I was so proud of Deacon for doing what needed to be done for Maddie but man oh man that last scene with him and Rayna tore my heart to shreds! The worst part, I'm not sure whose side I'm on, they are both right. He's angry because she didn't tell him about Maddie sooner when his sobriety was sticking and she's angry that he couldn't get sober in the first place and give her the dream they both wanted.
But Clara stole the whole show with her rendition of Black Roses! I wanted to hug Scarlett, child abuse is just so hard to overcome and she needs so much help! Poor girl.
As for Zoe moving to LA maybe...good, hope she stays there. She's a bore.
It was really surprising how overacted was Scarlet's character. I considered Clare Bowen a good actress but in this episode she was all over the place. I still felt sorry for her character though and I wish Juliette understood not everybody is as strong as she is. I do hope Scarlett recovers and gets to resolve some issues with her mother but mostly I think she needs to take command of her own life and grow some thicker skin.
Risking the wrath of the Javery shippers but I for one couldn't be happier that they brought Charlie Wentworth back. With all due respect, Avery is sweet and all but we all know that that relationship is going to fail. She needs someone like Charlie. And I need to see more Charlie Bewley. Seeing Scarlett was heartbreaking though. Poor girl.
I'm not a Javery shipper, but I still think that a guy like Charlie is everything Juliette doesn't need. She needs trust, understanding, and stability in her love life, specially considering every other aspect of her story is already so messed up.
Scarlet's situation is sad, no doubt. It just didn't resonate because her character has been such a wet blanket this entire season. I really hope there is some forward progress in her character either gaining strength or no longer being a stage performer.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Good and well written episode. OMG Scarlett!!!!!! Can't wait to see what happens with her storyline!
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, Scarlett's mom. Her and Deacon's dad must have been really screwed up to mess up the entire family like this. Damn.
ReplyDeleteAvery and Juliette are absolutely adorable and I love them so much. And aw at Avery being so worried about Scarlett.
Poor Scarlett. And I'm glad Deacon handled it the way he did. That conversation between he and Rayna hurt.
Great episode! Rude at having to wait three weeks for a new episode.
Oh wow.

It's not a new episode! It's a freaking concert!!!
ReplyDeleteThat makes it even worse! I want a new episode, not a concert! If I wanted to see the concert, I'd travel to another state to see it this summer!
ReplyDeleteYup, you'll have to wait at least a MONTH for a real episode!!! Stupid ABC!!!!
