This was an outstanding episode. The case was really good, but it was outshone by the really moving interactions between Sherlock and Alistair's spirit. I didn't think Elementary would ever break into things like hallucinations or spirits but the way it was executed in this episode made me glad to be proven wrong.
Fantastic ep. Sherlock mourning his old friend & Joan being there to help (when he allowed it). The case was interesting (I was so scared when Sherlock was covered in that powder!) I loved seeing Garrret Dillahunt in the ep! Overall, a really good emotional ep.
Great episode! It's too bad they killed Alistair. I really liked him. However, it did give us the opportunity to see a lot of character development for Sherlock. I'm not a big fan of the whole hallucination/spirit thing in procedurals. This was used well, though. I just hope it doesn't mean Sherlock has a tumor like Bones and Grey's Anatomy.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI loved when Watson smashed the plate on the floor. "See, I didn't solve anything!"
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that Roger Rees probably won't be coming back, but it really was a great dash of cold water for Sherlock.
