Holy wow, that final scene with Francis locking up Mary so she wouldn't be put in danger was absolutely gut wrenching. He's only hurting her because he loves her. Fantastic acting by Adelaide and Toby. My poor Frary heart, though :(
I'm sad that Olivia went to the new land without Nostradamus. I'll miss their relationship.
Awww at Bash getting Kenna a ring. I'm glad they're going to try to be husband and wife.
Yay at Catherine and Kenna banishing Penelope to work in the kitchen again! Hopefully she doesn't come back.
And Henry is starting to hallucinate. He just keeps on getting worse and worse.
I can't believe Francis did that! Thou I'm glad they're touching on those political matters a letting a little bit of the triangle go. Bash and Kenna are being so sweet! I'm happy they're trying and I hope they do well, I'm starting to think I like the ships only when Bash's part of them. I also love that they're adressing Mary's growth as a ruler, can't wait to see more of that.
Love it love Bash and Kenna sad about Nostradamus and Olivia wow! the final scene with Francis locking Mary up to protect her was gut wrenching can't wait for next week episode
Awesome episode! Kenna and Bash, Francis and Mary angst, Lola and Julien troubles. Just everything was great, although I was underwhelmed with Nostradamus and Olivia
Boring at first but it lead to so much more interesting stuff by the end it was a great episode about how you rule or think you can rule and you have to put your feelings aside to accomplished another things,
Brilliant episode, Mary standing up for her country is amazing, her acting is great. The scenery is especially stunning in this episode, like the boat dock where Nostradamus and Olivia were was so cool, that goodbye was sad :( also Kenna is so beautiful as always but that King needs to stay away from her, seriously, someone's been touched by the devil, crazy!!!
Yes! I'm just getting around to watching the episode now and I nearly fell out of my chair when I heard it.
Dare I say, I prefer hearing the modern day songs like that? Most of the time they feel like they don't suit the show but when they adapt them more-so for the time...I like it.
I think this is one of my favorite episode. I love this story line about Francis and Mary trying to put there country frist. I could see Francis was locking Mary up to protect her but it was still mean.
Personally,I don't appreciate the fact that they mix modern songs with the scenes. If Reign is a historical drama, then It must be in all its aspetcs including the musics. I believe that Celtic or Medieval musics fit more to the contest. They could make the show more believable, you know...
Loved it! I understand why Francis locked up Mary but still that was mean and childish, she's the queen of Scotland for God's sake, he got to let her make her own choices! I absolutly loved Kenna and Bash (I used to be a Mash shipper but now...), I would totally had put it to good use too Kenna ahaha.
Do we know who is the guy with the kind of racket that the king see in his delusions or not yet?
I'm positive that the guy Henry is seeing is his older brother Francis, he died in suspicious circumstances aged about 18, generally thought to have been poisoned, one possible poisoner is thought to have been Catherine. So I think the show is going to go with this real life theory, with either Henry as compliant so he can get the throne, or finding out afterwards and keeping quiet for this long.
Another solid episode, really enjoyed this one too. I'm starting to worry for Kenna though as she's being pulled into Catherine's web of lies and scheming without thinking of the consequences, I think wearing Catherine's ring and taking the land/estate is going to come back and bite her at some point. Henry, in his madness, is bound to take her betrayal badly, he already thinks that Bash is after Francis' throne, let's hope he doesn't think that Kenna isn't now mixed up in the plot too!
Not sure I really understand the whole locking Mary having to go to Scotland plot, it seems very contrived and put into the story just so Francis has an excuse to lock her up, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Moray was a loathsome person, god knows why Mary ever trusted him in real life, I guess the whole thing is to show us that he exerts such an influence over her that she'll follow him blindly. But they'll have to be clever now and have her believe that she was still right once this is sorted out, or why would she continue to be so close to him right up until the murder of her second husband.
Ooooh yes that would make sense! I didn't know that so thank you! Yeah Catherine probably poisoned him to access to the throne as Queen. That's definitly insteresting!
Yeah, I didn't realize that it was and instrumental version of "Royals" until my sister (who was in the next room) ran in and pointed it out. I thought it was a little, "Is that really necessary?" I don't like it when they mix modern songs with the 1500s time period.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Another great episode!

ReplyDeleteDid anybody realize Reign was playing Lorde's "Royals" song, but in jazz version, in the background when everybody was dancing?
