I really really want this to be amazing. Please don't ruin it. Don't kill my dreams!!!!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting choice of cast some of them i have never heard off. I wonder what Andy Serkis role is in the film will he be playing a human character as most films he is in he is playing some kind of creature.
ReplyDeleteI really want star wars to be amazing as its one of my all time favourite film franchises.
OMG the gang is back together! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteNow that George isn't running the show we might actually get a great movie out of this.
ReplyDeleteSad its so male dominated that's a shame but happy for Oscar Isaac and John Boyega (Who was amazing in Attack the Block)
ReplyDeleteGreat cast! I'm getting pretty pumped for this. I have faith in J.J.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I wonder if this mean they're going to resurrect a certain walking carpet that died in the expanded universe?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I was hoping that this cast would be more diverse.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost ridiculous how much I love SW. So excited for this.
ReplyDeleteAll the expanded universe stories so far are part of the "Legends" line. They will be kept in print with that banner on them. No longer canon. The Movies, The Clone Wars series, the upcoming Rebels series and future novels are all that is canon.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised all the original cast pretty much came back for this. I had low expectations but if they'll all going to be in the movie I'll probably have to see it because I love the OT so much.
ReplyDeleteYeah I was excited when Lupita Nyong'o was rumoured for a part now :(
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not complaining, but I thought they were waiting until May the fourth to announce this? Or are they announcing something bigger then?
ReplyDeleteFinally!!!!!! I don't know how I feel about Adam Driver, I strongly dislike his character on Girls, but the rest look like interesting additions, although I was hoping the rumor about Maisie Richardson were true...I would have liked more female's cast...
ReplyDeleteThe cast is very good, can't wait to see more details about the plot.
ReplyDeleteAs long as JJ Abrams stays the hell away from "Lens Flares", it will be fine.
ReplyDeleteI doubt this is the -full- cast. But i'd agree, it wouldn't kill them to include another woman or two.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but he is serving as major executive consultant, so his input still weighs something...
ReplyDeleteOnly remaining "original cast" I'd like to see added, is Billy Dee "Lando" Willaims :)
ReplyDeleteYes he's been confirmed to be in it.
ReplyDeleteYou know he won't stay away from them entirely. That's his trademark, but I hope he at least doesn't overdo them and only use them at appropriate times so they aren't very intrusive when watching the movie.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I'm sure there will be a loud of supporting characters so hopefully they will have some female characters in the mix
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! Hopefully its good.
ReplyDeleteOne question though: Why does the guy who plays Chewbacca have to be at a script read? haha
Wow, this is a really good point.
ReplyDeleteTitle for May 4th maybe?
ReplyDeleteMing the Merciless is now officially a Sith Lord.
ReplyDeleteHe's a big Wookie who abducts Leia
ReplyDeleteand character name/role would be nice too
ReplyDeleteAll of the above would be great but Abrams is pretty good at holding his cards close. So maybe just the title.
ReplyDeleteWow, I always hoped Harrison, Carrie, and Mark would be back! It will be interesting to see what parts the new cast members play. Finally--and I'm happy to see J.J. Abrams directing. He did a nice job with the Star Trek reboot, although the 2nd was not as good, so he has respect for his source materials!
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited to see the original cast back but....
ReplyDeletethere are fifteen people sitting around that table and only three are women and one of those didn't make the cast list. I had hoped that the idea that women aren't interested and don't belong in sci fi movies and shows had been behind in the dark ages.
Hallelujah! :D
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteIt's such an odd thing for J.J. Abrams too, who tends to have major female leads on his TV shows!
ReplyDeleteI have read reports that the original script was to feature the next gen, but it got thrown out (the other former Star Wars writer was fired) to make way for the story to focus on the original gang and have the rest be introductory...It could be why there isn't a lot of young cast (which again is odd, because original casting calls had a lot of 20-something cast), let alone a lot of female cast...(I'm pretty sure looking at Daisy Ridley's photos that she must Han's and Leia's daughter...)
But then recently Harrison Ford has made statements that suggest that his character might have a bigger role than C.F's and M.H's!
I'm hoping though that maybe they have kept some casting secrets. I was especially interested in either Maisie Richardson or Lupita Nyong'o to have been a Kenobi relative...or for one major Bad Robot Alumni to make a great cameo (John Noble, Dominic Monaghan, Jasika Nichole, Kevin Weissman, ect)
Yes to the originals returning!
ReplyDeleteI had the same idea, I'm truly hoping for some great cameo! John Noble would be a perfect choice!
ReplyDeleteI'm so hoping for this to be awesome! I'm so so excited to see the original cast together again! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm fearing the worst. JJ ruined Trek, even with Nimoy in it. And Indy Jones shows us how bad things can go if not done right.
ReplyDeleteHi Guys! Just wanted to let you know that there is more casting announcements on the way!!!

Oh I hope so! It did seem weird the lack of female roles.
ReplyDeleteYeah a lot of movies exposed this rule! Actually I'm torn between hope and fear but I'm choosing the right side of the Force for now! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks for sharing!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso the novels of the 6 movies plus Clone Wars (2008) animated movie is considered canon by the story group.
ReplyDeletei would actually love to see him play a wookie.
ReplyDeleteYes, I forgot about the movie but it's basically the pilot episode of the series. Nice to see a NJO fan on spoilertv.
