And I called something else! I really didn't want a time jump at all, so ugh. But Ben and Leslie's kids were cute And the rest of the episode was amazing!
I loved it. Looking forward to seeing what next season is like.
What a perfect episode and a great happy ending! All the cameos and random people who showed up in that episode was amazing.
I almost wish it was the series finale because it was just so perfect in every way. If it ends next year, I really can't see them topping this episode.
Agreed, I really enjoyed the episode as a whole and all the plots but wasn't totally nuts about the 3 year time jump. I know it was probably done to avoid the whole triplet pregnancy and 3 young babies on tv show issues but at the same time I felt like we missed so much happening in that 3 year time jump.
wow what a great double feature that had the set up and feel for a series finale, but I'm glad that it isn't! Sooo much great stuff in both sections to mention from the awesome Unity concert (and Ben's incredulous look at the mystique of Little Sebastian), to Leslie meeting the First Lady, Ben (the architect) thwarting the dotcom CEO in a match of his Cones game - to the reunion of MouseRat and the public reveal of Duke Silver... the cool cameos from Ginuwine, Letters to Cleo, to the neat 3 yr time jump and Leslie firing Jon Hamm's character... lol great stuff all around! Next season cannot come quickly enough
What the hell?!?! Of all the shows to do a timejump I wasn't expecting Parks and Rec! Maybe in the series finale or something but woah we still have a season to go (assuming S7 is the last which it probably is)
Pros of this timejump: No pregnancy storyline or Leslie dealing with babies which is 90% of the time boring in TV shows. We also get to see Leslie be a success with the new National Parks division rather than a season of things going wrong at the beginning of its creation. Lots of exciting changes can happen with the rest of the characters.
Cons of the timejump: It's kind of scary when a show does these kind of things and Parks has always been in the present with present-day pop culture references so its weird it will now be in 2017-2018.
That was a great finale in so many ways. As some of you mentioned before, it might have been an even greater series finale. So many people showing up, a fantastic Unity Concert and I even liked the time jump. Really looking forward to next season. Sidenote: Poor Terry :)
Wow! That was literally one of THE BEST episodes of Parks & Rec ever, and one of the best comedy finales in like ever! Perfect, just perfect. It gave all the needed answers & character developments to whet our appetites while still leaving enough to question to keep needing more answers when Parks returns for Season 7. For 2013-14 until last week, Community & Brooklyn Nine-Nine were the joint-best comedies of the season. Now I’m proud to say that Parks & Rec has surpassed them all. Perfect. Just Perfect!
– Is the Unity Concert one of the best concerts, real or fictional, of recent times? That ending with Land Ho, Mouse Trap, Letter’s to Cleo, & all the other singers performing ’1000 candles’ in memory to Lil’ Sebastien was just heart-warming & awesome at the same time. – Leslie finds the perfect solution to keep both her family in Pawnee & get the new job…though it can be quite stressful at times. But as long as a useless Don Draper is around to make work interesting (nooo…don’t fire Jon Hamm!). Was Jon Hamm the best ‘guest star to impress in the shortest time’ after Joe Biden? Surely yes! – Seriously...did that pest of a Councilman Jamm resign? – What happened in ‘Tammy 2 vs Ron “DAD-dy” Swanson’? Eager to find out next season.
Well that was worth the wait, and it was as earth-shattering as the cast & writers promised.
I loved the whole episode, even the time jump (to see how awesome Leslie will be in 3 years!), but I hope next season, we get to see at least a little of how the three years went
That was LITERALLY a flawless finale. I laughed so much at Leslie's reaction to Michelle Obama and Ben's priceless reaction to the Lil Sebastian hologram and I teared up at Ginuwine coming on stage and the banners of Lil Sebastian come down, the public appearance of Duke Silver, and the reunion of Mouse Rat. It was beautiful.
I was not expecting that three year time jump but I absolutely love it. Hopefully they will fill us in on what happened in the previous years.
My favorite line: "It's truly an amazing town, I ordered a small cheeseburger and both the buns were pizzas".
Overall, I can't praise this finale enough. It truly was something special. See you next season, Parks and Rec!
Loved it! It was truly amazing! Everything fell into places and my God so much guest stars! I laugh so much to Leslie's reaction to Michelle Obama! Also loved the three years jump even if a little disappointed not to see Pregnant Leslie I'm sure she would have been hilarious. But for sure it would have been difficult to handle 3 babies on set so good call!
Do we know why Ben was all dressed up? Did he have a new job that I missed or forget about?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteAlso, could you bring back Power Rangers? You seem important enough to be able to get it done.
