I didn't think Enzo would die so fast, but obviously he'll stick around as a ghost until the Other Side is gone. It's good to know that Luke is okay, and it seems that the plan was to protect the doppelgangers all along. I just don't understand why Liv told Jeremy in a previous episode that she was going to kill Elena. That's what caused the rift between her and Bonnie. I'm not surprised that Bonnie is in denial right now. She usually is. It was refreshing to see Elena paying attention enough to call her on it, and for once Elena fought for herself when Enzo was trying to kill her. Elena might have the potential to be a badass if she spends enough time without anyone to protect her. Sure, Enzo snapped her neck, but at least she put up a fight.
It was a welcome change to see drama between the Salvatore brothers for once that didn't involve Elena. This reminded me of an article I read in which Julie Plec said that producers worked out years ago how Elena would leave the brothers and how they would end up walking away from each other. I know that Season 6 will involve "picking up the pieces" from something, but I get the feeling that there will be a short break from the love triangle in the near future. The Delena drama might stick around for a while, but I don't think it'll be as annoying as it has been, and I doubt it will be a central story coming into next season
While I'm pleased to see Tyler fighting off a passenger, I am in shock about the reversal of immortality. I was just as shocked as Tyler was, and now we know why he's going to warn the doppelgangers to go on the run, and why the Mystic Falls population will end up fighting a war for their town. Am I the only one seeing a parallel between this and things that are supposed to happen on The Originals (i.e., rumors of the extermination of vampires)? I'm not surprised that the Travelers have the power to reverse immortality. I called it a long time ago. They're ancient witches who practice a different kind of magic, so the usual rules don't apply. However, I truly hope that the entire vampire population doesn't become human. That would be lame, and it would negate the purpose of the show being titled "The Vampire Diaries." I might be interested to see maybe one or two of them become human, though.
The manhunt for the doppelgangers in next week's episode, along with what is probably Enzo's revenge, looks exciting. I am disappointed, however, that Stefan and Elena's secret has to be about Enzo being dead. Of all things they could be keeping to themselves, why does it have to be about him?
I was surprised that Caroline's absence was noted. Usually when a character doesn't appear in an episode, no one mentions them. Then Sheriff Forbes popped up for a small cameo. I have a feeling that all hands are on deck right now because characters who have been on the show a long time are going to die. The writers might be trying to keep us guessing about who will stay and who will go. I'm not concerned with the rumors that the characters might all end up in an alternate dimension. If it's some kind of afterlife, I'm sure they'll find their way out either within a few episodes or by the end of the season. If the "new world" refers to Mystic Falls as a wasteland in the absence of humans because they all had passengers in them, then I can see that being something huge to deal with. Whoever said this arc wouldn't be exciting is mistaken. The stakes are extremely high now.
I hated Damon putting the guilt trip on Stefan for not finding him when he was also guilty of not checking up on Stefan during the summer. Stefan did send Lexi to lookout for Damon [which I don't blame Stefan for since Damon had a tendencies to make him go Ripper in those days] and look how he treated Lexi, Also how was Stefan to know Damon was being kept in a secret cell, for a secret experiment. Why would Stefan sought out the brother that promised to make his life a misery anyway.
So I loved them in the same scene without Elena, but didn't like their conversation. But I suppose its the writers way to give the next episode a shock effect.
The doppleganger blood apparently only reverts them to their final human state?...The girl ended up dying once she turned back human. So I don't think any vamps would survive to be human for very long.
Umm, i didn't mind it at all. That whole thing with Lexi, Damon's humanity was off at the time, so idc how he treated her. It was messed up sure. But the switch was off. I still like Lexi though. And Stefan sent Lexi after Damon, just like Damon begged Lexi to help Stefan, or when Lexi told Damon to leave Stefan even though he wanted to be with Stefan. Damon at least kept up with him over the years, so from Damon's POV, i can understand his anger. From Stefan's POV at the time, for him it was more out of sight, out of mind, until Damon showed his face again. So "how was Stefan to know Damon was being kept in a secret cell, for a secret experiment." That's exactly the problem, Stefan never looked. Shrugs. It is what it is.
I loved their conversation. I liked all of the brothers scenes in this episode. B/c they at least got everything out in the open. So it was all truth to heal emotional wounds, etc etc etc. I also liked that Damon didn't hesitate to come to Stefan's defense. (not like he hasn't before but it was still nice) and how he wanted Enzo to take it out on him, and leave Stefan and Elena out of it. I think he did good tonight.
I'm confused as to why Markos didn't just give the doppelganger blood to Tyler to drink and wait and see if he dropped dead. It seems like that would have been just as effective - and you'd get to skip the step of turning someone into a vampire. It's actually how I thought the cure it would work - it would cure vampires but they'd just be dead once they were cured.
I didn't expect them to get rid of Enzo so soon. I guess he'll be taunting Bonnie in the episodes to come?
That's a shame about Enzo, I was starting to like him when he was "good" and he was helping the gang and flirting with Caroline. Now, not only is he dead but he's all evil ghosty. Blah.
I think it was because maybe the passenger in Tyler is of more use to him then the one in the girl? Or the girl itself, it wasn't clear if that was her real body or not....
Bonnie is already dead and she should have stayed that way. Being the anchor is should be a terrible fate (look what happened to Amara) - she has to feel the deaths of so many people, it should be better for her to die and move on than end up like Amara and be a corporeal ghost in constant pain.
Only Nina, Paul & Ian are in all the episodes. Jeremy, Matt, Tyler and Bonnie were all in this one so it was once again time for Caroline to sit one out. Caroline has been in 16 (of the 19 episodes so far this season), Matt & Jeremy have been in 15, Bonnie has been in 15 and Tyler in 11.
I think Stefan told everyone that he was leaving town. He told Lexi he was planning to go to Portland so him taking some time out wasn't all that suspicious because everyone thought he needed some distance from Damon/Elena for a little while.
I get that Stefan wanted space and Damon, who appeared ecstatic to have his brother back at the start of S5 but not realising it's Silas, even though he has started many times over the seasons that he KNOWS his little brother better than anyone, gave him that space. I'm talking about his giving Stefan the guilt trip, when he should know what it feels like to not have family there when you need them. Didn't Stefan give a SHORT speech about wanting Damon and Elena to find him first. These are two brothers who go decades without seeing each other because of their stubbornness, and yet Stefan was supposed to know Damon was captured for 5 years? How would he have found out and how would he know where to look even if they were on good terms? To stick the blame on him for that, considering their history and what just happened this summer!! was lousy writing.
But I can see this is a way to keep the tension between the brothers on going since Stefan doesn't seem interested in keeping the triangle going. This is meant to be the shock effect when one of the brothers kicks the bucket.....briefly!
An how is that any different to Damon walking out leaving Stefan in Lexi's charge. Why would Damon think suddenly Stefan will come after him, when the brothers are used to not talking in decades. I would understand it if somehow Damon got the message out to Stefan that he needed help, and it never reached him, but to assume that Stefan would know.....Stefan only found out about Augustine and Damon when Elena got taken. an even then Damon brushed it off as nothing.
Bad writing! They can't handle any other kinds of relationships that doesn't involve instant attraction!
I know. I was being a dick. lol...Seriously though, in layman's terms, he wants to make them human, so he can kill them, permanently...it's kinda lame. I was hoping for more than that. But then again, they went that direction with the books, only a little different. So w/e i'll take it.
Yeah, it really sucks for her. I didn't cry when they had the funeral for Bonnie. I didn't shed one tear. If she ends up dying again. We'll see. but i seriously doubt i'll be crying. I never warmed up to her.
Well i'm used to the rest of them not appearing in all episodes. Caroline hasn't been out of an episode in idk how long. So when i was expecting to see her especially after last week, i was very disappointed.
Idt Damon was intentionally giving him the guilt trip. I think he was just venting his feelings that he suppressed for so long. And i believe if Damon can find Stefan throughout the years, no matter how long time has passed, that Stefan can find Damon as well. That's just how i see it.
Tbh, since last week, (tonight being the next day) for the first time I can honestly say the triangle is broken. Stefan sees a friend in her. She sees a friend in him. She's in love with Damon, and Damon wants nothing to do with her. (Which she deserves) so that's a breath of fresh air for now. I'm good with all of it. Lol as long as I get my GPC scenes. (Not a hook up, I just enjoy their scenes alone) then I'm fine for the rest of the season.
Proves the writers don't see or acknowledge past episodes. The first time Stefan told Elena about Damon, he said clearly, that Damon finds him over the years and all he does is cause grief and mayhem. Stefan doesn't need to find Damon since he did anyway. An in those days Stefan was still trying to control his ripper, why would he want to be around his brother that pushes the wrong buttons around him. I get the scene was a plot device to cause conflict later, but surely they could come up with better. Making it seem that Damon was carrying this huge grudge yet he mention it now, never came up all the times the brothers had a good punch up.
Well can you blame him? We already know the reasons why Damon "kept his promise" to Stefan in the first place. I mean it's been 5 years, i'm kinda over that subject. Honestly, they've moved past it. The writing now, however, the writers have dug themselves into a hole. A huge one. Like a black hole. LOL And i think they're slowly trying to get out of it, or at least i hope so. = /
I didn't cry at her funeral because it felt awkward to me. I knew there was no way that she was gonna stay dead, so mourning her felt off. The thing with Bonnie holding Jeremy's hand felt comical because all I could picture was what it would look like on their end with Jeremy holding out his hand to open space, lol. Then of course there was the hypocrital nature of it all, because him seeing Anna was stealing away his future and keeping him from real live girls but Bonnie got a free pass because she was Elena's friend. Not saying I dislike Bonnie and I wanted her to be alone but I saw the hypcrocity of it and didn't approve.
Lmao, nah the travelers stuff wasn't in the books. I'm talking about something else. That I won't mention. LOL...but no they still go with the book stuff, here and there just not a lot. But when they do I pick up on it.
Honestly, I didn't expect Bonnie to come back. B/c before Bonnie when they actually have a funeral for someone that's pretty much it. (Jenna, Alaric). So she came back as a ghost, then that just felt flat, to me anyway. I really didn't see her coming back from the dead. Jeremy OTOH, for some reason I knew he'd return, I just didn't know when and how, but when Katherine fed him to Silas, and Silas broke his neck I did tear for him. Jenna I cried for her. Alaric I balled my freaking eyes out when he was sitting next to Damon having their romance moment. And i loved Alaric so much!! Hell I even teared for Rose, b/c Damon giving her that dream, then the "someone's about to die music" came on, then Damon's tears. Ugh, (touches chest) that was beautifully done. I didn't even like Rose like that!! I cried for Carol too. I even cried when Elena laid on the slab before she woke up thus, us realizing she was turned into a vamp. The music, and the flashbacks with her and her parents, to the present, all of it repeating its self, is what did it. But Bonnie, nope, not a blip. LOL
When Bonnie was holding Jeremy's hand?? When? On the couch? I must've missed that. Or blanked out for a minute. Lol I don't pay attention much when Beremy's on the scene. Lol
Finally a decent episode despite we all knew that damon killed maggie weeks ago,the ending played out quite unexpectedly!! Enzo dead but coming back as a revengy ghost and finally realising why the traveller's plan would be a threat to the mystic falls residents was good development. As far as the three permament deaths caroline dries talked about,my guess would be bonnie, tyler and either liv or luke.Permanent comeback-most probably enzo coz otherwise they wouldn't have streched his storyline up until season finale only to go away forever. And the other one would be alaric.Hints of that was dropped by elena in this episode.I would also love to see lexi coming back, but that's probably unlikely in these circumstances. Can't wait to see how this all plays out till the finale!!
It's a pretty big part of the "funeral". Everyone is all sad and crying, but wait! They all one by one stop and see Jeremy hold his hand out and on "OUR" side we see he's holding Bonnie's hand and that helps calm their tears that Bonnie is still with them and she isn't alone because she can talk to Jeremy. But I always got stuck on the fact that THEY couldn't see Bonnie, so Jeremy is just holding his hand out. It made me giggle @ how silly it must look, lol.
It never fails every episode for them to focus on how we should feel “sorry” for Damon because his life just sucks soooo much let’s see just how “tough” of a year he had? Stefan drowned constantly for months! Damon took away Elena’s consent/humanity, stole Elena from Stefan, spent the summer murdering families, screwing Elena, and forgetting Stefan’s existence….you will NOT get me to feel sorry for this asshole. Stefan was drowning over and over in a box at the bottom of the quarry while Damon was blissfully ignorant and you think you had it bad? He was right at the end talking to Stefan about how it was HIS fault for bringing Enzo into their lives ALL his fault.
He thinks that just because he bulges those blue eyes into the screen we’re suppose to feel sympathy for him because his BFF is feeling hurt over a girl who Damon himself killed? No Sir you are a grown ass man, Enzo had it right telling Stefan to stop coddling him! Damon has terrorized and killed so many people, and never shows any remorse for it or owns up to anything, yet when it comes to hurting his BS feelings he wants to get defensive all of a sudden. Just about 2 or 3 episodes ago Damon and Enzo were torturing Jeremy and Bonnie to hurt Elena but want us to feel sorry for their sob stories? Hell no, screw both of them.
The fact that they actually had Stefan say that he’s a “crappy brother” makes me angry beyond words. Everything he did in this episode showed the complete opposite of that. He took the blame for killing Maggie to save Bonnie, he saved Elena, and as always protected Damon as well. He loves his brother so much that he’d sacrifice anything for him and he has. that conversation at the end made no sense. I got the feeling Damon was trying to make Stefan feel guilty because Enzo always reminded Damon to care about him like WTF? So Stefan should feel indebted to Enzo because he took up for him when you didn’t? That’s why i can’t get behind them as brothers, Stefan loves Damon so much and would do anything for him but Damon can’t do the same. Need i remind everyone that Damon killed Lexi, who was Stefan’s best friend and he did it wit NO remorse but does Stefan hold that over his head? No. He’s taken everything from Stefan yet feels the need to make him feel guilty about leaving him in a cell? F*ck you, Damon.
Markos said that Sloan volunteered to be the test subject"guinea pig". So I imagine that is why she died. Once he realized it worked he killed her because she also became human and lost her traveler abilities. She was of no use.
So the Dopplegangers want to make Mystic Falls their home and want it to be a vampire free zone? I feel like there is still more to it. Theories guys? Please...thanks
but everybody who turned into vamp had to die to do so. So their last human status was when they died...marcos just wanted to check if he can mess with witches magic with the use of thaT blood. There is no cure.
Aww. He was just an overprotective older brother driven crazy by repeated daggers to the heart! It was sweet! In it's totally creepy murderous way, lol. Matt's hand healed super quick anyways even though he declined vamp blood... which was weird that it healed that fast without the blood.. but whatevs, it's tv, what do you expect? lol
It's kind of a cure? It does remove vampirism, unfortunately since it does that, it kills you since to turn you have to die first so you get reverted back to the dead state. So, no one in their right mind would want that ghetto assed cure anyways, lol.
He hurt Matt! that was enough. well that was his first mistake! And i didn't like how he spoke to Rebekah. AND he wouldn't listen to her! And b/c Matt is the best! hell with all the injuries he's endured, i wouldn't be surprised if he had some home remedies. lol and nuh huh! lmao....it took him like a month maybe a little over to get that cast off his arm. Awww. good times. lol
Damon didn't STOLE Elena from Stefan.. she is not an object .. it was her own choice. Both, Stefan and Damon, are no angels... Stefan killed Andie, Stefan didn't care that he was hurting Damon by wanting Katherine (he said it himself) and and and.. I won't make a list who did what wrong.. they both made mistakes
Ah thanks. They started as GPC Because I was the biggest Stelena fan but now (especially since I hated Elena in seasons 4 and 5 so much and I love Caroline so so much) I want them to be endgame.

ReplyDeleteWhen Bonnie was holding Jeremy's hand?? When? On the couch? I must've missed that. Or blanked out for a minute. Lol I don't pay attention much when Beremy's on the scene. Lol
One thing: Did you really have to kill him?
ReplyDeleteFinally a decent episode despite we all knew that damon killed maggie weeks ago,the ending played out quite unexpectedly!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty big part of the "funeral".
ReplyDeleteIt never fails every episode for them to focus on how we should feel
ReplyDelete“sorry” for Damon because his life just sucks soooo much let’s see just
how “tough” of a year he had? Stefan drowned constantly for months! Damon took away Elena’s consent/humanity,
stole Elena from Stefan, spent the summer murdering families, screwing
Elena, and forgetting Stefan’s existence….you will NOT get me to feel
sorry for this asshole. Stefan was drowning over and over in a box at
the bottom of the quarry while Damon was blissfully ignorant and you
think you had it bad? He was right at the end talking to Stefan about
how it was HIS fault for bringing Enzo into their lives ALL his fault.
He thinks that just because he bulges those blue eyes into the screen
we’re suppose to feel sympathy for him because his BFF is feeling hurt
over a girl who Damon himself killed? No Sir you are a grown ass man,
Enzo had it right telling Stefan to stop coddling him! Damon has
terrorized and killed so many people, and never shows any remorse for it
or owns up to anything, yet when it comes to hurting his BS feelings he
wants to get defensive all of a sudden. Just about 2 or 3 episodes ago
Damon and Enzo were torturing Jeremy and Bonnie to hurt Elena but want
us to feel sorry for their sob stories? Hell no, screw both of them.
The fact that they actually had Stefan say that he’s a “crappy brother”
makes me angry beyond words. Everything he did in this episode showed
the complete opposite of that. He took the blame for killing Maggie to
save Bonnie, he saved Elena, and as always protected Damon as well. He loves his brother so much that he’d sacrifice anything for him and he has. that conversation at the end made no sense. I got the feeling Damon was
trying to make Stefan feel guilty because Enzo always reminded Damon to
care about him like WTF? So Stefan should feel indebted to Enzo because
he took up for him when you didn’t? That’s why i can’t get behind them
as brothers, Stefan loves Damon so much and would do anything for him
but Damon can’t do the same. Need i remind everyone that Damon killed
Lexi, who was Stefan’s best friend and he did it wit NO remorse but does
Stefan hold that over his head? No. He’s taken everything from Stefan
yet feels the need to make him feel guilty about leaving him in a cell?
F*ck you, Damon.
I didn't care about Kol...He broke Matt's hand. lmao.
ReplyDelete"But he's all evil ghosty. Blah." You sound like Buffy. lol
ReplyDeleteI think it was only after Markos killed her in her final human state, meaning she lost her travelers abilities and he saw no use for her.
ReplyDeleteMarkos said that Sloan volunteered to be the test subject"guinea pig". So I imagine that is why she died. Once he realized it worked he killed her because she also became human and lost her traveler abilities. She was of no use.
ReplyDeleteSo the Dopplegangers want to make Mystic Falls their home and want it to be a vampire free zone? I feel like there is still more to it. Theories guys? Please...thanks
ReplyDeletetravellers not dopples.
ReplyDeleteF-i-l-l-e-r episode about secondary character and his silly subplot love story...
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? I grew up on Joss Whedon shows and find all pretenders to be lacking, lol. :p
ReplyDeleteMy bad. Thanks
ReplyDeletebut everybody who turned into vamp had to die to do so. So their last human status was when they died...marcos just wanted to check if he can mess with witches magic with the use of thaT blood. There is no cure.
ReplyDeleteAww. He was just an overprotective older brother driven crazy by repeated daggers to the heart! It was sweet! In it's totally creepy murderous way, lol. Matt's hand healed super quick anyways even though he declined vamp blood... which was weird that it healed that fast without the blood.. but whatevs, it's tv, what do you expect? lol
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of a cure? It does remove vampirism, unfortunately since it does that, it kills you since to turn you have to die first so you get reverted back to the dead state. So, no one in their right mind would want that ghetto assed cure anyways, lol.
ReplyDeleteYeah I had to re-watch the episode and I figured it out. So it not a cure any vampire would want to take.
ReplyDeleteWhat is gpc scenes?
ReplyDeleteHa! who hasn't grown up with JW? lol
ReplyDeleteHe hurt Matt! that was enough. well that was his first mistake! Awww. good times. lol
ReplyDeleteGuilty pleasure couple.
ReplyDeleteUncultured heathens. :p
ReplyDeleteWhatever doesn't kill Matty Blue Eyes makes him stronger. Consider it a learning experience. :p
ReplyDeleteHahahaha good one. How dare they not watch Joss Whedon's work..those bastards. Lmao = P
ReplyDeleteYou mean numerous near death experiences!! With some actually death experiences mixed in there. Ha! Yeah check.
ReplyDeleteDamon didn't STOLE Elena from Stefan.. she is not an object .. it was her own choice.
ReplyDeleteBoth, Stefan and Damon, are no angels...
ReplyDeleteBTW how exactly was Damon's year tough?
