Hannibal Rising: Tree similar to Cherry Blossom structure, Samurai in Hannibal's house (kills "fisherman's" and places head in front of Lady Murasaki ancestor shrine), tanks like one's a French University were Hannibal first starts medical training/executes revenge
Hannibal: Gideon eating himself = Agent Paul Krendler, "life could be solved with simple waltz" + reveal of M. Glass = Starling end of Hannibal novel!!
Oh, Alana, how you Bloom for flowery men! (This won't make Will any more angry or anything) Eddy Lizard's Chilton is the BEST. So much more compelling in this episode! I wonder if Fuller will end up following SOL film version with him? Hannibal again is at his best <3
Overall, a brilliant and beautifully executed episode.
My only complaint? The idiot NBC PR team that spoiled the return of Miriam Lass is THE FREAKING EPISODE DESCRIPTION! Ever since then I refuse to read the press releases.
I love that Jack is now starting to suspect Hannibal. Hopefully with Miriam Lass alive, he can start getting answers. Starting with Miriam telling him that Hannibal kidnapped her and cut off her arm to taunt him.
The crime scene with the man intertwined with that tree was absolutely mesmerizing and probably one of my favorites so far. Hannibal sure knows how to make art.
Gideon being forced to eat his own leg was hilarious and disgusting at the same time. His facial expression while attempting to eat was so amusing to watch.
Ohhh, Alana. Sleeping with enemy and still not have a single clue. This is just another part of Hannibal's twisted mind game with Will.
I'm so happy Chilton finally said "Hannibal the Cannibal" XD I have been waiting since the beginning of the series for someone to say that.
I think you mean "unfortunately" haha. And yeah, Hannibal locking her in that room probably caused some severe emotional and physical torture. I wouldn't be surprised if she forgot what even happened to her or she tells Jack a completely different story that Hannibal told her to say so that he can be covered.
"You intend me to be my own 'Last Supper'?" Where else could you hear that line, except Hannibal! It's no real surprise that Hannibal's ratings have gone up the last couple of weeks............the word is getting out, fellow viewers. This was a excellent episode, but then with Hannibal's writing, acting, visual direction..............are we really surprised anymore? With the way this episode fell into place it is certainly candidate for "Best" episode of the season, if not the series (see no spoilers). Can't wait until next Friday! 4 A COOK BOOK OF DR. LECTER'S FINEST RECIPES, I am still Nobody!!!
That's what confused me. Why would Hannibal lead Jack to Miriam when she can so easily identify him? Interesting to see what Hannibal has up his sleeve.
And I do wonder, if Miriam is alive, is Abigail alive too?
I def think so, but I also think Miriam represents something in particular. I don't know if you have ever read the books or seen any of the films, but Miriam has a distinct characteristic of someone Hannibal will eventually come to love, which the show has been giving winks both back to Hannibal Rising and Hannibal in almost every episode this season, which will also be furthered by the introduction of at least 3 characters from those source materials....
That's a good possibility, because Lass and Georgia M. (or really her death with the "comb") relates to another not yet met character (and probably won't be meet until like season 4 or 5) and so it would actually be brilliant to have Lass also be a character that doesn't quite remember...
I've believed Abigail Hobbs was alive since season 1 when she first "Disapp(ear)ed"! Will must suspect she is alive on some level, because he projected her in his hallucination a few episodes back. I also believe the look of shock on Beverly Katz's face was the sight of Abigail Hobbs alive and held captive in the doctor's basement, before Hannibal turned out the lights and killed her (Beverly Katz). 4 EVER, Nobody!!!
Or the real answer is Hannibal wants Jack to kill Miriam when she trys to kill him first lol...My money is on that..secondly we seen it alot in tv shows where someone is held captive for so many yrs they lose sight on what's true and what's a lie.
That was really weirdly put. Yes, it's great that story wise Hannibal is still free and able to manipulate, interact and affect other characters in such unknowing (to them) and major ways as it drives the entire story (even then how is it fortunate?), but to argue that if Hannibal framed Chilton (which he did not) to save Will is a good deed or makes what Hannibal did alright is morally nonsensical. Particularly since it ignores the reality of Dr. Lecter's actions in that he has committed dozen of murders, framed his friend for murders he committed, drove him over the edge out of sick morbid curiosity. Hell even if you ignored it, it's still wrong since if he had framed Chilton he would be sending an innocent (a term I use loosely here) man to jail for crimes he didn't do. So no despite your condemnation of Chilton as evil (I just think he's desperate for praise and recognition), I don't think it's fortunate and Hannibal should be punished for a multitude of reasons (i.e murder, cannibalism, breaking professional ethics). To simplify, yes you're right it's great strory and writing wise that Hannibal is free, but that doesn't justify the character's actions. Mads Mikkelson said it best, "HE is the Devil."
The answer is............yes! In "Hannibal's Game" he makes no move that is by chance or mistake, now as to why Hannibal did this..................? The clues with the "Fishing Lines" will get Will off as the "Ripper", but why Hannibal didn't kill Miriam (who last season was on to him) let alone would hand her back to Jack Crawford is the real question. 4 EVER, Nobody!!!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Well, there is only one thing to say about this episode: "MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF" LOL
ReplyDeleteSo fu**ing awesome! Best episode ever! I bet Dr. Chilton will become a resident of his own prison in the next episode.
There are some meats you can't replicate from human flesh. Too bad Jack lucked out, but manage to receive a golden fleece.
ReplyDeleteAs for Bloom and Hannibal, well, I thought it was not really in the promos, but apparently it was.
I loved this episode it was awesome!! This show get's better every single week I can't wait until the next episode.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteTons of back shadowing and foreshadowing again!

Amazing episode.

Fortunately Miriam will tell Jack that Chilton kidnapped her and cut off her arm. This is Hannibal's masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteI think you mean "unfortunately" haha. And yeah, Hannibal locking her in that room probably caused some severe emotional and physical torture. I wouldn't be surprised if she forgot what even happened to her or she tells Jack a completely different story that Hannibal told her to say so that he can be covered.
ReplyDeleteNo, Eddie IZZARD plays Dr. Gideon. Raul Esparza plays Dr. Chilton

I'm sure Hannibal teached Miriam to identify Chilton.
ReplyDeleteSorry! Too excited for my own good! Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI knew what Jack would find because I'm stupid and read the press release, but it was still an amazing, amazing, AMAZING episode of an AMAZING series.

ReplyDeleteYeah I love Hannibal Lecter as a villain and character, and agree that this is a masterpiece (in a really messed up, morbid way) but fortunate really?
ReplyDeleteWhy should Hannibal be punished for gifting Will freedom?

ReplyDeleteBrilliant. I believe Dr. Chilton just pulled an Anderson on me (that's a herlock ref btw).

ReplyDeleteCan someone explain to me something? Did Hannibal intended on Jack to find Miriam ?
