  1. I did like the episode, but the were many points where it felt very disjointed. Still a good episode though!

  2. It was awesome! Hannibal&Will BFF.

  3. oh come ooon!!! what happened to chillton?? by the way i think that will was definitely trying to make hannibal reveal himself and he achieved it to a degree

  4. Chillton is dead and gone

  5. No. He's in a coma.

  6. Chilton is in coma or something. But who cares for now. He doesn't have to be back as long as Hannibal does not go to jail for a limited time. For now it's BFF time for the true selves of Hannibal and Will.

  7. i was hoping we would get a glimpse of mason! mason the pimp :P

  8. Very smart to go with dark straight-ish hair on Margot. She looks like an evolution of Abigail and by having the vergers brother and sister dynamic introduced we can nicely juxtaposed the brother sister relationship that Hannibal didn't get to have...

Nice rebirth themes. Jeremy Davies was great too (noticed "white rabbit" in cage and a little funny casting knowing his Lost character's mother is a reference to Stepehen Hawking--Hannibal's a fan and Will's ability plays to Hawkings now debunked "time in reverse" theory)

Very nice black bird "Starling" reference (Hannibal also was petting a little lamb!). Need to see have Sarah Crambler name is actually spelled...could be a near anagram for Clarice in there!

Really intense there at the end. Still hoping the Ice fishing scene means that Jack is helping Will play a game...

But considering I have to go out and feed my own horses right now, kind of admit I'm a little disturbed...

  9. i believe will is trying to make hannibal believe they. This scenario gives the opening dialogue a more symbolic meaning.

  10. Well, I look already forward to Will's dogs getting very much of Mason's face. *lol*

  11. He can't make Hannibal believe that he visits dark places. Will is going to really visit dark places. He's going to have a inner conflict and even if he decides finally against Will, Hannibal will still stay a part of Will.

At the end of the episode Will recognized that Hannibal really cares about Will. That's the difference to that guy in the horse and the guy who put him into it.

  12. Let me get this straight. There was a bird inside a woman inside a horse. And both the bird and the horse were alive. How on earth are we not talking about this yet?

  13. That sex scene looked more like an acid trip.

  14. Love the direction this is taking.
I'm glad about the way Will is taking on this new scenario, how he wants to have everything out in the open and not fake it, it's very interesting.
I'm also thrilled about the way their relationship is evolving, now that Will truly sees him and finds him interesting for the first time.
Can't wait to get more of this exiting ride.

  15. Why would you spoil that?

    ReplyDelete
  16. The horse was dead. Only the bird was alive. Though if it was sown into the woman right before she was sown into the horse, that would mean the bird could have been trapped in the woman's body for as little as 12 hours or so. It wouldn't go hungry. Not sure how well starlings are able to efficiently use the oxygen available to them.

  17. I cracked up when I saw Hannibal patting the sheep.

  18. "Is your social worker in that horse?"

    ReplyDelete
  19. That's not a Spoiler. But we know how Mason looks in the Hannibal-novel and that Will has a lot of dogs. Soit's a very likely theory.

  20. Today and yesterday I did a marathon blitz through the second season to catch up, and wow, what an amazing season it's been so far! It's really gone to a new level from season 2, and I love how much darker, twisted and clever it all is. One of the best TV seasons (so far) I've seen :)

  21. It is a spoiler (likely theory) for fans that have never seen the films or read the novels (and there's more of those than one would think.)

When the Vergers were first announced to appear my comment was: Bark! Bark! Onk! Onk! and no one seemed to get it :D

  22. As it should! There is a brief flashback of "someone" with Mason Verger in the film version of Hannibal and It is done like a drug-induced acid trip, especially because well, it plays to Hannibal's fun with drugs....Not saying that Alana is necessarily being drugged, but the style I think is meant to invoke that as a tribute.

Just the hand wearing a ring with the Verger crest this week.

Maybe, maybe not. Hannibal could just as easily have stopped Will from shooting Ingram because he doesn't want his buddy/plaything to go right back to prison.

I agree with you that Will really is visiting dark places and isn't lying when he says he's realized some very uncomfortable things about himself.

But I think you can make the argument that Hannibal preventing Will from shooting Ingram was more selfish than protective of Will. Now that Will is finally becoming the what Hannibal wanted him to be, he wants to see what will happen.

  26. The scene where that guy was coming out of the horse was really disturbing and I think the only scene on this show that made me look away.

  27. I think we will see a Chilton 2.0 much like Gideon and Miriam had "second lives" both due to the fact that he really should still be alive via source material and because screen caps/rewatching the scene a few times reveal he was shot through a cheek and out the lower part of the back of his head, and because it would be a nice parallel to those two other characters first mentioned...but I don't think we'll see him before next season. So I think DebsterForever is right in that he most likely will be in a comma, which may also come to parallel someone else...

  28. Got the "Hint Hint" fellow poster, but I post "No Spoilers"! Funny at the time though................if you got the reference. 4 EVER, Nobody!!!

  29. I disagree, because even not having Will go back to the asylum is protecting Will from going back there, despite that it also serves Hannibal's needs. It's hard to explain to TV fans that never read the novels, but Hannibal is really a twisted love story. His affection for Will [for a time] is IMO genuine, as he represents a stepping stone to whom will Hannibal's great love down line. Hannibal's doing these because he genuinely wants a friend and cares for Will, despite that Hannibal is trying to alter him to do it.

I think Hannibal's motivations come through pretty well. His wanting a friend can be genuine and selfish at the same time. As Bedelia explained to Hannibal in S1, he can't act as an agent of friendship as someone who doesn't understand the concept. What she said to Will in S2 was similar-that Hannibal genuinely thought he was helping Will, though it led to ruin.

  31. Outstanding follow - up to the last episode! This series is "Insanely Good" and it's great to see the ratings rise again (2.93 million). The references in this episode.........the "Starling" and Hannibal petting the "Lamb" was just priceless (No Spoilers)! And now for the Vergers......................Katherine Isabelle looked stunning............even with a broken arm. The "Androgynous Coutureau" wardrobe chose for "Margot Verger" was definitely the way to go. Now we need two things going forward 1) 3.5 million more viewers need to watch this series............go head and get your "Fantasy/Romance Fix", then get some "Darkness/Madness"
in your TV lives with "Hannibal"! Don't be scared...............your not alone. 2) I don't know about the rest of you, but 10 to 12 episodes a season is not going to cut it for me..............we need 18 episodes IMO. Can't wait until next Friday...................looks like a "Beast" of a episode (lol)! 4 THE SECRET RECIPES OF DR. LECTER, I am still Nobody!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well it's more like that Hannibal's definition is twisted compared to modern cultural standards, but it's still genuine and true, which one can argue all friendship is selfish, because simply people usually don't want to be alone...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Their relationship is beginning to remind me of "Sith Lords" (Master/Apprentice). Hannibal is corrupting Will to make himself (Hannibal) the ideal friend (Will). Hannibal's want for a friend in Will is sincere, but is twisted by his insanity and Will's "Empathy Disorder/Condition" regarding "Maniacs and Sociopaths"................if that makes any sense. Sorry about the "Lucas/Disney" reference (lol)! 4 EVER, Nobody!!!

  34. I'm talking about Margo and Will's love scenes. I have no other refferent of the Hannibal story and I'd like to keep it that way because this show is amazing and it manages to surprise me every time, I'd like to keep it like that.
