- O'Bannon explained how Jason's death in the final moments of the most recent episode shows how the stakes are very real and proved that anyone and everyone is vulnerable. The emotional resonance of Jason's death goes all the way back to the pilot and it spins Charlie into a very unusual way with how she deals with the fact that she killed the guy she loved. And as for Jason's father, Neville always thought "he can hug Jason later, but later has been wrenched from him," O'Bannon says. Losing his son and his wife in the same year means that Neville is now "the definition of a loose cannon."
- The last four episodes of the season are supposed to be considered a four hour event, and O'Bannon reveals that Rachel is the lightning rod for both the patriots and nano tech storyline, as she ties it all together into one story. "Marrying the two was nice," Mitchell says. "It was nice to be in the world battling the patriots and to be in Aaron's world as well."

Looking forward to the rest of the season. Please don't cancel it, NBC!
ReplyDeleteOnly 4 episodes to go....
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they're going to kill Aaron.. We haven't seen him a lot...
"Jason's death in the final moments of the most recent episode shows how
ReplyDeletethe stakes are very real and proved that anyone and everyone is
vulnerable" or it's an attempt at a shock death, when we all knew it was going to be him since he is the most obvious death. If they wanted to show that the stakes are real then they'd kill Miles or Monroe or something (although I hope they don't because these two make the show).
REVOLUTION! SEASON 3! I am so glad they are tying the nano & patriot storylines together, b/c I was feeling like the nano storyline was so seperated from the rest of what is going on. Love the humor in this show! I really, really hope we get a season 3.
ReplyDeleteSo excited can't wait for the rest of the season!
ReplyDeleteFor the love of all TV gods, let this one be renewed
ReplyDeleteOmabin--i'll continue with my positive take on Revolution's chances for renewal:
ReplyDeleteDeadline a couple of days reported on bubble shows including REVOLUTION...here is what they said, "REVOLUTION is deeply in bubble territory. It has been a hohum performer in the low trafficked Wednesday 8 pm slot but it has been stable, keeping the lights on in the hour. Keeping the show is important to Warner Brothers TV , while NBC is open to letting it go. A lot will depend on how strong NBC's drama pilots are, but with JJ ABRAMS other NBC series--midseason addition BELIEVE--certain to be cancelled, REVOLUTION could clinch a short, 13 episode order. With NBC's cooperation, WBTV is taking REVOLUTION to WONDERCON later this month in an effort to drum up fan support."
Deadline of course has strong industry sources so they are good in knowing the inside skinny. Very nice that WBTV is pushing hard for REVOLUTION and that NBC is still open to promote the show at WonderCon. I do like that Deadline thinks at least a 13 episode renewal is quite possible.
I think it's going to make it. Rockne O'Bannon said at WonderCon that Erik Kripke is right now pitching Season 3 to NBC.
Also check out the video clip of the show with coming attraction that they showed at WonderCon--it's awesome. It's on youtube.
EM! We already lost you once as Juliet don't noooo not again as Rachel!
ReplyDeleteDon't think so in terms of shock...Most things that have been going on mideseason onward have been things that tie-back to season 1 and the fall out with the Tower...so in this case Jason parallels and juxtaposed Danny, as Charlie too juxtaposes herself from where she has currently been to whom she became after the Tower.
ReplyDeleteIf it's going to be a family Saga show (like most Bad Robot works are), then we won't ever see characters like Miles or Rachel die until the final episode, because ultimately their story is backbone that drives the idea that they can undo what they have done and create "a better future" for the younger generation. So for them this is a redemption story.
I agree, if they wanted to show that nobody is save, they should have killed Charlie or Rachel...both are important characters but the show would survive without either of them, just as it did without Danny and Nora.
ReplyDeleteJason's death was a bit of a cop out to me as he really wasn't an important or even well developed character anymore. I learned more about him in his final episode than I did all season long.
To me the show is about the story of Miles and Monroe, their brotherhood/friendship and in a way the family that these two always will be, so I don't think the show would survive either of them dying, although I can see either or both of them dying if we get a real series finale one day.
Interesting that O'Bannon said, Neville lost his son and wife in the same year...so Julia is really dead?
ReplyDelete"Lost" doesn't necessarily mean dead. She's "lost" to him, since she was last seen being held captive by the Patriots. Also, I think it was the Chief of Staff guy (who Neville killed) that said that Julia was dead. As if a Patriot guy can be trusted, right? :)
ReplyDeleteJason also believes that they likely already killed her, but I hope for "our" sake that we would not get something so important to Tom just mentioned in passing...
ReplyDelete" do like that Deadline thinks at least a 13 episode renewal is quite possible.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I've been thinking we're going to get. ::fingers crossed::
They are doing the same thing with Connor... Little to no back story, very little is said, he just basically observes most of the time, just standing in the background looking pretty
ReplyDeletereally wanna see more of Rachel's stories.
ReplyDeleteWell he has only been in here for half a season or so, but his actual "current" story I think is still better than Jason's as he has had to fight his father, deal with sleeping with Charlie, and suddenly have Charlie give him the third degree! Even Charlie I think has taken a back seat to Miles, Rachel, and Monroe all arguing/dealing with the Patriots, but Jason was much more side lined considering he has been here since the Pilot and because his story was apart of Tom's season subplot....
ReplyDeleteI pray to all those gods every day!
ReplyDeleteI agree with RScorpio, there is a possible hope.
ReplyDeleteCannot wait for April 30! Hoping for the best news by then!
