  1. Ward kills Hand. Hands down (no pun intended).
That's when the episode really blew my mind.

  2. Fitz telling Garret he is going to suffer. Oh, and Fitz casually dropping the line about making the thing that saved Fury's life in the movie.

    So, basically, Fitz.

  3. Ward killing Hand and her protector agents for the Win. While Garrett is Hydra i hardly think he is devoted to their cause unlike possibly Ward.

  4. actually we don't know if she dead we never saw the body just two shots could be non lethal bullets

  5. I think that Ward is working undercover. You can tell that his feeling for Skye are real and I think he is trying to protect her. I'm sure that Hydra still wants Skye because of that cure that saved her and he will stop at nothing to prevent that.
As well what about that look/nod that Coulson and Garrett gave eachother before Ward left and when he saw Garrett as a traitor and Coulson telling him about it, he litterally looked shocked by it. But on the plane he really looked cold so i guess he was trying to turn off his emotions but you could kindof see it in his eyes.

Hope that next episode that it is revealed/confirmed that Ward is working undercover and that the promo was just trying to throw us off.

I still can't believe Ward. This has to be him working undercover for Hydra or something. I LOVE WARD & SKYE. And, I actually think Skye is about to become a huge part of this. AND hopefully we will understand why she is an 084 soon, before the season.

  7. Unless Ward's Bi-piolar there has to be some sort of explanation for his HYDRA status. My best guess is that he felt so bad for killing an innocent man hes trying to make it right. But killing Hand and the soldiers didnt help LOL.

  8. soooo many great scenes to choose from, but the topper absolutely was the major flip of the script, making Ward the mole/enemy... this was almost as Whedonesquely awesome a turn of events as when Whedon turned Angel into Angelus..... we'll just have to wait and see how this will turn out to see if Ward is redeemable....

  9. And also the thing that later on pretty much saved Black Widow, Falcon and Cap.
Seriously, Fitz was great this episode.

  10. So many to choose from... Well, I have to go with Garrett's little explanation after Coulson realized he was the clairvoyant, but Ward killing Hand was close second, followed by Hands HYDRA speech to find out if Simmons and/or Triplett were HYDRA agents in thisd place.

  11. It makes no sense for him, as an undercover agent, to kill one of the only remaining high ranking SHIELD officials. Even if it did gain Garrett's trust, there is NO WAY Coulson would sanction that kind of order.

From what I've seen being said about this episode, not many people saw Ward as the traitor. Him being the traitor IS what threw the audience off. Honestly, it would be pointless to go through all that spread out drama to reveal that he wasn't bad after all. Frankly, Ward being HYDRA is a bold move and a welcome one, because it makes us question everything he's done at this point. This whole episode was him lying off his ass to cover his mission.

  12. My theory is that he's a "legacy" HYDRA agent.... his family is probably composed of "top brass" HYDRA agents who infiltrated SHIELD, and Ward automatically inherited the same allegiance.

  13. I can't say that I enjoyed watching Ward kill Hand, because this episode proved how much of a BOSS she is. I hope she isn't dead, what a waste of a character that would be.

I enjoyed the Simmons/Triplett scene; Coulson realizing Garrett is HYDRA (his glassy, disbelieving stare was incredible); May telling Coulson that SHE was the brain behind Team Airbus and that she cared for him; Victoria Hand's "test" for Simmons and Triplett.

Also, this list is missing Iain's shining moment as Fitz, where he tearfully rejected Garrett's offer, saying that he would be one of the agents to bring him down. That was some masterful acting and it illustrates how far Fitz has come as a character and the depth of understanding Iain has for the character.

  14. Definitely the scene with Fitz crying and the scene with Simmons/Triplett! I hope they make Triplett a member of Coulson's team.

  15. Hes a specialist. We are told in the pilot that they get the job done and are pretty Cold Blooded. He mentioned to be almost as skilled as the Black Widow.

  16. i think think that Hand is not really dead.

  17. Coulson realizes Garrett is HYDRA best scene on AoS.....

  18. The whole episode pretty much! It was so damn awesome!! Except Coulson telling May she was an ally but not a friend, that made me sad. But that Boo-yah was seriously too adorable!! :3

  19. I really loved the Garrett reveal, his entire speech, Coulson calling him a psychopath, the threat he made against Fitz (and Fitz crying but being strong). Really great stuff.

Ward killing Hand didn't shock me too much, for the last couple of days I've been convinced a member of the team had to be Hydra and clearly May wasn't, none of the others made sense so I knew it had to be Ward and when the minutes were running out in the episode I was so tense because something just had to happen!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love Triplett as well he has nice chemistry with Simmons. If Ward somehow doesn't come back to the good side then Triplett as the new permanent member is fine with me.

  21. Haven't seen the ep yet, being from Europe I have to wait. Hate the fact that Ward is the mole, I agree it makes the character more interesting but only if he is redeemed in the end. I hope Hand isn't dead, from the comments I read she wasn t shot in the head so maybe ...It took me some time to warm up to this team and I hate the fact that now as they were all getting more comfortable with their characters and bonding as a team all is screwed up. For me it's fun only if the team is put back together again. If Brett was leaving we would know, right?

  22. I really liked the episode but I wonder if some of what has been happening lately was planned from the beginning. or if it was written into the show based on the events that transpired in the most recent Captain America movie. the show, to me, was more of a comedy/drama type superhero show. it seems like it's becoming increasingly darker and darker as of late. I don't mind dark on shows, Battlestar, Person of Interest, etc... but seeing AOS as a dark show just doesn't cut it for me as I always saw it is a fun, family type series. Just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  23. They knew from day one what was going to happen in Cap America, so its been planned. I think they tried keeping it more of a fun show to lure in family audiences and also keep everyone off the scent that this big twist which changes the MCU was going to happen.

  24. Am I the only one that realized Ward was the mole the way he spoke to May in the buses cell there? In fact, I am wondering if Ward is the Clarevoyent...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ward kills Hand, no question. I really liked Vic (even if we shouldn't call her that) and having Ward kill her really made it all the worse AND yet it also justified his existence on the show, which is quite the masterstroke.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I loved Coulson's eyes as Garrett was babbling away, it was such a perfect combination of 'oh shit' and despair

    ReplyDelete
  27. Phil : "No that's what make you a psychopath." was probably the best and Fitz threatening Garrett!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why didn't he shoot Hand in the head like the other two?
I don't think he is bad, all planned.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You know, his feelings for Skye CAN be sincere AND he can be a traitor, too. The two are not mutually exclusive, really! Althought I'm sure she'll be really pissed when she finds out! Melinda, too, since she did had a relationship with him (granted, it was just sex, but still). The two of them will surely kick his ass when they find out! :)

I do believe his treachery is true, that he's working for HYDRA and all. Maybe by the end he'll find a way to redeem himself or something, like doing the ultimate sacrifice, probably for Skye... I don't know! But for now, it feels like he's really working for HYDRA. It's just, how he killed the two guards AND Victoria Hand, for exemple, and how he seems to have been working for Garrett before Coulson knew he was the Clairvoyant... I don't know, we'll see! :)

  30. thats a good theory, i hope there is some redemption or explanation for the character i hate the thought of him not being apart of AC's little misfits family anymore i really liked the dynamic developing between him at fits, plus there is all that chemistry with Skye.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Fitz was an absolute star these past two episodes, he is really coming into his own as a character

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't see any chemistry between him and Skye, they feel more like kid sister and big brother. Plus it's such a cliched and boring "let's pair up the Young Hot Guy and the Young Hot Girl" type of tv relationship. I find them much more engaging when the show explores the characters separately.

  33. Fitz vowing to make Garrett suffer.

    ReplyDelete
  34. May tells Coulson she did it because of how much he means to her. - my heart broke, for both parties involved. Excellent performance by both Gregg and Wen.Coulson realizes Garrett is HYDRA - because who doesn't love watching Bill Paxton delightedly chomping on the scenery? There was some great dialogue there, too ("No, that makes you a psychopath" - ha). And Fitz tearing up, damn. They did make it kind of obvious *right* before the reveal with Garrett being so forceful about the need to kill Hand.
Ward kills Hand - because DUHHHH. Although, again, they kind of telegraphed the big twist by having Ward insist on escorting Garrett to his holding cell. I just knew he would at least exchange some ominous dialogue with Garrett or something that would reveal he's Hydra. But I didn't realize he would shoot 3 freaking agents, including Hand, until she suggested that he kill Garrett and he pulled out the gun.

Other - lots of options:The early Coulson/Skye/May/Fitz confrontation - I love it when mistrust spreads among the team and everybody doesn't know who to trust. It makes for great TV.Ward/May in the interrogation room - not really an important scene, but pretty powerful.
Hand testing Simmons and Tripplet's loyalty - clever and genuinely surprising.Ward's big hallway fight scene - DAMN, that was badass. Awesome moves.

  35. I'd take Ward with anyone - May, Simmons, Fitz, Lola - over Skye. That relationship is so trite, predictable and cliche. From the very first scene they shared, it was like there was a large neon sign hanging there saying "OTP, people!!!! TRUE LUV!!!!!!!!!!". It never seemed organic or subtle.

  36. I knew this episode was going to be intense after seeing Captain America Thursday night, but I had no idea it would be this intense. Garrett seriously fooled me (just like Sitwell, grrrrr), so I was shocked when he was revealed to be the Clairvoyant and Hydra. The same goes for Grant being Hydra. I kind of hope that it doesn't turn out he's undercover or something similar, since it would be more interesting character-wise for him to just be a bad guy.

  37. For me: The Skyeward KISS, the Coulson/May talk where she reveals how much he means to her, and OTHER: The FitzSimmons emotional hug that really got to me! She ran into his arms, and he just held onto her. This was after Fitz had to kill someone for the first time and went through a huge ordeal. And so I loved that he got comfort from the one person who means the most to him.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Right? It's so heavy-handed, I'm not buying it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. you can think what you want...but the chemistry is there!

  40. Ward kills Hand. What a twist. Angel/Angelus level of twist!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks for adding that scene! It was the next one on my list!

    ReplyDelete
  42. That's what other is for! It was an absolutely fantastic scene - come back for my review of this episode, and I promise I won't forget to praise Iain to the sky for that scene!

    ReplyDelete
  43. The show hasn't even been renewed yet! Anything could happen....

    ReplyDelete
  44. Definitely planned right from the beginning. And I find the show has the same tone as the movies - which is appropriate.

  45. 'No, John, this is you being a psychopath'
