‘A crown should never sit easy on the head.’

‘There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.
- Denis Waitley

Well, Royals, I must say that Reign just keeps getting better and better. I’m not sure how they keep managing to exceed my expectations. I’m just glad that they do.

OK, seriously, this is getting crazy. Every single time I have a problem or concern with a plot or a character the writers of Reign have fixed it or have begun to address it by the next episode.

In the last review, I talked about how unlikeable Lola would be to me if she didn’t fully disclose her situation to Lord Julien. I also hoped that the Bash and Kenna situation would show some promise.

While I have loved and supported Mary this whole time, if I’m honest she has been a little blandly heroic. I have been craving a darker and more commanding Mary. I really want to witness her grow into the role of Queen of Scotland. This episode showed Mary being a BOSS. I liked it and I hope they keep it up.
I really loved Francis reactions to her; on the one hand he was in awe of her in the scene where the men pledge allegiance to her and on the other he seemed a little frightened by her as well when she said that if it is a choice between her Scotland and hiss France, she would choose Scotland every time.

But Mary only told Francis what he told her at the start of the season. So what is good for the goose is good for the gander. I’m very interested in how this will affect their relationship. Their relationship is starting to get interesting so I say, ‘Stow the romance and bring on the political intrigue’…

Title: Liege Lord | Writer: Doris Egan | Director: Allan Kroeker
=======================================================================================================
Long Story Short

Mary discovers that her marriage contract has a secret clause stating that if she dies without an heir, Scotland will belong to France. Mary and Francis secretly meet Scottish Lord MacKenzie (Andrew Airlie) to tell him of the contract so he can return to Scotland and protest.

Catherine learns of Mary's actions and has all the Scots who know of the contract killed. Mary threatens to reveal to all the French nobles that Henry is mad, which forces Catherine to burn the original marriage contract.

Francis is disconcerted by Mary's willingness to start a French civil war to protect Scotland.

Bash and Kenna's marriage has a rocky start but Bash later saves Kenna from Henry's attentions and promises to always defend her.

Lola confesses to Julien about her pregnancy but not the father; Julien accepts this and still wants to marry her.

Character Contemplations

Bash – I will not ship Kash! I will NOT ship Kash! Yeah, right. Welcome to my new crack ship.

Bash cares about people and I like when they display that quality. If he isn’t dubbed ‘Protector of the Realm’ before the series ends I might riot. But what I don’t like is Bash still being at Mary’s beck and call. I was not a fan of the love triangle (a lot of Royals were in that boat with me) so please let’s all just pretend like it didn’t happen. Bash and Kenna both made some pretty solid points about the other’s past. Kenna has every reason to avoid Henry whereas Bash doesn’t have any such inclinations to avoid Mary.

At the end of the day, I want Bash to be happy and to have a healthy relationship with his brother. So, I’m rooting for him and Kenna to fall in love and one day move out of the castle and out of Mary’s hair. Kind of like why I ship Olivia with Nostradamus. I really did enjoy Torrance and Caitlin’s chemistry when Bash came to Kenna’s aid. But I also liked when they were taking shots at each other. So in short I’m all for Heroic!Bash and really loathe Lovestoned!Bash. looking forward to seeing what character growth/development comes from this forced marriage for Bash.

ps: Do you think they were forced to consummate that relationship yet? Technically if they have not, there is still hope for annulment of the marriage.

Catherine – When you see a real queen, acknowledge it! I may love to hate Catherine but I have nothing but love for Megan Follows. She manages to give Catherine so much depth and range, it’s really something. Glad to see Catherine getting lucky and appreciated for the amazing woman she can be when she’s not being an evil and manipulative witch.

I also like seeing the darker side of Catherine. She is taking care of business and quite literally working overtime. Henry has become a bit of a handful, wouldn’t you say? Fun Fact: The real Catherine was not allowed to participate in foreign affairs and she was never able to get rid of Diaen de Poitiers hold on Henry. I’m glad they were liberal with those details because power hungry!Catherine and protective!Catherine is so compelling and juicy. It makes for a much better story, in my opinion.

I see a lot of the best qualities of Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones) and Regina Mills Once Upon a Time) in the fictionalization of the character for some reason and I really love it. They way Catherine is written, it reminds me of one my favorite quotes, “Screw writing “strong” women. Write interesting women. Write well-rounded women. Write complicated women. Write a woman who kicks ass, write a woman who cowers in a corner. Write a woman who’s desperate for a husband. Write a woman who doesn’t need a man. Write women who cry, women who rant, women who are shy, women who don’t take no shit, women who need validation and women who don’t care what anybody thinks. THEY ARE ALL OKAY, and all those things could exist in THE SAME WOMAN. Women shouldn’t be valued because we are strong, or kick-ass, but because we are people. So don’t focus on writing characters who are strong. Write characters who are people.” And in my opinion that's just what they are doing with ALL of the women on this show and I couldn't be more happy about it.

Francis – I really wish Francis had more interactions with other people. Toby has kind of been shuttered away and shoved into a corner. Don’t get me wrong,
Toby and Adelaide have amazing chemistry but I just want Toby to be afforded the chance to stretch his chops because doting husband is starting to get to be a bit one note. So, I was happy to see that the writers are giving Francis something to do and worry about and in turn that should give Toby a chance to show his range. I’m very interested in Francis getting the chance to put his diplomacy lessons into action as well as contend with his wife who is a queen in her right and has demonstrated the ability to get men to fight for her cause.

Greer – Better luck next week! I think she got two lines and a total of a minute and half of screen time. I love the character and the actress so it sucked but we had more pressing issues to attend to so I forgive the writers as long as they don’t let it happen again. But it’s always nice when Greer’s ‘gals’ get to come out and play.

Henry – A mad king makes a country ripe for the picking. Henry clearly has a type: svelte, dark hair, dark eyes and ambitious. I swear all of this ‘madness’ business is probably just his way of throwing a temper tantrum about not having Diane around. I know is it’s a crackpot theory but I just can’t imagine not having Alan van Sprang around in season 2 and I really hope it’s not a tumor or something like that. Plus, they need to prolong Francis’s death for as long as possible so ipso facto they need to prolong Henry’s death as well. I just have to say I prefer mean, menacing and callous Henry. He felt very watered down this week. But the shots in the background of him with Penelope acting giddy as a school girl were priceless.

Keena – This was the turning point for the character of Kenna. I really hate reading that so many people dislike Kenna because I heart Caitlin so much! Kenna knows how others perceive her, yet she doesn’t care. She pursued avenues that she thought would better her lot in life. It kind of annoys me that Kenna has had so many quick turn arounds but I think it was the writers trying to figure out what works best for the character. This episode showed that Kenna has more depth than we all thought. I want to hug the writers so hard for that. I love that women seem to care more about their country and it’s well-being than men…

Lola – Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets apparently. Lola is the young lady that I thought she was. She gave full disclosure about her predicament and Julien still agreed to marry her. But now I have to give Julien the side eye… Is he a black widower? Does he secretly prefer the company of men… in his bed? Why is he willing to raise another man’s baby as his own? Lola, girl, you better watch out. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I smell another Tomas situation all over again. Oh, dear!

Mary – I’m waiting on the writers to have Mary say this line, ‘I'm no one to be trifled with. That is all you ever need know’, because basically that statement, pretty much sums up how Mary was feeling during this episode and it looks like this will be her attitude from here on out. Mary is embracing her power but does not take the responsibility lightly and it's quite admirable and refreshing especially when juxtaposed against the jaded and haggard Catherine and her willingness to sacrifice just about anything when it comes to protecting what's hers.

Penelope – Girl, Bye! Penelope is really pushing her luck. Poor thing will never see her demise coming. Funny how, Henry keeps coming back to Kenna and even admitted that Penelope’s voice grates his nerves. Since this sub plot was brewing in the background, I'll just assume this whole thing will come to a head very quickly and hopefully in a very messy and evil fashion.

It will go on and on until you are dead because that's the way it works. And a beautiful young queen? Men are going to throw themselves into the fire for you my dear. They'll shouldered lost causes and take on risks they should never take. In time you will get use to it.

Favorite lady-in-waiting
• Kenna

That Awkward Moment Award
• That awkward moment when your father thinks you raising his bastard would make a super awesome belated wedding present.

The “Are We Sure This Isn’t the Upper Eastside?” Award
• Once again, Reign has channeled its inner Gossip Girl by throwing a party to set a scheme in motion. – I’m not complaining. I love all the royal shindigs. I honestly wished we could see more of the more “mundane” things and people at French court.

Highlights

Memorable Moments

• Kenna keeps saying Anjou. - Bash, I think she is hinting that is where she would like to honeymoon.
• Bash ties Kenna’s dress for her.
• Francis is in awe of Mary when her countrymen pledge their allegiance to her.
• Mary slaps Catherine.
• Henry’s hallucination.

Laudable Lines

• Kenna: What are you complaining about? You are now married to a beautiful woman of noble birth.
Bash: Who is notorious for sleeping with my father. I see know awkwardness there.

• Bash: I won’t pretend I love you. But we should start liking each other at least.

• Mary: France cannot be governed by a mad king.

• Greer: Maybe he just needs a push.

• Julien: You are unusually clear about what you want from others, Lady Lola. I’m not complaining. We are well matched.

• Mary: I am the queen of Scotland not the queen of Mary de Guise.

Superb Scenes
• Bash comes to Kenna’s aide when Henry forces his whims upon her, in public no less.
• Bash and Kenna bicker about each other’s exes.
• Mary tells Francis that she was not bluffing when she told Catherine that she would let the cat out of the bag about France’s mad king if she didn’t give her what she wanted.
• Francis and Mary scheme together to make the secret marriage contract null and void
• Julien proposes to Lola.

Lowlights

• No Nostradamus. Y’all should be firmly aware of what a huge Rossif Sutherland fangirl I am by now so I would be remissed to not to mention his absence.
• Damn, was Greer even in this episode? Blinked and you missed her. It’s no secret that Greer is my favorite lady-in-waiting so when we don’t get much of her, I get a little grumpy. But at least they are doing something to expand the character of Kenna so at least Greer’s lack of screen time was used wisely.

Miscellaneous

Biggest Surprises of the Episode
• Mary did not tell Francis of her plan before hand; she did it behind his back.
• The massacre of Lord MacKenzie and all of his men at the brothel.

Burning Questions

• Who is the boy that Henry was hallucinating about?
Theory: It's some poor lad he killed in his youth and he's had these bouts of madness before.

Style Spotlight: All the other women’s wardrobe was a hot mess this week on Reign. Even though Greer didn’t have that much screen time this week, when we did see her, she was the definitely the fashionista out of the bunch. The picture to left is my favorite outfit that Greer wore this week.

Fun Fact: Mary had two illegitimate half-brothers that were sent to court with her.

Tasty Tidbit: It is reported that Francis stuttered.

History Lesson: Did you know Mary’s half-brother James Stewart, Earl of Moray was a protestant who led the Lords of the Congregation in rebellion in 1559? But he then turned around and advised Mary on religion when she returned to Scotland.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grade: A
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Side Notes: The incident featured in this episode actually happened. The real Mary in her early years was actually a lot more naïve and trusting than the one portrayed in the show. How a mother could sell her daughter out like, I’ll never know. Please, let’s diverge from the history books and have Mary and Francis storm Scotland and behead Mary of Guise. Who’s with me?

Friendly Reminders
Don’t forget to watch and live tweet with the show (@CWReign) & me (@lilithhellfire) every Thursday night at 9 pm EST.

Do Your Part
Royals, even though we have already been renewed for season 2, we still have to make every episode count for the rest of the season. If we don't we will get put in a death slot next season to wither away and die (see Beauty and the Beast if you don't believe me). It is very important to be stream the episodes. The biggest impact is to stream it directly off of the CW site. But Hulu counts as well. The biggest difference is definitely clicking the ads when you watch from a legit streaming site.

Also, even if you don't have Nielsen's box you can still help the ratings (a little) in your own way by live tweeting with show. You can pitch in by using the show's hashtag (#Reign) and the show's episode title in every tweet you make about the show on Thursdays. Prime tweeting hours to get the show trending are usually between 7 pm EST until about 1 am EST (after the west coast airing has gone off).

If you are Canadian and you’d like to help the show on the social media front, don’t live tweet on Wednesdays; do it on Thursdays instead with the US Royals. If you really have your heart set on trending, make sure not to over use the episode title in tweets prior to 7 pm EDT.

Social Media Check List:
• Do you follow Reign's official Twitter account?
• Have you liked Reign's official Facebook page?
• Do you live tweet with the show every Thursday using the show's hashtag as well as the episode tile hashtag between the hours of 7 PM EDT and 1 AM EDT?
• Are you retweeting all relevant tweets from the and crew throughout the week?

  1. It was evident that there was no consummation between Kenna & Bash when Henry was goading Bash with what Kenna could teach him. If they had, he would have known. And he wouldn't be concerned with her continuing to 'service' Henry. I think he's actually disgusted by the thought of familial double dippage.

  2. I really liked the episode i am glad hey give a rest on the love triangle BS and start giving more time on Mary's journey to become a Queen, she is stilla newbie and she has to elarn how to deal with those desitions, i really liked what Catherien told her when Mary went and Slapped her (btw great moment)
"Welcome to being a ruling Queen, men will trust you and die, this are the first but they wont be the last. It will go on and on untill your death because that's the way it works"
So dar Mary has had to learned the hard way and what she did next was a way of showing that they have not defeated her.
I have to say i felt sorry for the man that slept with Queen Catherine he was oblivious to who she was and after that he was so happy and then BAM! he has to die cause he is part of the men that were supposed to go to Scotland.
Bash and Kenna are great together, i didnt even knew people hate Kenna... why? she is a lovely character when the show started i was more into Kenna and the King storyline than the whole Bash/Francis/Mary (well haters gonna hate).... I can see them finding each otehr with tiime, not now, now they can be friends they are together and they will eb each others ears when the otehr needs it but with time they can go and be something else.
Still dont get how Julien still take Lola after telling her she is pregnant and he ended up things with Greer cause he saw her with someone else (or it was the fact that it was not only him who saw them but others too? is that why?)... Spoielrs keep saying that there will be a death coming and if what Julien tells is true maybe Lola will go intot hat curse and willl die in labor ?

  3. One of my favorite episodes of the season,so far. The politics and backstabbing are always my favorite parts of this show so it was everything I could have asked for. I agree with everything you said. I really want Francis to get scenes with others and it looks like in the upcoming episodes he will, so I'm excited about that. Bash and Kenna are so much more likable, thank goodness they found something that works for both characters. I hope they never ever go back to Bash pining over Mary it was probably the worst thing this show has done. I am so here for 'kennash' it's not even funny. And no I don't think they consummated the marriage, but I do believe they will before the season ends.
Mary was so great this episode and Francis being such a fanboy over her take charge attitude was everything to me.
I will say I didn't care for her going behind his back either, while Francis has stated very early on that his duty was to France he was always up front with Mary. I'm so super excited for this Francis and Mary angst though. I have been waiting for them to have drama in their relationship that didn't come from 'triangle' nonsense.
Lord Julien is for sure hiding something. Idk why I feel like maybe he is a part of this darkness story line.

Loved the episode. I've been waiting for this Mary to show up, her scene confronting Catherine after the fire was one of my favourite scenes the show has had so far and was made even better by Mary slapping Catherine.
I'm not really liking Bash/Kenna but that's because I want Bash/Mary. I'm still holding out hope on this happening again, even if its just briefly. Also, as much as I like Alan Van Sprang as Henry, I thinking prolonging both his and Francis' death won't be good for the show. The storyline has to move forward and nothing will drive us toward the Mary, Queen of Scots we've been really waiting on more than Francis' death. This is why I think it'd be perfect for Henry to die in the finale so Francis becomes King and then Francis can die in the Season 2 winter finale, paving way for Mary to return to Scotland in the back end of Season 2.
Anyway, back to the episode. I'm really wary of Julien's intentions and it seems I'm not the only one. Am I alone in thinking that he maybe might have killed his previous wives and covered it up? It's only a theory but I could see it actually being possible. But I want Lola to be happy so I'm hoping she's just gonna end up being paranoid.

  5. Great review, as ever :) "I may love to hate Catherine but I have nothing but love for Megan Follows."

Couldn't have put it better myself Lilth, she is fab and just keeps getting better and better for me. This episode really put the Evil Queen promo in to prospective, Catherine's revenge over having to burn the marriage contract is going to bonkers, and i can't wait!

I think that the young man Henry saw in his hallucination is his older brother, Francis. He died as a teenager after being suspected of being poisoned (maybe by Catherine, or at least on her orders), and was someone Henry was very close to after they were both held prisoner by the Roman Emperor for three years as children. If he is starting to realise that he is facing death, I think he could also be facing up to the fact that he shouldn't have been king in the first place, he stole the throne from his brother.

  6. I think giving the whole love triangle BS really has helped make the show much stronger again, it seriously dented my interest in it for a while there! Last night's episode was the best it's been since the hiatus I think, it really delivered on all fronts. It still had aspects of romance without having to resort to teenage lovesick puppy eyed crap, and it made for much better drama because of it imo.

Fans hating Kenna has surprised me too, not sure what there is to hate there?

I have a feeling that the spoiler death that is coming will be Henry, or possibly one hinted at in the Evil Queen promo.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Oh, I'm so there with you on Lord Julien, there's something just not sitting right with him for me either. I don't buy that both his wives died naturally through childbirth, I don't know why but there's something up there imo!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yeah, I think Julien killed his wives too, he's well dodgy imo.

I don't think we'll be seeing Mary going back to Scotland by the end of season 2, there's a huge amount to tell in France yet. She and Francis were married for nearly 3 years, there were massive religious problems to go through, revolts, more Scottish issues, and that's just the real history, lol. I think there's at least 2-3 season worth there at least. Once she goes back Scotland things went downhill very fast for Mary, there's only a year of material there (v. interesting though it is) and then she's a prisoner for the rest of her life. The other problem being that the whole cast would have to be replaced, it would become a completely different show.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I like that theory.
I haven't met a Royal yet who isn't (at least secretly) smitten with Megan Follows. The cast both young and old is so great and talented and brings so much to the show. What if they decide to have Henry step down and let Francis rule in his stead? I really want to keep Alan around, LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I know what you mean, it's hard to imagine the show without him isn't it. Part of me thinks they are beefing up Mary's role now to be Catherine's foil, but it wouldn't be the same for me without the more tender moments/trust bond that Catherine and Henry have.

I can't watch the new promo on my phone, but if it's about poison & Catherine then I'm even more hopeful my theory is right as it means we should get some great stuff between the king & queen out if it...could Catherine start using his madness to her own advantage, prolong it or even led him to recklessly cause his own demise?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes, Mary is a BOSS! I loved the look on Francis face when she was demanding Catherine give up the contract. He was shocked and in awe of her. Mary may be a wife now but she was first a Queen. And on the subject of queens, Catherine was brutal having all those men killed. She is ruthless and I cant imagine Mary becoming anything that intense. Thank you again for all the friendly reminders. I do live tweet and I try to stream the show again over the weekend. It's too good of a show to have it thrown away with a short season. I NEED To see it continue!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I haven't been a big fan on Francis (he was entitled in the beginning for obvious reasons) but seeing him look at Mary like she was something special and recognizing her power and worth was great.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Great review. Spot on about your character analysis'. Can Penelope go already?!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Great article, I loved this episode. Specially Bash and Kenna's interactions, not because of a ship, I don't ship them quite yet thou it is certainlt a possibility, but for the way they are taking this fate that was forced upon them.
Most of all I loved Mary and the path she's taking, and I'm sorry but I did not like the way Francis underestimated her, first when he was SO surprised to see her men bow and specially when he didn't think possible the idea of Mary putting her country before his. Also that last scene beteen them really felt cold, they both in bed with an invisible wall beteen them, no wonder they don't get children.
In the end I ship Bash and Mary for the way they make each other better.
In this situation though I see Bash being good for Kenna and I like that too. But even if Bash ends up with Kenna and I was happy about that,m which I would, I still think Mary and Francis are a bit dead to me as a couple, I think a lot of their chemestry has been lost, and it's a pitty but it would take very good writting to make me ship them again.

  17. Yep, she still perf after all these years. Can't wait to check out the thing she directed. Great actors usually make for great directors as well.

    ReplyDelete
  18. But Francis didn't underestimate her. If anything he was so proud of her, he was her biggest fan the entire episode. If he underestimated her then and didn't think she was capable, he would have never agreed to that meeting and put her in potential harms way if he didn't support her 100%. The last scene, well Mary did go behind his back and was going to destroy France in order to help her own country, once again ripping everything from him. Why would he think she wasn't serious about her threat to Catherine when she never told him about it? Of course the last scene was cold because it's suppose to be that way. They both have their own countries to take care of and they are both in a hard spot. They know that this will put a strain on their relationship, it makes things awkward. It's called relationship drama and angst, everything isn't going to be all roses and sunshine.

Yeah, its a problem but we may not even get a Season 3, I'd rather all of the French part of the storyline be covered instead of leaving it there if the show gets cancelled next season. They could at least have her returning to Scotland in the Season 2 finale.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I rather see them be more positive about the show's future and make use of the abundant source material, than be defeatist and aiming to end the show in Season 2 from the out set. I'm sorry but I just don't see them doing that from the start of the season, it would be suicide for the show, when they should be concentrating on making it bigger and better, and attracting more people to watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. deathlyhallows9212 April 2014 at 23:09

There's no reason they can't be both. They can be positive and try and attract viewers while also making a plan just in case. There's nothing less satisfying than an unfinished story and if Mary doesn't return to Scotland then thats a huge chunk of her story unfinished. There's only so long they can drag out the space of her marriage considering we're already around 3-4 months into it in the space of a few episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He wasn't...not at all. He was in complete awe of her. Like he said in France the Queen is someone who is married to the King. It was just his experience not underestimation. She was commanding and compassionate. You could see how proud he was. He knows she special and now others see that too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Exactly! He knows exactly what Mary is capable of, it's not the first time he has seen her in that position. Remember the Tomas drama? And her renegotiating her alliance with France? Screwing with the line of succession to save Francis? He knows not to underestimate Mary. But Mary did go behind his back to do something that could have caused a civil war within France and really mess things up for him, so of course, why wouldn't Francis think she was serious about her threat? There is cause for concern so of course their is now distance between them. But you know people who dislike Francis tend to find anything to condemn him for, could you even imagine if he had done something like that to Mary? People would riot.

    ReplyDelete
  24. "But you know people who dislike Francis tend to find anything to condemn
him for, could you even imagine if he had done something like that to
    Mary? People would riot."

I started to say that but I didn't want to start a shipper war. Lol. The fact that Luana saw it like that, when almost everywhere else people were commenting that "Mary being bad ass turned Francis on", made me know it wasn't gonna matter what Francis does he'll be wrong in Luana's eyes.

Mary was completely wrong not in just what she did but how she did it. Francis was behind her even when she hatched a plan without discussing it with her. This whole time they have been waiting on the time when they would rule together and what does she do? Make another plan that basically would destroy his life and throw his country in turmoil....again. If she would've talked to him she might have been able to see that if France had infighting it would give England the perfect opportunity to attack Scotland. Because make not mistake the first thing Catherine would do is pull soldiers from Scotland's borders. Then Mary wouldn't have anything to be queen of.

The Francis haters used his love and duty for his country as a reason that Bash was the better man. "He will always put her first." Mary puts her love and duty for her country before her husband and they all praise her. I'm all for feminism but this is the biggest double standard ever. Even with Mary. I'm starting not to like her. She's putting everyone and everything before her husband yet she doesn't want a marriage like Catherine and Henry. She's doing a bang up job of making it just like that but on a bigger scale since there are two countries involved.

Even Lilith saying "But Mary only told Francis what he told her at the start of the season. So what is good for the goose is good for the gander." is one sided. Francis said that when they were only engaged. That is a big difference. He also told her that if they were to be married he would be by her side fully committed. Something he has done while she has lied to him and plotted against him. She's worried about threats from the outside while she's destroying their marriage from within.

The entire episode I felt just like Francis, in awe of her being a queen and then completely disappointed that she didn't have enough faith in him discuss her plan before she threatened his country. Maybe she should've married Bash. Bash wouldn't give a damn that she wanted to destroy France, he would go along with anything she wanted to do. Even if it was potentially disastrous.

  25. The series was supposed to be about Mary's time in France. My thinking is they shifted it that's why the voice over is gone from the intro. I feel like they're moving too fast. Some of the story arcs are being rushed. If they keep things going at this pace Henry and Francis will be dead by next season and she'll leave France. I don't think their ratings will survive a cast change and that's what they'll have to do if they move it to Scotland.

  26. Haha, yep. People are really hypocritical when it comes to Francis. For many, he can do no right, no matter the situation. I agree with everything, except I still love Mary.
And yes, people are saying well it's karma for Francis or now the role is reversed with Francis and Mary. But what people fail to realize is that Francis has NEVER put France before Mary. He has said he has a duty to France first, but the fact is he has never followed through with that. If anything Mary is the one that's always put her duty first.
Now watch when Francis does whatever it is that he does that puts a strain on his marriage in an upcoming episode, watch the amount of hate he will receive.

  27. Hi sorry, your comment is way too long and part of a conversation you're having with someone else so I didn't read it completley but I don't take kindly that you speak of me with someone else, if you have something to say to me or about me it's alright, here I am.

And regarding your comment "it wasn't gonna matter what Francis does he'll be wrong in Luana's eyes." that is absolutely not true. I had that impression when the episode ended and so I commented on it but ships are not really the most intereting thing about Reign to me, and so I don't hate Francis just for the sake of hating him. I'm glad they're adressing the complications of a marriage involved in so many politics but I do believe that that has killed a little bit of the romance, which is perfectly logical in that situation. But even if you care about my opinion or you don't I would thank you if you adressed that to me.

  28. I didn't want to start a fight over something like this but it seems you took it that way. Don't worry, I won't say anything to you or mention your name again. It's not that serious for me.
