real thought is put into the music choices.

I think that's why I didn't like it though, it was a little too on the nose, a little too literal in that scene. But, as you say, it was a better fit on this show than on a lot of shows it's also featured on.

  17. I see where you're coming from. I was jsut relieved to have the song make sense in a show for once. Other than Defiance it really has not.

  18. I love that scene too! Bellamy chose to stand beside Clarke when they were staring at the sky. He just walked over to her. He was worried. That’s why he wondered out loud if they could see the rockets in time. He wanted to fix his mistake. He didn’t want for those people to die. And I think he seeks her out because she sees the good in him and tells him so. she believes there is good in him. She is the one person who keeps telling him that he’s such a good brother and protector to Octavia. She emphasizes his good qualities. Which is rare for him. Everyone just assumes he is a bad person and treats him as such. But she tries to always find the best in him. And he needs that.
I think he is good for her, too. Because she needs to learn that she can’t fix everything. That she isn’t perfect. That mistakes will happen. I feel like with Clarke, she wants to save everyone. But you can’t. Sometimes, you will make mistakes and fail. And that’s okay. In that scene Clarke is also opening up to Bellamy. She asked him if you can wish on a shooting star. And I think that’s a personal conversation. It’s interesting to me because she wants to bond with him.
