Excellent episode as always, but my one criticism was that the episode as a whole was too humorous! Considering the sheer magnitude of what the last few moments brought to the table, a darker episode would have suited the ending better.
I'm not saying that I don't like the humor, because no show does hilarious sarcasm and banter better than POI, but Northern Lights being suspended is definitely no laughing matter.
loved it! very interesting fallout from Northern Lights being deactivated and Root being "retasked" by the machine... loved Fusco and Finch teamed up and Fusco taking full advantage of first class accomodations... got a big kick out of Shaw and Reese's "unpacking of their luggage...lol
People! Stay Calm! Richard... I mean Matthew is not the enemy! He has the best interests of the island in mind! Wait.. what? Oh.... nevermind. Carry on.
Loved the reunion setting! It was like Grosse Pointe Blank with a twist! XD - Old buddies wanting to get high. - Classmates turned security guard with a gun, "Wanna see it?" - A Hitman who looks nothing like the classmates on the list.. Maybe it was more like GPB than I thought at first! XD
- Having every woman walk up to "Frank" and slapping him was funny! - Shaw was so much fun in this episode! - Shaw finding Matthew hot because he schemed to torture and kill Doug was great! Killing is bad. Um'kay? - Harold heard the explosions and thought he had time to to look at the the papers in the safe? Bad Harold! XD - I'm glad to be seeing more of Fusco being considered a real part of the team and helpful.
This episode was yet another reason to dislike Root. Lemme just risk the people who I supposedly want to protect by using them as bait so I can gather a little intel... Ugh.
This was a really fun episode that was the next big step towards the endgame for the season.
Arguably one of the darkest episodes of the season, yet also one of the most humorous. Simply outstanding, and Root's part at the end was icing on the proverbial cake. Too bad we'll have to wait until April 15 for the next one, but it'll be worth it.
I always respect your opinions, but I think the episode necessitated a more lighthearted feel to prepare the audience for that ending. It's now reached the point where no one is safe; not Reese and Shaw on their regular missions, not Finch despite his knowledge and technological brilliance, and even Root will have too many obligations to handle for her to assist the others. The crescendo is nearly among us.
They could've called this episode "Shit Hits The Fan". I never saw it coming how this would be the big game changer (after Carter's death and Samaritan being revealed). I LOVED how the press conference was like 99% reality when PRISM was discovered. It was also scary.. kind of. It's great how our show reflects on that critically. Like Finch, I sympathize with Vigilance but their methods are so wrong that I consider them enemies. :/
The number case was good, we had some awesome lines (loved the awkwardness Reese and Shaw experienced :D) and a nice temporary split-up between Root/Finch/Fusco (they make a nice team, too) and Shaw/Reese. This was a perfect episode and one hell of a finale-setup!!
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this one that much when I first read the press release, but I absolutely LOVED it! Such a funny episode!!!
So it was like POI meets Lost, Bates Motel, with a dash of Super 8 and Batman! -The character Toke was like a cross between Donnie (Super 8 - druggy, the hairstyle), Daniel Faraday ("It's like we went back in a time a machine"), Hugo ("dude" + asking questions). There's a the Claire on drugs juxtapostion. -The whole who done it murder + hotel room scenes + highschool situations + Nestor Carbonell = Bates Motel (which Monday's episode was great because of NC's scenes with VF's) -Obviously NC is also a LOST and Batman trilogy alumni, but it was too bad he didn't share a scene with Michael Emerson.
Other things: Collier uttering Finch's opening monologue was fun too! The machine about to be determinate was another shocking twist Loved Shaw with both Reese and Reed (intentional surname name play?) Loved having some Finch and Fusco time.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Awesomeeeeeeeee. This episode was the perfect mix and balance of humor, action and twist.
ReplyDeleteThat ending wow, now Northern Lights don't exist anymore and Root now take care the relevant side, I no see that ending coming, well played writers.
I didn't see it coming either, but it makes perfect sense.

Guess that leaves one.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see that much of the episode but I saw the end and I really hope this is not the real end of northern lights not just like that at least

ReplyDeleteRight? It's just a clever move by the writers and without the government, I think will more easy for Greer and Decima bring Samaritan to life.
ReplyDeleteShaw was great being the love interest of the Attorney.
ReplyDeleteDark twist. The crazy thing is now Decima is an even bigger threat to Vigilance. Hell, Decima pretty much now has free reign.

The episode just had really great lines!
wondering if the 4 pp's that voted aweful really watched the show
ReplyDeleteAs usual i agree with everything you say... apart from Root. I think she's one of the best additions to the show.
ReplyDeleteThat's a truly scary thought....
ReplyDeleteShaw's hot as hell, but Root's too cute not to be in love with her. Also, LOL at Lionel in a robe.
ReplyDeleteLoved it Loved it Loved it
