This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. Sunday 4/27/14 Metered Markets
Clean Sweep for CBS
Household
Rating/Share
CBS 6.6/11
ABC 4.2/ 7
NBC 2.9/ 5
Fox 2.1/ 3
-Percent Change from the Year-Ago Evening – Sunday 4/28/13:
ABC: +11, NBC: – 3, CBS: – 6, Fox: -12
—–
-Winners:
“60 Minutes” (CBS), “The Good Wife” (CBS)
-Leveled Off and Expected to Return:
“Resurrection” (ABC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“American Dream Builders” (NBC), “Bob’s Burgers” (Fox), “American Dad!” (Fox), “Crisis” (NBC)
—–
-Ratings Breakdown:
It was a clean Sunday overnight household sweep for CBS with its combination of granddaddy “60 Minutes” (#1 for the night: 7.7 rating/14 share), “The Amazing Race” (5.8/10), “The Good Wife” (7.0/11) and on-the-fence “The Mentalist” (6.1/11), which is currently in search of a new home should CBS cancel it. Most likely to keep “The Mentalist” alive: TNT.
With Sunday remaining a respectable, but non-extraordinary evening for the Eye net, it looks like a new drama will step in the try to ignite interest opposite Football next fall on NBC. Stay tuned…CBS announces its fall line-up to the media on Wednesday, May 14 with what is always a stellar presentation.
On ABC, “Resurrection” returned after a one week absence with a second-place 5.0/ 8 in the overnights from 9-10 p.m., which built from demo friendly lead-in “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” (4.3/ 7 at 8 p.m.) by 16 percent. Now that “Resurrection” has settled in, it is certain to return next season.
Next on the alphabet net was tired “Revenge” at a second-place 3.7/ 6 at 10 p.m., which was 27 percent below the 9:30 p.m. portion of “Resurrection” (5.1/ 8). Earlier in the evening on ABC was veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at a reliable (and second-place) 3.9/ 7 at 7 p.m. Now that Tom Bergeron has announced his departure after next season, it will not be easy replacing him.
Over at NBC, recent entry “American Dream Builders” is waiting for the proverbial axe to swing with a distant third-place 1.9/ 4 at 7 p.m. But “Dateline” perked up to a 4.0/ 7 at 8 p.m. (#3), which was an 111 percent improvement. Freshman dramas “Believe” and “Crisis” remain question marks for renewal next season, with “Believe” standing a better chance at a 3.3/ 5 at 9 p.m. (#3). Comparably, that was equal to one week earlier, matching the show’s highest rating since debuting in the time period on March 16 (with a 4.5). “Crisis” was also consistent, but a 2.6/ 4 at 10 p.m. (#3) was 21 percent below “Believe.”
Note: Part of NBC’s line-up was pushed back into late night on the Portland affiliate last night.
Fox capped off the night with overnight growth from one week earlier of 24 percent with its line-up of “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 1.5/ 3), “American Dad!” (#4: 1.6/ 3), “The Simpsons” (#4: 2.4/ 4), “Family Guy” (#4: 2.7/ 4) and “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey” (#4: 2.4/ 4). Once “Cosmos” concludes, “Family Guy” will move back to 9 p.m.

ReplyDeleteResurrection is okish, should rise next week
Revenge ouch! (Hopefully it can rise to a 1.5 for the finale)- ABC needs to announce S4 as the final one and hope for a ratings bump
For what it counts, Revenge ties as #1 in its timeslot... but that's not saying much when it's a 1.2 >_<
ReplyDeleteThis show doesn't deserve those low ratings! Final 4th season incoming, but I'm ok with it
Good good for OUAT!

ReplyDeleteOh, it was aejiadandaikdnq LOVED IT!
ReplyDeleteYU kno count Bob's Burgers?
ReplyDeleteSure I just thought maybe somebody who knows about this stuff can answer that too :)
ReplyDeleteShit for revenge. The combination of at 10pm and a weeks break killed the ratings for this episode.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great episode, best in ages. So it's not revenge the tv shows but things ABC is doing.
