Harrison Wright is officially hanging up his Gladiator shield. Columbus Short on Friday confirmed that he won’t be returning for Scandal‘s upcoming fourth season.
Short released the following statement, via a rep, on Friday:
"At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today. I would like to first thank [creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast. Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series. I have enjoyed every single minute of it. Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful."

So I guess they're going to kill him off...
ReplyDeleteOh, because THAT's a shock, I thought he'd come back from the dead and become an angel (?
ReplyDeletethat's sad! I really liked Harrison! And with him leaving, the OPA will be very short! I guess Quinn will be returning after all, which is a plus, especially now that she changed so much;
ReplyDeleteOnce you think about it, would that really be the strangest twist this show has ever had?
ReplyDeleteKinda expected, this season they all have long storyline except him!
ReplyDeleteWell he had become a kind worthless character.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just realized with Harrison's departure they no longer have lawyer on the team. I'm curious to see if they try to replace him.
ReplyDeleteNah, I'd actually bet on a disappearance for him. He had reason to believe he could die this past season, maybe he just wanders off never to be seen again.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah could be an option. But giving the finale, do we really think is going to survive knowing what he knows on Papa Pope? We'll see!
ReplyDeleteReally? What exactly was Abby's storyline? Not even Harrison had the storyline we were promised.
ReplyDeleteWell he had become a kind worthless character.
ReplyDeleteSo did Abby. OPA has somewhat become obsolete to make room for all these compiracies.
I thought that Abby was a lawyer... remembering back when Stephen was yelling at Quinn about the trouble they could get in... in helping her....saying some thing about he and Liv and Abby being an officer of the court....
ReplyDeleteSo, what about his backstory? All that Clearwater stuff? Anyway I believe they could find a way to go back at that, since that seems like a very dark thing, giving Adnan's involvement with Maya and the Terrorists, wich seems like could be the main threat to season 4. But what I would be really glad to see is OPA back as primary focus, like season 1 and 2.
ReplyDeleteShe technically is but Abby stopped practicing law and became an investigator when she joined OPA.
ReplyDeleteClearwater without Harrison and Adnan doesn't sound that interesting. There's still B613 to be dealt be and I'm pretty sure there's at least one conspiracy with an ominous codename in the files that David got from Jake. This show has become a clusterf**k of conspiracies. I hope Scandal tones it down for next season.
ReplyDeleteThey are all lawyers - Quinn had just passed the bar before her fist beau was blown up. Abby was a lawyer who became a political wife who was a victim of domestic violence. Stephen and Harrison are also lawyers. The only one where there might be a question is Huck because before was a private when B613 foced him to work for them and then he went crazy from the box so I don't think there was any opportunity for him to go to law school.
