I actually like last years finale better. It had more heart, less character derailment, and didn't waste another episode to set it up. And the plots actually led somewhere, rather than a literal deus ex machina to save the school and a Jeff/Britta wedding plot that was out of place, went nowhere, and only served to hurt Annie and make Jeff act like a jerk.
Great episode. Maybe cause I wasn't a huge fan of the first part, but I enjoyed this one much more. Some great one liners throughout, and most importantly, the Save Greendale Committee saved Greendale!
I loved the bit at the end with Abed. The only way they wouldn't be back is because an asteroid destroyed everything... and that's canon. I hope this isn't the end of these loveable misfits, and I do hope they can work it out to get Jonathan Banks and John Oliver to come back, at least for a few guest spots.
It accomplished what it needed to, so with that I'm glad that it got that. At any rate, it definitely deserves to come back next year. So now the horrendous wait to see if it'll return begins.
Lots of great moments, as they soared to new heights of "meta!" Abed's monologue explaining why, precisely, Jeff and Britta had suddenly decided to get married, had me almost falling off my chair laughing. Really enjoyed this, all through, but I'm desperately hoping it wasn't the last! No asteroids, please, NBC!
Annie was basically speaking for the Jeff/Annie shippers the entire episode. And I loved her line after seeing Jeff/Britta doing something "couple-y". "Actually someone else can have my food and water."
I'm pretty sure it will, Sony, NBC, and everyone involved in Community have stated that it is likely to come back. It also helps that Growing Up Fisher is doing worse and worse every week. I'm like 85% sure the show will be back
As someone who has been watching Community for a long time and supporting it in every way possible I'd be perfectly fine with this being the last episode.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteIt hurt Annie, but that was necessary to show the audience just how deeply she cared for Jeff. It seemed like a lot more than a crush.

I can't say I much enjoyed it. I thought this and the last episode were a bit ridiculous, and not in the good Community way.
ReplyDeleteAbed has really changed, and I now find him completely unlikeable.
I still hope it will return, but only because there should be six seasons and a movie.
Dear lord, that was awful. Just...what?

When will we know? This month?
ReplyDeleteMay 12th would be the absolute latest date we would find out by.
ReplyDelete"Annie was basically speaking for the Jeff/Annie shippers the entire episode"
ReplyDeleteAnd so was Raquel... :D
Strange finale. Laughed a lot in the first half, but the second half was just weird.
ReplyDeleteBest scenes: everything meta, the Dean swallowing the mini rocket
