Today's Early Overnight Ratings

This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)

If you are new to ratings or still confused, we recommend you read this excellent Ratings FAQ.

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

  2. Sure we did see a lot of CW errors, but I guess this one tops it

    CW Carrie Diaries 0.4 0.92.
    CW Supernatural (R) 0.3 0.77

    ReplyDelete
  3. Are these old ratings? Carrie Diaries is not on the air anymore

    ReplyDelete
  4. Wrong table I'm assuming. No Grimm or Hannibal

  5. This table is from Jan

  6. Please fix the tables!

  7. Yikes at UnF, but I kind of expected 1.0-1.1. Just tough to throw it out there after 7 months in a weird time slot.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Unforgettable was doing better in the summer, but CBS did zero promotion for it's return, so I saw this coming.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Grimm dropped a pretty decent amount, sadly. Hopefully it will rise back up next week since there isn't a week off between episodes

    ReplyDelete
  10. Unforgettable skews quite old. Seems it was doing better in summer.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Exactly, also, like Medium and CSI:NY, UnF is easily a 9 PM or, more like a 10 PM program. It's just not 8PM programming. At a minimum, at least it will get the show back on the radar in time for summer run. It will have 48 episodes after S3 run, so it's a true toss up if CBS pushes to get to syndication number. Since The Unit entered the market at 69 and Leverage, Flashpoint, etc. in low mid-70s, It's probably doable for them. Two seasons of 13 and they're at 74.

    ReplyDelete
  12. So CW top3 this week: Arrow 0.8; The 100 0.6; The Tomorrow People 0.5

    ReplyDelete
  13. Noo HoD.under a million again.0.3 even before finals?Sure hope it dosent adjust down.I thought it might rise since Joel was leaving this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hart of Dixie isn't doing too good, but I guess that's just what happens on Fridays (see also Nikita). Wonder if that will effect the amount of episodes of season four.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Very disappointing drop for Hannibal.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hannibal is not for everyone; everyone has a taste for different kinds of shows.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I doubt CBS will give it 3 more seasons just to hit syndication, unless they already have a syndication deal in the works.

  19. HoD does the same as TCD i'm being delusional here but have TCD a chance agains HoD? or HoD has the advantage cause of sindication?

    ReplyDelete
  20. TCD has almost zero chance. HOD will be renewed. The question is for how many episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  21. HoD has syndication in the bag, TCD doesn't.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I thought HoD was dead until they moved it to Fridays and it didn't completely plummet. Now I agree with you.

What's really surprising to me about The CW's low-rated shows right now is that among the other three bottom dwellers (not counting the assumed dead TCD) EW is ranking the shows' renewal chances in order of highest to lowest as follows:
    BatB
    Star-Crossed
    The Tomorrow People

I couldn't believe it. I'm still shaking my head over that one.

    ReplyDelete
  23. EuphemiaWonderlandApril 5, 2014 at 8:19 PM

The highest should be The Tomorrow People. Last BatB episode hit a 0.2.

    ReplyDelete
  24. You can feel free to take that issue up with Entertainment Weekly. Here's the full article:

    ReplyDelete
  25. It would be awesome if the people at EW grew some brain cells.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Right. I'm so glad that we have logical and realistic views on the fate of shows on SpoilerTV. Either EW need to do research, or stop doing these kinds of articles.

    ReplyDelete
  27. hmmm this show could do well with less special effects and more focus on the cast. its only 30 yrs from now and we dont need a new tech introduced in every episode.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The futuristic world they've attempted to create is already insufficient. There are many times when watching that show you'd never be able to tell that it wasn't set in the present day.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Aaaaaaand Friday will kill HoD. Unfortunately I think the supbar season isn't helping much either...

    ReplyDelete
  30. HoD is still quite a far away from syndication security but its odds are better than TCD.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've heard from a friend who occasionally works on B&tB rumors on set are that the show's pretty much done for. And the ratings back that story up 100% so I dunno what EW is talking about...

    ReplyDelete
  32. The fact that the show was doing so abysmally in the ratings that The CW can practically double those ratings by showing repeats of select other programs in its place renders all of this irrelevant.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It needs only another season for syndication. It may get a deal where they can do with fewer than 88 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hmmm ratings, I don't invest all my hopes in ratings as they are not accurate and shows that are sold internationally are bringing in more viewers there than here in US. The CW have good shows but their pairings are not perfect. HOD have huge following but then the writing became silly and confusing and people lost interest, so my point being not always the networks pairings at fault.
Of course would like to see all the shows do well and return especially for all the actors and crew and the fans and each of us get invested in whatever show we like. I being more in the mature end of the audience like to watch HOD and BATB and would like to see them return. The others shows never watched and not interested but I see and hear great things about all of them. Please do not attack when I say this but I do see BATB get a 3 rd season, maybe a shorter one but I do think it will happen due to their international sales. I am European and travel back and fort a lot and friends and family ask me about US show spoilers all the time. It's really strange because I get asked about President Obama and TV shows-:) but Obama is number one and always positive....maybe a guest star appearance from him would help with ratings lol
Cheers to all and good luck to shows on the bubble, hope alllllllll get renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  35. International Viewers have no relevance in terms of Renewal.

The only people that pay for a show are the US advertisers.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thank you. You could be right but not what I am hearing. Cheers mate:))

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ok, but I'm not sure what you're "hearing" but whoever is telling you otherwise is very wrong :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. No worries, stay positive and be nice:)))

    ReplyDelete
  39. Please delete a couple of these here in a minute....but you guys love to draw out the fans, not working with me Dark...lol. I know how this works. I am very your SF offices...let's put it that way:)))))))

    ReplyDelete
  40. Not sure I know what this means ... "I am very your SF offices"

    ReplyDelete
  41. I guess it will do better when the adjusted ratings are in...a lot of people seem to record the show instead. It is on Friday evening, after all, the target group has other plans than sitting in front of the TV.

    ReplyDelete
  42. The CW makes money by selling the rights to their shows overseas – Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia… Dark the reality of it is that TV shows come and go and we know they are NOT reality so at end of the day it is just a show. If you like it enjoy it and if not find another. We have many to choose from and how cool is that here in US. It's not about being right or wrong, just my input and trying to stay positive about ratings, not for the shows I like but all shows..that is all:))

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well I hope you're right as BATB is one of the most popular shows on SpoilerTV, however from our experience of tracking these things over the last 7 years it's a very remote possibility

    ReplyDelete
  44. The fact that they pulled it from the schedule is the biggest telling factor for me. The biggest factor it had before the schedule pull-out was that it was owned by CBS, but that factor was mitigated with the renewal of Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah, I'd say the significant summer burn-off speaks volumes.

    ReplyDelete
  46. They do get money from oversea sales, DVD sales, product placement, and other things, but the bulk of the money that pays for a series to be made comes from US advertisers. They are what allow shows to be renewed and they pay for American eyeballs, nothing else unfortunately. Now if BatB were close to syndication, that could offset the original costs. However it is not and that would mean floating the show for 2 more years in hopes that syndication money would eventually pay for the cost of salaries, production, marketing, licensing, and everything else. Really the only thing that could possibly still be in play here is the Netflix deal, but they don't pay as much for BatB as they do some other shows so that's not likely either.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks Dahne, yes, see what your saying and I understand. Not long to wait as should know in May about BATB. Honestly I would love to watch all the shows but I try not to be in front of TV on my time off, which can be very little some days. I got interested in BATB by just pure chance and with Hulu and watch it religiously since:).

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thank you Dark. I do know you have lots of experience with the tracking and I appreciate your input, honestly I do:)) if BATB get renewed I am sure you will be kept busy, if not you will be kept busy anyway. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I have had many of my favorite shows get cancelled and I have a few that I am holding on to hop until May on as well. I know how you feel. It's always sad when a show you've come to love is cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  50. BatB is a cheap co production and will have 44 episodes at the end of this second season ,making it closer to syndication than SC,TTP which are in thier first seasons and far way from syndication.BatB had some network support last season it sounded like.TTP lost half it's audience and declined all season and couldn't keep good ratings with a good leadinwhile BatB has been stable ratings wise.I also think EW put BatB highest cause they said a couple months ago"BatB has a shot at returning since CW likes to give its vetran shows a wrap up season".However, they've already had enough time to write a proper ending for BatB and BatB isn't vetran enough to warrant a short final season.

    ReplyDelete
  51. With the cost-cutting FOX would likely demand, I'd be frightened to see what kind of 'future' AH would be capable of portraying in season 2. AH's version was already dubious in my eyes throughout season one.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The Intelligence and Community bits are total rubbish. The Almost Human one... well, if The Following can get an EARLY renewal with the numbers it gets, you'd think AH has half a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  53. That article also has some... interesting opinions on shows like Intelligence, Almost Human, and Community.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wow, a 1.0 for Unforgettable's return? That's about 0.4 higher than I expected.

    ReplyDelete
  55. The episode of Hannibal was one of the best TV-show-episodes in TV history. But people prefer to watch a lot of crap instead of this. This is very sad.
