  1. It was okay. I might watch if it gets picked up to series, but this didn't impress me. And I really missed Sam and Dean. I knew it'd be light on them, but still.

  2. Better than expected. It has potential

    ReplyDelete
  3. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. And I liked Violet/David's angsty romance. I thought they had chemistry. Totally shipping the OT3 of Violet/David/Ennis. It might be something I'd check out if it gets picked up.

  4. Riddick with Freddy Claws, and as Dean said The Godfather with Michael Corleone shifter. Hmm, unusual indeed.

Actually I forgot this episode was a cross between the new spinoff of Supernatural and the original. I thought CW was running late on the show, lol.

  5. It was good, not as good as 'The Originals' but fairly solid.

    positive
    - I liked how the villain was kept stylisitcally creepy
    - enjoying Nates performance
    - whoever plays Margo is fantastic
    - Sean Faris did a solid job

    negative:
    - Ennis is kind of unlikable as of now
    - the show being shot mostly by day isn't doing it any favours and makes it feel less mystical
    - Sam and Dean felt tacked on, duh but they felt off.
    - the power play between the families was kind of cliché, expected a different (more twisted) take on it

IF it's picked up I'll certainly give it a fair shot.
They still need to lose the 'Supernatural' from the title

    ReplyDelete
  6. Will watch it again tomorrow, but I did not like the hunter AT ALL. If it gets picked up I will give it a couple of eps to see how it is without the Winchesters, but it will have to improve a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  7. i enjoyed it

    ReplyDelete
  8. he felt pretty unrelatable and stereotypical ('the angry lead that just lost someone close to him now on a mission to make others pay').

    ReplyDelete
  9. I didn't think he was stereotypical, but I felt like he was somewhat cookie cutter.

    ReplyDelete
  10. For a pilot it wasn't that bad, a bit weak on character and quite a few of the actors fell flat. However as a Supernatural spin-off it didn't work for me, I spent the majority of the episode annoyed at all the continuity changes.

I love Supernatural and want to see it have success but I'm not sure this spin-off is good enough to become a hit/successor.

    ReplyDelete
  11. It was OK.

I liked the villain (he reminded me of Alastair somewhat) and the location work. The actors have some potential.

Don't really have a reaction at all. It wasn't awful and I don't think it "tainted" the show, as some would say, but it wasn't one you really needed to pay attention to.

I hope they might have one or two of these characters come back so we can see more of them within the SPN universe.

    ReplyDelete
  12. They wasted an episode on that?

It was like a rip-off of the original SPN premise and The Originals:
    1.Guy's girlfriend/fiance is killed.
    2. Guy's mysterious father calls warning of danger
    3. Monster families vying for control of a city.

Frankly, this offers nothing that can't be found on the Originals, where it is done better (or I assume it still is as I haven't watched in a while).

    ReplyDelete
  13. I wasn't expecting good things but i honestly thought it would be better. I didn't like it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. That dark haired werewolf dude looked like a young Tom Cruise, especially when he makes that sinister smile. I know he's a werewolf, but those fangs, when he bared them I had flashes of Interview With a Vampire.

The show was okay, I'll give it a chance, but with not very high expectations. The shapeshifter seems like the Dean of Bloodlines with his wit, I like that, that humor adds alot. Hopefully it doesn't get too carried away with the soapy romance

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ehhh . . . I actually had no reaction to it at all. Of course, there wasn't enough Sam and Dean. They totally rocked when they were on.
I'm having trouble with the whole premise of a major city being controlled by 5 monster families to begin with. The fact that two of them want to go to all out war for any imagined slight is too predictable as well as the doomed Romeo and Juliet scenario which is beyond boring to me at this point. It's been done and over done. Ennis seemed like too dramatic for me and the abrupt killing at the end didn't seem right. That last phone call to him seemed way too contrived and, again, predictable.
I don't know. I'll try a couple more but this ep didn't hit any cords with me, intellectually or emotionally.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Just what i was saying the whole episode. They divided Sam story in 2, add The Originals and here it is Supernatural: Bloodlines. Please, someone take Supernatural out of this name.

    ReplyDelete
  17. "Please, someone take Supernatural out of this name."
    Seconded!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. I was easily distracted and no character really drew me in. Then again, I may not have watched it in the way it needed to be watched. I don't know that I watched this as a tryout pilot with a bonus dose of the Winchesters - I watched it as an episode of the Supernatural I know and love. And because of that, I was bored. Maybe I'll give it a chance down the road, but for now it's a pass.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't get why they gave an entire episode to a bunch of characters we never even met before, in preparation of a spin-off. Introducing characters for the express purpose of spinning them off into their own show is stupid.

Spin-offs should be earned by frequent guest/recurring characters.

Bobby, Castiel, Jodi, and even Garth have earned a shot at a spin-off because we already consider them part of the Supernatural family and also would be less forgiving of them having an entire episode to themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I really enjoyed Blood Lines..... :) https://d12edgf4lwbh8j.cloudfront.net/photo/image/Track_10_2.gif

    ReplyDelete
  21. I thought it was great. Its not goona have that aeesome spark SPN did but I think it would be cool to see this throught the monsters POV and it has a lot of potential

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well now they're saying if they get a series for this then those characters will appear. I guess we'll see. I'll be kind of surprised if this is picked up.

I agree with you about spinoffs. Sadly that's not how most TV seems to do it now.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I thought this episode was funny. What i found even funnier is they got 3 actors from TVD to appear in it. Haha. And Nathaniel's "American" accent was a little sexy. But i didn't care too much for the backdoor pilot as a whole. But it kept my attention. Probably only for Nathaniel.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Terrible. On the Gossip Girl runaways as monsters: laughable and wooden acting. Please recast if this is ordered to a series.
There is only one Dean Winchester, no carbon copy named "David" needed.

On second thought just spend the Bloodlines budget to get Supernatural it's signature rock music back. That's Warner's money well spent.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I didn't think I'd like this episode, but I did. Okay, I just liked Nathaniel. He was one hot shapeshifter. I don't know why they even bothered having Sam and Dean in the episode at all.
I hope there are only 22 episodes of Supernatural next season because I do not want another Bitten or another Bloodlines. I want Supernatural to be about the characters I've been watching for years and not another show starring Sam and Dean Winchester. The only difference between Bloodlines and Bitten is that Bloodlines was better written and it was entertaining. I turned Bitten off after a couple of minutes and I've never watched it.
If Bloodlines gets picked up, then I really hope they drop Supernatural from the title. It does not need it. The show could easily stand on it's own and it did not need Sam and Dean in it at all.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Its kinda hard to watch 9 season seeing all monsters as mostly bad, to all of a sudden they have skipped a town, and this town has monsters some semi good, and to just let them roam.
with this episode I remember that mother monster Dean killed and makes me wonder hmm...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well if they get a pickup they said Supernatural characters would appear (Garth or Cas or Jody, etc.). We'll see if that happens...

    ReplyDelete
  28. SPN has been doing semi-good monsters since season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dabb's interviews mentioned the 5th group was all female Sirens.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I loved it. Huge fan of Nathaniel's character David, and not just because Nate plays him. I also quite liked Ennis which I wasn't expecting. One of my favorite parts was the tension between Margo and David, so interested to see more of their brother/sister dynamic.

As an overall I can see huge potential in the show, fingers crossed for a pick up!

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's too much like the premise of The Originals. They should have just moved Nathaniel over to that show in the first place. I'm not really planning on watching this if it does get picked up though because the rest of the cast was just not compelling enough.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It was alright. I don't think I'd watch. A.) Nothing really feels Supernatural B.) The Originals is kind of similar (waring supernatural creatures over a city and I care more for the characters on TO.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah, I couldn't really get into the show. No character in particular drew me in. Overall: meh.

    ReplyDelete
  34. meh... as far as a backdoor pilot, it was just ok for me... the character set up was a bit on the weak side and I felt that some of the acting left a bit to be desired, mainly of the Ennis character. Perhaps it was just the way he was written. The David/Violet as monster Romeo/Juliet could be interesting as long as they don't go "CW" and make a triangle (not including her fiancee). There could be something here, but for me the writing and acting would have to improve dramatically....

    ReplyDelete
  35. The mother monster was killing people.... there's been a long history of some monsters not killing people and getting a pass from both brothers. In this case there's no evidence of them killing people - just each other.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I guess that's one of the benefits of an ensemble cast. They could bring Barry Allen in for a few episodes and then put him into a spinoff (although from what I've read it sounds like they did a poor job writing the end of his relationship with Felicity).

SPN never allows for recurring characters aside from villains and one or two friends who pop up every once in a while (if they don't die), so that wasn't feasible.

If I didn't know better I'd think the whole spinoff pilot was foisted on them, based on tonight's episode, but I guess they really did want to try it. For their sake I hope it works out.

I do think that it's fair to point out that they had no real choice in which characters to spin off - Mark Pedowitz said in an interview last January that he didn't see any SPN characters as feasible for a spinoff. But I wish they'd done a better job bringing these characters in. Maybe have Ennis in a few more episodes before this. Or the shifter guy, David.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have to say it was a lot better than I expected. I liked most of the characters and the story is interesting. I would probably tune in if it was a series.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Am I really the only person out there that really enjoyed Bitten? Haha

    ReplyDelete
  39. The only real positive thing I can say is that David seems rather likeable. Other than that, I laughed whenever it was supposed to be serious. That scene when Ennis was getting out the gun to that song, I laughed. The whole meet me at the train thing made me laugh as well and it reminded me of Sam and his chick last season. Why does it have to be so dramatic? Can't you just have a conversation about it? It feels like they're trying really hard to push that whole "He's my little brother and it's my job to protect him" thing because it worked with Sam and Dean. I didn't connect with Ennis at all because I don't really care about his dead girlfriend. Can we go back to the days when werewolves turned at nights with a full moon? Overall I didn't think it was all that horrible because I went in with VERY low expectations, so I voted poor. I don't think I would watch this at all. Put the one kid in the Originals somehow. People seem to like him. Otherwise IDGAF about this show.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It was ok I just hope they stay true to the supernatural universe

    ReplyDelete
  41. The main character failed to impress me. I didn't like the whole monster mafia theme either. It sounds like it will be a rather dreary show if it gets picked up to series.

    ReplyDelete
  42. too "the originals". the cast is good though. it's a shame, because I cannnot watch another supernatural tv show:(

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, they could have introduced one of the characters earlier. Like you said, Ennis or David.

Introducing a bunch of new characters at once is overwhelming a bit and it didn't allow for any attachments.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Having a romance in this episode also confused me. I mean, I didn't hate the stuff with Violet and David, but I'm not exactly making fanvids either. That should have waited.

    ReplyDelete
  45. It was popular on tumblr.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I haven't had the urge to watch this yet, the promo yesterday was so off-putting! I think I need another cup of coffee first, but I've been reading the comments and I see that other posters caught the similarity to Man's Best Friend With Benefits which I have always thought this was a revised script of:-

"The narrative did have its similarities to one Supernatural episode, but unfortunately, it’s Man’s Best Friends With Benefits, with its snazzy witch nightclub. Just no."

    ReplyDelete
  47. I intended to watch it through the end and I tried truly, but I couldn't. It was another dedicated ep like last week and I think I could find 5 minutes of Winchesters in it to watch.

It's supposed to be another show, and it's fair for it to be kinds different, but not this much. I can just say I'd never watch such shows, which are swarming out there, it's not what I signed for when I got into SPN.
(These complains are all w/o considering canon violations like Shifters changing face w/o shading skin!)

    ReplyDelete
  48. The episode was average at best but gave seeds of potential depending on how they focused a whole season of this. What would each episode focus on? I wasn't completely sold but I would consider watching more should it get picked up for a series.

Still wish they did a Men of Letters spinoff instead but I suppose that's to good of an idea for the CW...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Also did anyone else notice how much cringe worthy acting/dialogue there was and how off-beat Sam and Dean acted this episode? The conversation from Sam/Dean with the other characters felt really off to me.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The Young and the Restless, now with monsters

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think he's rather easily forgotten too. I remember when I watched my first episode of SPN, I couldn't get my mind off the characters for days. I simply had no other choice than to watch the next episode.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I didn't care for Ennis at all either. He just wasn't believable as a hunter. He seems way too young. I think the show has some potential, but could use some work. If they are going to keep Ennis I think they should do a recast of someone a little more mature and relatable. I thought some of the dialogue was cringe worthy and the acting was a little over the top. The one character I did like was David. I thought the "love story" would be the thing I hated the most, but it turned out to be the thing I actually liked best. He and Violet have chemistry and she was also likeable as well. I didn't mind the cop either, but the rest of them I didn't care for. If it does get picked up, it needs a major overhaul.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well, it wasn't SPN, but I suppose it could be an ok show. I'm still not sure if I'll continue to watch it, but I'll most definitely watch the first episode of the series. The only two characters that I didn't like were Julian (the Tom Cruise copy), and Violet. Like I've said before, I like strong female characters, and she's a bit too much of a princess, if you know what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Mark is crazy, Sheriff Mills, Benny, Castiel, Alpha Vamp, some of the Reapers, Trickster, there are lots of characters still alive from SPN that would have been better than what they have in Bloodlines. The only characters names I remember are David and Violet. Several dead characters I would have even liked better, Jo, Ellen, Sara, Alastair(Christopher Heyerdahl), Rufus, several of the original Angels.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I agree with all you said until the end, I don't think this show can stand on its own, but in any case the name Supernatural needs to be dropped.
I did watch Bitten all the awful way through and will never watch it again. I don't like the Ghostfacers but they are even better than Bitten. lol

    ReplyDelete
  56. Well it is set in Chicago, Murder Capital of America, so filled with a lot of monsters already. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Even now I feel that way sometimes (that was how I felt about Alex last week), but I wish it happened more often now. I haven't really felt it much since about season 4.

I mostly wish they hadn't killed his girlfriend. I just think saddling another show with THAT again was a bad idea.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well, some fans thought that Sam and Dean were getting along in the episode. You may like that. You wouldn't miss a lot if you skip the scenes that don't have them.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think one of the problems was that Sam and Dean weren't really the POV characters. Moments like Ennis eavesdropping on Sam and Dean having their Impala chat were disorienting, because that's not supposed to happen. It sort of violates some unwritten rule.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ha, breaking rules and canon is what Carver does best. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I went into the show, telling myself that I probably wouldn't like it or watch the show if it was picked up. I watched it and I have to say, I like it a lot more than I thought I was going to. It's odd how much I really did enjoy the show.

I may not have liked a few things or not a huge fan of the main character, Ennis. But having Nathaniel on the show kinda helps to. I'll definitely be watching the show if it's picked up.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Good point that scene felt off even though we've seen the boys have that chat a hundred times.

    ReplyDelete
  63. It was bad in every way possible except nathaniel buzolic's performance.Lucin laviscount was horrible and he's the lead.Sorry,i'm out.I'll take sam and dean any day over these dumb teenagers who have no idea what they are doing!! Now i understand why deadline was reporting that bloodlines is the weakest pilot of CW this season!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Well, nothing against teenage shows but it's not for me.
I don't care about love story between monster otherwise I would watch Vampire diaries.
I don't like the new monsters of spn.
Shapeshifter used to loose their skin, it was awesome. (good old days were "skin" and "nightshifter")
Werewolf used to loose control, not know what they were doing when they changed, their face was different, what about full moon?
    Djinn were blue.
Come on TPTB, if he you want to do a new show about monsters, rewatch the 5 first seasons to remember what make monster great.

Besides SPN without Sam and Dean, thanks but no thanks. I don't care. As I said, not for me.

Julie Plec hates Kol and that's she killed him off so he couldn't be in TO. It sucks because Nate has a lot of fans in TVD fandom and it would have helped TO a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  66. True. They never should've killed off kol.BTW,the way he died, was idiotic. Then again, what else to expect from julie,She even managed to run TTP to the brink of certain cancellation!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Michele Klinger30 April 2014 at 14:24

It was interesting. I'll definitely tune in if it gets picked up. And I'm sure if it gets picked up, they'll do what they did with The Originals and reshoot the pilot so it fits more with its own show and not attached to the original. It seems like an interesting concept and I really wanna know whats gonna happen

Oh...and how random was Sean Faris popping up? I totally adored him growing up so it was a nice suprise

    ReplyDelete
  68. Am I the only one, who liked it? BTW i'm sure everyone voting awful didn't even watch the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I watched it and rated awful becoz it was awful IMO.Looks like majority agree!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Sean faris's character julian is a series-regular,so it wasn't random.

    ReplyDelete
  71. no chemistry between the cast. the concept is too cliche'd.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Good ep. I will def watch the next one if they pick it up. I am now interested in the mystery of Ennis' dad! Is he alive?! Nathaniel B. was good; he has a somewhat good American accent. I am intrigued by the idea of seeing a hunter start from the beg, learning the trade & whatnot. I def do not like David's b of a sister, but the actress they got to play her I think is a very good fit. I would watch the Bloodlines only b/c of the mystery of the dad & Nate B. The monster war storyline has obviously been done (or already being done).

    ReplyDelete
  73. I liked it too.

    ReplyDelete
  74. It was OK. I admit I had very low expectations for it, so was surprised that I actually enjoyed it. It was full of cliches and some dubious dialogue and ridiculous scenarios, but it was a fun episode to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  75. That sounds like more monsters than we're getting on Supernatural at the moment!

    ReplyDelete
  76. The thing is I don't like Supernatural for the monsters, I like it for the characters and to me this was like Supernatural but without the best things about it. And Ennis doesn't seem to be interesting or good enough to carry Supernatural: Bloodlines.
The only thing I like was David, I liked his character and even the back story, but I don't see any chemistry whatsoever between him and Violet, also Violet irritates me. And the rest of the characters are pretty lame as well.
The biggest problem with this spin-off is that there's no good reason why the Whinchesters would let monsters run a city. Yeah, maybe now they have bigger fish to fry, but as soon as they have enough time to work on a weakly case they should be going to Chicago, it really makes no sense.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I had to rate it as Poor. There is some potential there, and I know it's hard for actors to jump right in and seem the part when it's a storyline that's not based on reality, but the only actor I thought was truly invested in the role was the woman who played Margo. She seemed to have it. The others just lacked that 'it' factor for me and most of them were just flat out boring. I hope good things for the actual series, and I'll most likely tune in to see if they've fine tuned it some, but I wasn't convinced by these actors.

Looking back on the pilot for SPN, I was convinced that those 2 guys at the time were perfect for the roles they were cast in. They had committed to it. They had quickly and easily become Sam and Dean Winchester. It had the magic. Bloodlines, other than Margo, was missing all of that.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I watch SPN for the Sam & Dean story and the family business, hunting things. Bloodlines "may" end up a series, but it is NOTHING like SPN, actually more like The Originals with vampires, werewolves & witches fighting over a city. Just not near as good as TO.

    ReplyDelete
  79. When I watched the pilot of SPN, I felt as if these 2 guys had been doing this role for years. They had chemistry and I was hooked wanting to know more about their lives. And I still do.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yeah I know I ponted that out, what I meant by that line is that the Winchesters are the best thing about Supernatural and without them I probably wouldn't watch it, so Bloodlines being all about the monsters and without the brothers doesn't really interest me

    ReplyDelete
  81. I rated it OK. On tv.com, i gave it a 7, meaning watchable with some positives. A 6, meaning watchable with serious issues, plus 1 for it being a pilot. A pilots job is to introduce, most of the main characters, and layout the world and some major plot points. I thought the backdoor pilot did this adequately. I like the David and Margo characters. And i liked the Ennis character until the ending.

I would understand if Ennis, killed the hunter purely for revenge. But he told the hunter, that he was the only real monster there. Meaning that the monsters, were more human than he was. The death of Ennis's girlfriend was an accident. She was not the target. I get he could not forgive that, but then at the end, he seemed to take up the hunter's mission. Not starting a war, but going after the monsters. It's inconsistent, and sloppy writing. Also Dean and Sam just standing there, and letting someone kill a hunter to save a couple of monsters, seemed inconsistent as well.

My other issue of concern, comes from an old series called Kindred The Embraced. It had a similar premise, a cop finding out that monsters exist, due to the death of his girlfriend. Said cop starting to hunt the monsters, being helped at times by a monster. That series started with a lot of promise. With vampire factions competing against one another, for control of the city. But the show quickly turned into "Melrose Place with fangs", and was promptly cancelled. If it lasts until a season 2 and has good reviews, without the usual CW teen soapiness, i may pick it up. As of now however i'll pass.

    ReplyDelete
  82. This was fine episode, but I don't know this all concept about five family of monsters is not new, actually is to similar the concept of The Originals, of course without a powerful family like the Mikaelsons and with young hunter.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Guess I did not word my comment correctly, but I was agreeing with you..it IS the family part of the show that hooked me. Jared and Jensen can take a weak story and make it good because they know their characters..I think they were born for these parts. lol

BTW my life size Dean cardboard cutout agrees with me. ;) I do love having him in my house watching over me.

I love SPN but this epi is HORRIBLE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Just watched it and cant believe how awesome it was better than supernatural

    ReplyDelete
  86. agree better than supernatural

    ReplyDelete
  87. the girl was pretty hot in the beginning of the episode

    ReplyDelete
  88. agree only was the first three seasons

    ReplyDelete
  89. hope the put another back door pilot without the supernatural cast

    ReplyDelete
  90. Worst episode since Bitten. Just terrible all around. At least I know of one fall show I won't be watching.

    ReplyDelete
  91. This is something I can't understand. Didn't she create that character? Why should she hate him? Or is because she isn't enamoured with the actor as she with Joseph whatshisname?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Finally finished it. That was painfull to get through. I knew the story might be a rip off of the episode but I wish someone would have warned me how painfully bad the dialogue was going to be.

    ReplyDelete
  93. To be honest his character was one of the few I enjoyed. Mainly for the Taylor Swift heart eating line.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Don't ever say that. ever

    ReplyDelete
  95. LOVE IT !!!
    want NEED more

    ReplyDelete
  96. You're kidding, right? Anyway if you aren't then you would like The Originals, Bloodlines is just a lame version of that show.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Absolutely hated it. It didn't feel at all like Supernatural. The acting was wooden and the dialogue was cringe-worthy; felt more like a soap opera. Nothing in the story-line felt original. I certainly won't be watching this spin-off if it does get picked up.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I will not be watching the new show. None the of characters were interesting and this show feels like the metropolis version of The Originals.

    ReplyDelete
  99. hated it dont we have enough shows about monsters? vampire diaries originals teen wolf ...? supernatural is about monster hunters and i cant stand any thing that shadow sam and dean

    ReplyDelete
  100. I loved it. I'm also sure half the people voting and commenting didn't watch it either.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Not true. It's just unfortunate that complainers have to make themselves heard.

  103. I have to admit I wasn't a fan of this episode. At. All. It was soapy and the male lead was lacking in skill as an actor. I didn't buy what he was selling for a single moment. Color me disappointed as I love Supernatural and really hoped for more in this pilot.

I'm also confused as to why they changed up the shifter mythology. Can someone please explain why, after all these years, shifters can now change shape instantly and without goo? Is it the fact that they are pure blooded or was this just an oversight? Regardless, I will watch (at least the first couple of episodes) if it gets picked up. That being said, I very seriously doubt it will since the pilot was craptastic.

  104. So NOT better than SPN. This is so bad that it cannot even be compared to Supernatural !

I am not sure I'm gonna watch Bloodlines. The episode sure as heck needed more Sam and Dean. It was not gripping enough. Too many shows out there that similar. Except for five monster families. Look at all the gangster shows out there and why should monsters make it different?

I'm pleased with the pilot and look forward to seeing more.I really like the idea and the potential.

  108. Well for one I didn't like it because of no Sam or Dean!! What!... Typical girlfriend dies, boyfriend becomes hunter in less than 60 mins. AND Shifters shed their skin! Remember the man droids with the laser eyes?

I just got finished watching this episode. It started off mildly contrived but still possibly likable...but it just became more and more cliche'd and cheesy as it went on. Completely unoriginal... and fairly boring... The actors that play Ennis and David have the "look" that CW likes but clearly they lack the ability that Jensen and Jared have (even if by now SPN and the Winchesters are as repetitive as they are terribly written) I was almost cringing at the inner-monologue with the terrible camera work in that last scene. Totally made this mediocre season drop into flat out soap opera-land.

I don't even want to think about the fact that we've had whole apocalypse, season-ending plots take place in Chicago, only for it to be brought back into this mess. I believe I will watch 1 episode of the spin-off just because of my (overdrawn) loyalty to what SPN was, but I really really hope they get that crap together.

  110. Anytime someone posts something negative, it's because they didn't watch it.

  111. The reason Amy was killing people is the only thing that mitigates the murdering. I'm not saying it was right, but she was a mother desperate to save her sick and dying child. I get why she did it.

  112. Don't they usually reserve backdoor pilots for shows they're not sure will be able to stand on their own? I'm sure a lot of series have been intro'd via BDPs, but in recent memory, most haven't lasted 13 eps or even a season before cancellation.

  113. That were my thoughts too, "Bloodlines" is a total rip-off form "Kindred The Embraced" and hey warning CW people, it was produced by Aaron Spelling and only lasted 8 Episodes.

Melrose Place with Fangs totally tanked, so what chance "Bloodlines" might have.
Okay, a deal with Crowley might help.
And better actors, so total recast ASAP.
And new writers doing a better job borrowing ideas from other people.

Warner should pay Spelling Productions some money for "borrowing" the idea Spelling had to pay White Wolf Publishing to use the vampires form "Vampire - The Masquerade" for "Kindred".

  114. I Totally Agree With You On That.

  115. No, I completely understand that a lot of fans didn't enjoy it which is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

What doesn't come across as fine to me, is the fact that the complainers are more than likely going to cost the rest of us a chance to see the series. If you didn't like it, no worries - don't watch it if it goes to series. But why should those of us who enjoyed it miss out because apparently the fandom wants Supernatural starring Dean and Sam, as well as a backdoor pilot starring Dean and Sam.

  116. Well I think if everyone that did not like the ep is kept quiet, then TPTB would not know the pilot was not that great. The rating was only because it was a SPN ep and a pilot, people would watch to see what it was like. Way more people did not like it that did and they need to know that.

I would have loved a spin off IF they were using characters we already had seen and liked, instead they do a rip off of The Originals, using BTW more actors from TVD than from SPN. What is up with that. They could have used the actors that played Benny, Jo, Ellen, Bobby, Sara, some of the Angels, etc.
