Whoa! They weren't kidding about the shit that went down this episode.
Figured that Harrison was going to die after all of Columbus Short's recent drama - good decision.
And ew at Liv telling Fitz the truth about Mellie - it wasn't her right to do so. That should have been left up to Mellie.
Oh my God. I didn't think they'd kill Jerry. That was just rude! And I can't believe he actually was Fitz's kid.
And the comparison from Papa Pope? Makes absolutely no sense. Your child is still alive and you can see her any time you want. Calm down with the sociopathy.
Ew at Huck and Quinn but LOL at them getting walked in on.
And yay for Olivia and Jake running away together! Sad it's not going to last long.
Let's see here. Super surprised that they would kill Jerry, but glad it was a character we didn't so much care about, even tho murdering a child is horrible (but it's just fiction!).
I knew Liv's dad and her mom would work as an enemy in the finale and i knew she wasn't dead. So now we know that shes only after the money, not power unlike papa pope. Im assuming next season will be based on more of her backstory. We really don't know what her background is or her true motives for being a terrorist or who she works for or supports.
Glad David will once again get his truth. Liv will join forces with him and her team once again and they will bring them down.
So I am not so sure if Harrison is really dead? It looked that way, but he will be a spy too. Otherwise, I think Jake will be joining her team next season since hes out of a job.
I really thought the death of Jerry would bring Mellie and Fitz back together. Guess not! He still loves Liv and would do anything for her unlike what he Papa Pope thinks.
As for Quinn, this is tricky, Im assuming she will go back to being a spy again, her and Huck are no more, forcning her back into Charlie? It will be interesting to see if Huck reunites with his wife and kid.
Harrison's death or being MIA will be enough to bring Olivia back. Dead or alive i want more of his backstory of what he did b4.
**Side note, really was hoping we would see Abby's dirt bag ex husband this season, so sad hopefully we will get to see him next season. I wanna see more back story, such as where she came from, how she met her ex husband etc.
Her father is a big bad, he's the one that ordered the murder on Jerry Jr, NOT Maya. She blew up that church, attempting to kill the president for money. She's working for someone and we don't fully know her back story. Now Papa Pope, he works for no one, he's on a power trip. He wants Liv and her team gone plus Jake gone so he can continue his B613 stuff. He loves Maya that's why he didn't kill her, he's prob lock her back up like he did when we meet her character. He would have killed her years ago, if he didn't still love her.
Nope, because they filmed the finale only a few weeks ago and the issues with Columbus actually started a few months ago but didn't get to the level it is now until last week.
Sad that they had to kill off Jerry. Dylan Minnette was really good in this role. I'll miss him.
Woah at Harrison possibly getting killed? I heard a gunshot but I'm not positive they actually killed him until I see a body.
Okay, seriously what the hell Olivia? You should not have told Fitz that Big Jerry raped Mellie. Mellie should have been the one to say it on her own. Ugh.
And he's back on as Command folks. Welcome back, Papa Pope. And LOL at Maya being thrown in the B613 hole. That'll keep her from escaping.
I was shocked to see Huck actually confront his wife after all these years. Let's hope they reconcile and the writers obliterate the idea of Huckleberry Quinn.
I'm glad Olivia decided to run away from all the craziness for a while. She desperately needed it.
True, it is not going to last long. Jake is such a doormat. Olivia will be back with Fitz in season 4. I think Mellie and Andrew will continue their affair now since Fitz will want her to be happy. We are not shown Harrison being shot so he can still be alive. The finale was a bit of a letdown.
Mid-way through the finale I was thinking "this isn't all it was hyped up to be", but it was the last 15 minutes that blew that thought away and made the episode the best that the series has ever delivered.
The ascension to power by Rowan was masterful. It really was. And of course Maya wouldn't be dead. I expected her to be down that hole the moment he told the President she was dead. It was a beautiful, full circle moment.
I loved Huck's attempt to reunite with his family. It will be fascinating to see what happens in the fall with this storyline.
Harrison's fate is also unclear. I'm betting that he dies. He knows too much, and his death would be the perfect avenue to bring Olivia and Jake back through. The series has been on air or 3 seasons, so it's right around the time when a main character usually departs.
I'm thrilled that Fitz now knows Mellie's secret. That is a bigger deal than I think a lot of people realize. I really wanted them to make out and have sex on the floor of the Oval, but instead Fitz asked for Olivia, which I think was a dumb bit of writing, and the only downside of the finale.
And finally, excellent idea by Jake to send Rosen his B613 files. That will open up a huge new story arc for him in season 4.
Overall, an excellent episode to end what has been a truly epic season. The shortened season length strangely worked for me, as did the halfway split season. I hope ABC replicate this in the fall.
I hope he doesn't come back. And it would be really dumb to not kill him. Like, what possible explanation could there be for that guy not firing the gun?
It was good but was expecting more I guess because the second half of this season has been jaw-dropping and while the last 10 or so minutes were a shocker, overall the episode was lacking. Don't kill me!
Overall, it really was just ok. The only major surprise was little jerry's death and truthfully it was quickly pretty obvious that Daddy Pope was behind it. If anything the episode had more of a series finale feel to it rather than season finale. The major loose ends get tied up and the power behind the throne reasserts itself.
Final points: While Cyrus may have made a late run for most dangerous man on Scandal, Rowan clearly stays ahead. This is not a man you want to be within a mile of.
- My, my. I wanted Olivia and Jake to run away together the first he asked her to and I knew the chances of that happening are slim and zero and now is actually happened. Too bad it won't stick. We all know Olivia will be back by the time the third episode of Season 4 airs or maybe even earlier. - I knew there was something wrong when Tom touched Jerry's shoulder when the Fitz was called. Shame Dylan Minnette is off the show, at least there's still the possibility of him appearing on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. . - It's kind of ironic that the Gladiator we've seen least of this entire season is the one most dedicated to OPA, Harrison is at gunpoint again, Huck tries to reunites with his family and Quinn is nowhere to be found. Where is she anyways? For a second, I thought she was down in one of those nasty holes. I really Season 4 shifts the focus back to OPA.
I think the difference between Cyrus and Rowan is that the latter isn't desperately trying to cling on his soul. The scene with Cyrus and Olivia reflecting about themselves in the hospital hall made me hopeful is might not be too late for him yet.
I almost wondering if Cyrus being under the delusional that he still has a soul almost makes him more despicable. Rowan is a true pragmatist, even with all of his dark dealings he ultimately believes he's doing will benefit the masses. Sure he also gets what he wants including revenge along the way but he doesn't stray from his philosophy.
AWESOMENESS!! I didn't really care about Jerry but seeing Fitz and Mellie's face when he fell on the ground, heartbreaking. Knowing that Fitz and Mellie didn't really have moments with him and that Mellie rejected him his whole life because she thought he wasn't Fitz's. At the very end, I really thought the plane was going to explode and that would've been the cliffhanger of the season finale. 7 months to wait.... Thursdays are now officially boring.
I'm glad Olivia told Fitz about what happened to Mellie. He needed to know. It's one of the things I like about Olivia. Most of the unpopular choices she makes are almost never self-serving.. I'm also almost 100% certain that Mellie wanted Olivia to tell Fitz. about the rape. Mellie knew that if she told Fitz, he would never believe her and he would hate her for telling him this...but she knew that Olivia telling him would have a different effect. As Olivia said before, Mellie is no fool!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I think they were finish filming before the thing with Columbus started though
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain me the scene in the final montage were Liv's father has her mom locked up? Who's actually the big bad?

ReplyDeletePretty sure they did. They left it all open IMO, when we get spoilers for next season we will see if he's back on the cast list or not.
ReplyDeleteNope, because they filmed the finale only a few weeks ago and the issues with Columbus actually started a few months ago but didn't get to the level it is now until last week.
ReplyDeleteAwesome finale.

Shonda set up season 4 nicely. Can't wait for it!

ReplyDeleteNow I remember I was thinking what were they going to do. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI hope he doesn't come back. And it would be really dumb to not kill him. Like, what possible explanation could there be for that guy not firing the gun?
ReplyDeleteI think Huck's family will die, and he'll just get more cucu.
ReplyDeleteI kinda liked the kid. I hope his sister doesn't appear though, cause she is annoying af.
