    Neither did I. I've heard people say it's just like John in season 1, but the story then was about John not calling.

    That was really the only thing I liked about the ep, it was funny. Don't care for the hunter AT ALL, David is OK.

    Actually, the whole thing starts with John calling - Dean plays the call back for Sam in the Pilot. And he does call again at the beginning of Scarecrow...
