If he does it, he's an idiot. If he kisses her, Zelena goes back in time and Emma and Henry were never born anyway. If he doesn't kiss her, Zelena possibly starts offing people. Either way, it's the same basic result. He should just sack up and tell everyone what's going on. They may be able to come up with a solution.
Well, they could've just had him tell Emma and advise her to pretend her magic's gone to fool Zelena, that would've been a refreshingly surprising twist. But noooo, we have to have 'brooding Hook' and his inner conflict, and unnecessary CS melodrama, leading up to the timeline-altering finale.
So Henry is the first target? Interesting all they have to do is keep him confined to the super protected apt. Problem solved. But will Hook cooperate?
I think his reluctance to say anything comes from the kiss itself. I mean, those two aren't even sure what they are to each other yet, but someone else is so sure of it that they cursed his lips? Something like that would actually confirm whether or not Emma has feelings for him, which he knows she's not ready for. I'm pretty sure he's worried about the rejection, because lets face it, Emma hasn't instilled much faith in him that she feels the same way.
As far as he's concerned, he's in a damned if you do damned if you don't situation and no matter what he chooses will end badly for both him and Emma. But he also knows that Zelena's plan hinges entirely on that kiss, so not telling them about it is his best shot of ruining her plans. It's weird how many people see his dilemma as such an easy thing. It's not. If Hook kisses Emma then everyone is screwed, if he doesn't kiss Emma then people start dying, if he tells everyone then they may not actually be able to fix it, and knowing Emma she'll jump on that sword to save the people she cares about even though she knows in the long run it's a bad idea.
Hook is essentially stopping her from having to make that decision by making it himself.

I'd like to think that's the case but I'm not inclined to give the OUAT writers that much credit. That kind of nuance isn't really this show's forte.
Good grief Hook haters are in tonight, truth is unless you've seen the episode you don't know what's going to happen so we should save the Hook bashing melodrama until the episodes over.
He really should just tell her. I'd be beyond livid if he force smacks his lips on her again without telling her and snakes her powers away. Emma would never forgive him, regardless of the reason. But if she knows before hand, at least losing her powers to possibly save her son would be her choice, which I have no doubt she'd do if it came to it.
Did they really have go with this curse lips drama. This is more contrived plot points to add Hook man pain and have an external obstacle for CS. Right now Emma hasn't shown that much interest in having a romantic/sexual relationship with Hook and it would make more scenes if they were actually in a relationship or if it was obvious for BOTH characters that this would turn romantic. And why would would Zelena put a curse on Hook's lips?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI'll get so mad if they take away Emma's powers now that she's starting to use them and accept them

ReplyDeleteI don't like Wimpy!Hook.
ReplyDeleteHook's bound and gagged in a trunk, the only way I like him.
ReplyDeleteSo Henry is the first target? Interesting all they have to do is keep him confined to the super protected apt. Problem solved. But will Hook cooperate?
ReplyDeleteTRUE LOVES KISS WILL BREAK ANY CURSE!!!! Why else would the writers have brought this twist into Emma & Hook's relationship??

ReplyDeleteDoes Zelena know that Henry is also Regina's son?? She doesn't know which mothers she's just messed with lmao. #TeamMoms
ReplyDelete"Next four episodes will bring all/most of the answers", so be patient.
ReplyDeleteHook is essentially stopping her from having to make that decision by making it himself.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely what's so disturbing about the whole scenario. It just shows how little he knows Emma.
*sighs*
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea, unless Zelena and/or Rumple would be able to sense that Emma's magic was still intact.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she does. She should be more worried. Overconfidence will probably be her downfall.

ReplyDeleteObviously, but it's Hook and OUAT, so he will clearly choose the not logic path.
ReplyDeleteI agree. In fact, I made that same basic point to you on Monday when I said:
ReplyDelete"In Storybrooke, if it's not convoluted it's not a viable solution."
Oh, yeah, I remember that. Deja vu in here, actually lol.
ReplyDeleteI hate that they're making Emma's magic dependent on what this lovesick creep does. I guess this is the writer's attempt to make him relevant. Sad.
