Wonderland fans, your wish is close to coming true: The Knave of Hearts is headed to Storybrooke. Actor Michael Socha is expected to join Once Upon a Time as a series regular next season.
agreed. and this is spreading around the internet. I've seen it now on The Hollywood Reporter and E! in addition to Entertainment Weekly. Either they all planned the joke or it's true.
I seriously don't know if this is fake or not. Multiple sites are reporting this, not just EW. What if they're ALL messing with us?!?! Ugh, I seriously hate this day so much.
Yeah, but I know couple of years ago HBO did all this advertisement telling everyone that Game of Thrones had season premier on april 1st and at the end it was a joke... I don't trust ANYONE today
Doubt it's a April's fool they would make a bigger "fool" like Alice appearing. The Knave is the gennie now isn't he? I didn't watch the show since midseason. Could be part of introducing Jasemine and Aladin! Good knows where S4 will take us? J&A are one of the last "big" fairytale characters to appear, plus the Frog Prince and some others.
I personally think this is real, and not an April Fools Day joke. Like everyone has been saying, multiple sources have been saying the same thing. It would be awesome if the Knave could show up on OUAT full time! :D
I dunno, just seems odd to announce this before the finale of Wonderland, and on this day of all days. Why spoil that he lives for sure the day before the finale of the show?
I agree. A couple years ago the announcement for Baby Daddy was made on April fools, wish that one was a joke lol. But even without April fools that rumour about a Full House spin off made it to a bunch of sites all reporting it as fact.
Yeah, and OUaT in particular is all but guaranteed renewal, it's performing at above ABC's average and a fourth season will enable it to be sold to syndication. So it's no wonder they're already making plans for Season 4, IF this is true of course.
I haven't watched OUaTiW yet but I have to say, if it's true [shallowness] that ups the eye candy factor on OUaT, because this guy is REALLY cute. [/shallowness]
I hate this day with a passion! I really hope it's true. The Knave is by far the best thing about Wonderland.I'd love it if he stayed around and it would be really cool to see him to see him interact with the characters of Once. I'm still taking with a grain of salt though because it's too early. They haven't even announced season 4 though and even though we all know it's happening,it's weird to see announcements about the cast before the official renewal.Otherwise we'd have heard about Sean Maguire as well.
The only way I can see this working is if they get rid of Hook. Because what else would they do with him? He doesnt fit into the main 'gang' and they've already got a British guy who wears black leather and mostly snarks at people.
Disagree. Everything in Wonderland is a direct affront to OUAT, as the BIG reveal of Well of Wonders and magic water (ala LOST) in every land, along with symbolism the serpent representing Life cycles (reincarnation/transformation) and Anastasia name means "resurrection" points to characters like Cyrus, Lizard, and Ana being brough back to life..
3 major points of Wonderland being thematically different to OUAT:
1. Amara back to Well = Curse Undone 2. "Anything is Possible in Wonderlan" -constant log line 3. Magic Spell that breaks the laws of Magic
I doubt this is true….haven't watched OUAT In Wonderland but I heard that the show is set in a completely different time period than OUAT. It would be hard for them to connect the dots between the two, plus Michael isn't that cute so I can't see him with anyone
So far we see that characters are disappearing and turning flying monkeys and that could continue to happen...
So far Robin Hood has lost Little John and we don't really know if Mulan is there right now either considering Jamie Chung has been filming Believe.
I defiantly think OUATiW well end with Will and Anastasia leaving Wonderland together and potentially stealing something (like maybe Jafar now turned Genie and his lamp)
We have no idea how far the Oz story is going, -if it will bleed into the beginning of season 4 or if we will get into something else (which probably will happen by next midseason anyways) So we could easily get into Agrabah/Aladdin Story or something...
In Robin Hood stories Will Scarlet is somewhat fundamental to Robin Hood, as he is a kind of little brother. There really aren't a lot of OUAT characters left to flesh Robin Hood and his past out, -and assuming he and Regina are going to continue to develop a relationship, would mean that Robin Hood will become an important factor to her story.
It's extremely unlikely the Oz storyline will continue. But that's not what I mean, Robin hasn't been announced as a main character for S4 yet so it's pretty iffy to assume that would be a connection.
Also on a show like OUAT, if you're not directly related to the action ie Regina, Emma, Snow, Charming or Rumple, the characters are 'regulars' but are demoted down to recurring or written off a la August, Red, Archie and Neal.
They'd need to have a big story that has Will as the big hinge or else he'd be a hanger on to a main character's love interest.
It's current story takes place in parallel with the beginning of Once's current season two time period. The press release for next week has a casting for a character that may indicate that the show will jump into the future a bit and ultimately "catch up" to where Once currently is. (at any rate they could just do that anyways)
It's not a different time period per se because it opens with Will in Storybrooke but there is very little care given to the timelines so it might make Once's even messier, if that were possible.
I just don't see a recurring love interest's onetime associate for about a week coming into play as integral characters to each other. Maybe Robin vouches for him. But it wouldn't be the first time the show has made a major misstep in promoting characters, they've done it so many times it's practically a tradition now.
That would require him being 'closest'. And we know Will isn't. I'd also not be here for Regina being kidnapped, the last thing this show needs is more sexism.
Maybe not closest, but maybe still someone he needs. Will's story in particular is the one that is most incomplete IMO, so I would be grateful for another adventure with him. He's my favorite part of OUATiW.
Really? I think it's probably the one that's actually closest to complete and in a really good way so far on either show.
He's one of my favourite parts of OUATiW as well, which is why I'm hesitant about them bringing him over because of that popularity and then ruining him.
Why? The show already has a large cast, and it's really male heavy. So, what will they do with the Knave if added as a series regular? Unless OUAT is going to explore Wonderland next season, I really don't see a need for a character like his to be added as a series regular...maybe a guest or recurring.
DON'T PLAY WITH MY EMOTIONS OKAY???! my headcanon: Rumple tries to collect all 3 genies to change the law of magic and bring Neal back. *goes back to my corner*
I don't think she'll remain dead... I think Amara will give up her life to save Ana's, or that they'll take her to the Well of Wonders and the keeper will allow Ana to drink the water, thus saving her, just like it saved Amara...
I hope this is true. He is already more interesting than most of OUAT's main cast. (The Charming family is so bland and MM gets dumber every week). Bringing in the Knave would re-ignite a lot of my interest in the show.
We only saw him actually be the Knave (his GRAND title role) ONCE just as we hardly covered Ana's time in Wonderland and what happened to her husband and what Cora was more specifically getting at there. (there' tons of potential adventures and stories Cora could have through them, since she manipulated both of them) We never see when he meets Lizard and some of their adventures working as part of The Collectors. Additionally they made mention that he once had a sister (Penelope) and the story he tells Alice is an allusion to Peter Bishop and Fringe, which means it's possible Penelope isn't dead, but perhaps went to another universe and there could still be story there as well plus Penelope is also a LOST reference which places the Knave (for the second time since the pilot) in line with Desmond--winking also at "time/reality travel"...
It's possible that the Knave was with Robin Hood longer than what the episode made it out to be. There could have been an adventure squeezed in between that made Robin trust Will more than we think he did. If not there still is the potential that maybe Will will feel like he "owes" Robin something. So their story could be part of a Knave/Will Scarlet redemption arc.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It's April Fools Day, nice try.
ReplyDeleteIT IS NOT NICE TO PLAY WITH PEOPLE FEELINGS LIKE THIS!
ReplyDeleteI wish it wasn´t joke. I actually like Knave :)
ReplyDeletePlease, for the love of god, let this not be an April Fools joke. I will go ape shit.
ReplyDeleteagreed. and this is spreading around the internet. I've seen it now on The Hollywood Reporter and E! in addition to Entertainment Weekly. Either they all planned the joke or it's true.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure it's a joke, several sources reported that news.
ReplyDeleteI seriously don't know if this is fake or not. Multiple sites are reporting this, not just EW. What if they're ALL messing with us?!?! Ugh, I seriously hate this day so much.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think it's true... :(
ReplyDeleteI hate it too. They should wait with all the renewals and casting news etc bc nobody believes anything today :D
ReplyDeleteTHR is also reporting this.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but I know couple of years ago HBO did all this advertisement telling everyone that Game of Thrones had season premier on april 1st and at the end it was a joke...
ReplyDeleteI don't trust ANYONE today
This is a joke, Once Upon A Time should be renewed, but it is not renewed to talk about its next season casting!
ReplyDeleteNo. GoT already casted/promoted regulars for season 5.
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't tell if this is real or not. E!, EW and not THR all say it...
ReplyDeleteThat's not necessarily true. Revenge upped Karine Vanasse to series regular a few months ago and the show is not renewed for season 4.
ReplyDeleteI don't like things being announced on April 1st, can never know if it's real or not.
ReplyDeletei reached out to someone from the THR and she's acting like it's really true
ReplyDeleteDoubt it's a April's fool they would make a bigger "fool" like Alice appearing. The Knave is the gennie now isn't he? I didn't watch the show since midseason. Could be part of introducing Jasemine and Aladin! Good knows where S4 will take us? J&A are one of the last "big" fairytale characters to appear, plus the Frog Prince and some others.
ReplyDeleteMe neither 2 or 3 years ago TVfanatic played me with a Damon Alaric VD spin off. I completely forgot it was April 1st.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about if he was the genie, yes and no.
ReplyDeleteTVLine is reporting it now as well...I think it's real
ReplyDeleteOk, my bad. Thank you for the info, might be true then.. :D
ReplyDeleteI talked to someone from THR on twitter just now and she said it's NOT an April Fool's Day joke.
ReplyDeleteYou guys think everything is a joke on April Fools Day, lol.
ReplyDeleteI think this is real.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome :)
ReplyDeleteOkay I'm about 99% sure this is real. If it is, then this is the best news ever and I'm going to go catch up on OUATIW in time for the finale.
ReplyDeletePlease be real!
ReplyDeleteNothing from him on his twitter about this, which I'd expect if it's true :(
ReplyDeleteI personally think this is real, and not an April Fools Day joke. Like everyone has been saying, multiple sources have been saying the same thing. It would be awesome if the Knave could show up on OUAT full time! :D
ReplyDeleteI prefer Sophie Lowe but I'm glad he's coming back!
ReplyDeleteThat's because, like the article said, nothing is certain due to OUAT not being picked up for another season yet. :)
ReplyDeleteI dunno, just seems odd to announce this before the finale of Wonderland, and on this day of all days. Why spoil that he lives for sure the day before the finale of the show?
ReplyDeleteHaha!
ReplyDeleteI agree. A couple years ago the announcement for Baby Daddy was made on April fools, wish that one was a joke lol. But even without April fools that rumour about a Full House spin off made it to a bunch of sites all reporting it as fact.
ReplyDeleteHe's the best actor in OUATIW
ReplyDeleteCool. Now what about Robin Hood?
ReplyDeleteReally stupid day for making announcements :D
ReplyDeleteI hate it not to know if this is true or not. Damn April Fools Day.
ReplyDeleteThis is just mean, any news that are too good to be true are non believable
ReplyDeleteI hope it is true but being April Fools and the Knave being a fool makes one wonder.
ReplyDeleteBloody hell, me thinks it's funny ha!
ReplyDeleteAwesome news, now what about Alice???
ReplyDeleteWhats next? FRIENDS coming back with a secret reunion in May?
ReplyDeleteYeah, and OUaT in particular is all but guaranteed renewal, it's performing at above ABC's average and a fourth season will enable it to be sold to syndication. So it's no wonder they're already making plans for Season 4, IF this is true of course.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched OUaTiW yet but I have to say, if it's true [shallowness] that ups the eye candy factor on OUaT, because this guy is REALLY cute. [/shallowness]
ReplyDeleteI'm all for it as long as he doesn't become a love interest for Emma.
ReplyDeleteSomeone did a April Fool prank that Norman Reedus quit TWD after getting in a fight with the producers lol
ReplyDeleteThat´s actually good point :D
ReplyDeleteThis looks legit bc btvguide.com is also reporting it as well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the joke's on her too
ReplyDeleteHe already has his true love, he's one of the main characters in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland :)
ReplyDeleteI hate this day with a passion!
ReplyDeleteI really hope it's true. The Knave is by far the best thing about Wonderland.I'd love it if he stayed around and it would be really cool to see him to see him interact with the characters of Once.

It's a joke or not? Cause I like him and Anastasia
ReplyDeleteAna died last episode and while she was alive in promo, I don't think she'll be back for good.
ReplyDeleteThe only way I can see this working is if they get rid of Hook. Because what else would they do with him? He doesnt fit into the main 'gang' and they've already got a British guy who wears black leather and mostly snarks at people.
ReplyDeleteDisagree. 2. "Anything is Possible in Wonderlan" -constant log line
3. Magic Spell that breaks the laws of Magic
He can always go back to Robin Hood's Merry Men...
ReplyDeleteHave him hang out with Robin, Roland, and Regina.
ReplyDeleteAnd do what?
ReplyDeleteAnd stand in the background while the other characters do stuff and snark like Hook does?
ReplyDeleteI still think the HIMYM finale was a pre-April Fools Day, personnaly :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad this is happening, I hope to at least see the others show up too in some capacity.
ReplyDeleteI doubt this is true….haven't watched OUAT In Wonderland but I heard that the show is set in a completely different time period than OUAT. It would be hard for them to connect the dots between the two, plus Michael isn't that cute so I can't see him with anyone
ReplyDeleteinteresting, if true, solid actor, liked him a lot on Being Human.
ReplyDeletePossible Plots:
ReplyDeleteSo far we see that characters are disappearing and turning flying monkeys and that could continue to happen...

ReplyDeleteAnther plot could be that someone kidnaps Regina to another realm and Robin Hood sets out with a few of his closest to find her.
I just don't see a recurring love interest's onetime associate for about a week coming into play as integral characters to each other. Maybe Robin vouches for him. ReplyDeletemy headcanon: Rumple tries to collect all 3 genies to change the law of magic and bring Neal back. *goes back to my corner*
Does this mean his love interest will be next season's Big Bad? I haven't watched Wonderland, is she still evil?
ReplyDeleteI don't think she'll remain dead...
