Good luck to it, but I see it going the way of the Gossip Girl spinoff. Although if it does get picked up I will be the sucker that watches it regardless of quality, because of the chance of Jody Mills showing up.
I will give it a chance but it does sound a lot like The Originals. I am glad they stepping up the female presence on this show. A whole female monster family is a nice change. Reminds me of the... oh i can't remember what they were called. The chick that Dean knocked up... what was she again?
"Bloodlines will be almost entirely a stand-alone episode, with only glimpses at the effects the Mark of Cain has been having on Dean."
Giving Bloodlines some thought, I had figured that the Mark of Cain would end up playing a factor in this episode as it would give Dean an excuse to try to give Ennis the advice of killing every single monster he sees to contrast Sam's more sympathetic and more logical views of the situation.
I immediately thought of Dabb NOT wanting it to feel like The Originals and that's why vampires won't be one of the five families. That whole excuse of why vampires aren't in Bloodlines just seems hilarious to me.
We haven't seen anything different with other monsters, though. We've seen Djinns working as bartenders, we've seen a cult-like Southern group of werewolves, we haven't seen shape shifters with very dapper attitudes so giving that reasoning just for vampires seems a bit ridiculous.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteAn Amazon?
ReplyDeleteThat's what it sounds like to me as well. Various supernatural species vying for power over one city.
ReplyDeleteYes. Something like that.

ReplyDeleteYah, it was an Amazon. "The Slice Girls" is probably my most dislike episode of the entire series.
ReplyDeleteBut Dabb is right; with the exception of the Alpha Vamp and Benny's former 'nest' most of his "children" live like squatters.
ReplyDeleteFrom the way Vampires have been portrayed in Supernatural it wouldn't make sense for them to be one of the five families.

ReplyDeleteAnd how come? We've seen other monsters being in very similar situations before.
ReplyDeleteDon't exsanguinate the messenger, lol, I'm just relaying what Dabb said in his interviews.
