I'm loving any scenes with Bellamy and Clarke together. Their chemistry is pretty amazing. I wish the writers would go in that direction instead of Clarke/Finn where I don't see much chemistry at all.
Probably Charlotte at the end, that really took me by surprise. And now I loathe her, and I *really* hope she suffers THE MOST painful death of the SERIES by the end of this season. -_- What a crazy little c-word.
Oh, psycho Charlotte humming it at the end totally freaked me out. I hope this show is as dark as the writters say it is, and she doesn't get a free pass because of her age.
I know chemistry is very subjective, but I kinda like Clarke/Finn. I found their scenes in the first two episodes very organic and nice. I won't say I ship them, I've sworn off on shipping, but maybe down the line I will, LOL
Hard to choose the scenes between Clarke killing Atom and Bellamy comforting Charlotte for me. Both scenes softened Bellamy's character a little. Clarke killing Atom scene also showed Bellamy now looking at her in a completely different way. I think I am still rooting for this scene which was sad and powerful without many dialogues in it.
I will be shocked if they serve justice to a kid. I can see Clarke standing up for her but not being able to tolerate her presence. In fact, she'd be like the new Wells for her.
Unfortunately, I think you're right. They like to say it's dark and they like to play with the idea, but when it actually comes down to it, they most likely will take the easy way out other than exacting justice on a little girl.
Now I'm totally hooked on this show. The scene where Clark kills Atom was chilling and incredible good. Also Charlotte killing Wells was a suprising twist and I can't wait to see what happens when they realize Charlotte is crazy.
I think they mean dark like Lord of the Flies, but they are going to want to keep the main characters people we can root for and that would be hard to do if any of them purposely kill a child.
I'm not going as far as killing her, after all she is a child, an obviously troubled one, but I want to see some sort of consequences for her other than being a pariah to some, some tangible consequences, that's what I mean by not getting a free pass. TBH I wouldn't root for kid killer either, but that doesn't mean we should forget that she is a killer just because of her age, one thing does not exclude the other.
I certainly hope they NEVER hook up Bellamy and Clarke. It would ruin the best thing about the show - their rivalry for power. It would also kill the one thing that keeps The 100 from being like every single other show on the CW, except Supernatural.
rivalry for power?? I haven't seen Clarke show any sort of interest in "power". She just wants to do the right thing and try to help humankind survive on Earth.
Also re: Bellamy/Clarke this show is based on a book and apparently in that book certain things happen between them. And this is the CW. So I have no doubt they will continue to force romance on the show.
Clarke definitely wants people to do things the way she thinks they should be done. She has very definite opinions about what the "right" thing is and she looks down on those who do not agree with her. Her interest in power is her interest in things going the way she thinks they should. What I like best about this show is that there are many different perspectives, each with their own benefits so the right thing is never black and white. Do you sacrifice people now in hopes that it will save an entire species later? We would say no but if we were in that situation it's not so easy a call. Who chooses who lives and who dies and what gives them that right? What is more important - freedom or life? The 100 tackles deeper questions than it has the right to and that is what makes it powerful to me. "Force romance" is the perfect phrase because there is enough to tackle just to survive that adding unnecessary love triangles does feel forced and quite frankly a waste of my time. I would not use the fact that it is based on a book to be my guideline though. Very little of TV based on a book actually follows the book it is based on. Here's hoping The 100 continues to rise above.
I agree. With Bellamy and Clarke, there is just so much potential because they are opposites and yet similar in some ways. I just enjoy their scenes the most. Also, CW showed quite a bit of them in the general promo for the whole season. I think their chemistry is the best on the show. And I see nothing special with Finn and Clarke at all. They just don't have sparks, in my opinion.
I never read the books. What happened between Bellamy and Clarke in the books? Did they ever kiss or get together??? I'm really curious about them. I just don't want the show to be stuck on Finn and Clarke, a pairing where I personally don't see any chemistry...
The only one? LOL. I think Bellarke is the most popular pairing now. Check out tumblr page with the "Bellarke" tag, so many gif sets for them and so much enthusiasm. And also, fans are already making fan videos for them. So they are definitely catching on quicker than Finn/Clarke.
I just think Bellamy and Clarke have a natural chemistry. I'd rather see them get together than Finn/Clarke. With Bellamy and Clarke together, there is more potential for unique storylines rather than with the boring Finn/Clarke pairing.
Eliza (Clarke) said the show will focus on survival but there will be some romance. I think Clarke/Finn is the obvious couple that will happen first but they won't last because Finn's girlfriend is going to show up. I like Bellamy/Clarke but I hope they take their storyline slowly and don't focus so much on their romance. Their dynamic is very interesting even if it's not romantic.
I haven't read them either so I don't know any details, but some crazy shippers on twitter and tumblr have been using the fact that they have "something" in the books as definite proof that they will be an item on the show too.
Surprisingly, this one isn't even close for me, given all the big dramatic moments of the night. I choose Bellamy comforting Psycho Kid, which softened his character a little and yet was still one of the most chilling scenes of the night.
This show is far better than I thought it would be, mostly because the characters are so complex. It makes watching the interactions between them fascinating.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteHands down the one where Clarke helps Atom die. It was quite chilling with her humming that song and all.
ReplyDeleteClarke killing Atom. Mainly because of the way Bellamy looks at her. Bellarke <3
ReplyDeleteAgreed, the humming made it even more intense. And then when Psycho Girl hums while Wells was dying, yikes!
ReplyDeleteProbably Charlotte at the end, that really took me by surprise. And now I loathe her, and I *really* hope she suffers THE MOST painful death of the SERIES by the end of this season. -_- What a crazy little c-word.

ReplyDeletewhat chemistry? If they do plan to go down that way, once Raven comes down, I can clearly say "I can see the ending."

ReplyDeleteMe two,I hope Clarke/Bellamy is the writers end game! I'm not all that into Finn

ReplyDeleteI like how they are progressing Bellamy's character the most. You are right in that they both soften teh character and give him multiple layers.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't able to finish the episode. There's a lot of Mary sue and Gary stus in the show.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I think you're right. They like to say it's dark and they like to play with the idea, but when it actually comes down to it, they most likely will take the easy way out other than exacting justice on a little girl.

ReplyDeleteAgreed, looking forward the following episodes. Especially ep 6 after the plotline was released recently.

ReplyDeletei thought i was the only one who noticed Bellamy and Clarke. :)
ReplyDeleteBELLARKE
