Doesn't look that bad actually. I love the shot of the boys in downtown Chicago surrounded by the skyscrapers. We should get the trailer tonight shouldn't we?
So Freddy Krueger has come to haunt the SPN verse ? I like the stills. Sure most of them remind me more of a 'Days of our Lives' episode but I never expected this show to have much in common with SPN anyway. So I'm positively surprised by that hooded guy.
I'll give the spin-off a fair shot, still: DROP THE 'SUPERNATURAL' from the title !!! makes it feel like a cheap attempt to cash in on the franchise
And damn, Nate REALLY looks a lot like Daniel in this. Remembering how people said this when they cast him as Kol, theCWs casting departement really did a fantastic job back then casting someone to look like his older brother (same goes for Caspar Zafer....where is this guy btw ?haven't seen him in anything since)
Good stuff! I remember that the backdoor pilot trailer for The Originals was really good! I'm hoping for the same for Bloodlines, and not the usual vague 30 second promos we usually get.
The brothers look completely out of place im these photos, as if they are in some kind of alternate reality. When you see Sam and Dean side by side with the unexcviting actors who are in the photos, you can see that the Winchesters are a cut above. Sorry but it looks really run-of the mill and boring.
It's rather interesting to see this clash between urban/young and pretty and older/rural Sam and Dean atmosphere. It's as if they've placed these characters into another universe of the young and fashionable. Love Nate though. The contrast just really takes me out of the fictional world and feels more like CW's preferred world meeting non-preferred old stuff. I do like the skyscraper background and wouldn't mind seeing the main SPN characters in big cities.
I'm definitely tuning in for the spinoff - if BL is picked up, that is... it's not guaranteed. Flash and IZombie are more guaranteed and per the most recent Deadline Pilot Panic report, Jane the Virgin (blech) and The Messengers are gaining supporters and BL seems to be cooling off. There's also no guarantee that BL won't be picked up; it depends on many current shows The CW doesn't renew.
I feel like that's somewhat intentional. We've seen them wear suits and things before so they could have fit in.
It does seem like a very different show, which isn't a great way to appeal to SPN fans, but I also really wish we saw Sam and Dean in urban settings a little more often. Heart is one of my favorite season 2 episodes for that reason.
It's not S&D's clothing I'm referring to, it's just that they look completely out of place, a little bit like Alices in Wonderland.
Of course these are only photos but from the little that can be seen, this spin-off has nothing in common with SPN. x
As for the brothers being in different settings, I would say they have been in a great variety of towns. Maybe they haven't been in skyscraper neighbourhoods, but I would think ghosts and stuff wouldn't be very common in modern settings anyway.
I'm very much torn. On one hand, I honestly don't think I can watch a show with the word 'Supernatural' that isn't about Sam and Dean because I love the show for its brotherly core between the Winchesters even more than just seeing the monster of the week, but on the other hand, I'm interested in the Chicago mafia style that Bloodlines is hinting at.
There have been a variety of towns, definitely. They've been to Chicago before (before this episode I mean), and other places. I guess I meant I just like seeing them in places like this every so often.
I assume they're out of place because it's not supposed to be about them, but hopefully they will be more integrated into the episode, as otherwise a lot of fans will just turn the channel or erase the episode from their DVR after about 10 minutes.
Photos look fantastic! Really excited to see Nate back on our screens again, loved him in TVD. Can't wait to check out the trailer after SPN, really hoping there is good chemistry between the cast.
Pictures look ok but the story plot, is it enough to carry a whole series? Seems like a one season show at best in terms of content but who knows. Not entirely interested but not entirely not interested. Will wait and see.
Not sold on the spin-off but I'll give it a go. This ep looks to be interesting. If I watched the spin-off it would only be b/c of Nathaniel B. I am liking the big city vibe of this ep; so dif from all the rural settings. When I got to one pic, it made me think of Charlie. When will Charlie be back?!
Sweet, I didn't see Nate in the promo that aired after the ep, I was kinda worried that he wasn't going to be in the backdoor pilot. Good to see he's there. I gotta laugh at the Freddy Krueger hand villain though, sorry, lol.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteActually looks better than I expected. Nate looks very good.

ReplyDeleteYes, after the show and then on youtube or spoiler tv.

ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for Nathaniel! Looking forward to this episode!

Funny how this Lucien guy looks super short comparing to Winchesters. LOL .

Looking forward to this one! Hope it's good.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the pictures. ..... Now! Waiting for the story for see if it really is good.
ReplyDeleteGood expectations.....
Very rarely do they venture to big cities like Chicago in the show, they mostly deal in the back road and small town stuff.
ReplyDeleteBut actually filming the exteriors in Chicago, does give it a better feeling of scope.

ReplyDeleteMeh? still not sold, will see what the pilot is like

ReplyDeleteHe's in the extended promo, shapeshifting.
ReplyDeleteI saw finally. :D Kinda bummed he's a shapeshifter though, they are pretty nasty in Supernatural. The ep skin still gives me the heebie jeebies.
