Paul Burrows, a very good friend of mine from back in the blog days of L O S T (we started Room 23) sat in on the showrunners panel and sais Farscape is getting a movie. Heard about the Justin Monjo script and that Brian Henson was signed on a month ago - but this is the 1st I heard from O'Bannon.
It's in very early script stages says Rockne.
"Yeah, yeah it’s the worst kept secret…We’re far from production, but yeah, the first step is Justin [Monjo] working on a script for us. We’ll keep our fingers crossed."

Look, I love Farscape. But what's the point in making a movie after The Peacekeeper Wars which concluded the story of the Farscape characters?
ReplyDeleteI've never watched Farscape. As a science fiction lover I've been told that borders on heresy. I'll get around to it.

ReplyDeleteI'm a science fiction lover and i loved Farscape. Was it a masterpiece? no,but it was a fun ride. Your already in the mindset that it sucks so i wouldn't bother....

I'm not sure the series needs another movie since I thought The PEacekeeper Wars concluded it all quite nicely, but....

That's exactly what he meant. Watching Farscape is SciFi 101. It's required work. I would add much like Deep Space Nine or Babylon 5.

I tipped this last night to SpoilerTV. I posted the link to the rumor below, which O'Bannon confirmed last night. A script has been written bu Justin Monjo and Brian Henson is involved (Jim Henson's Creature Shop).

ReplyDeleteAmen to that. I would love for SyFy to be destination TV for me again and not just a punchline. Don't get me wrong. There are still shows I watch on it, but nothing like a decade or so ago.

ReplyDelete"We're far from production" doesn't really confirm anything. There isn't even a script yet, which means this is only a possibility, not a definite thing that will happen. Boo.
ReplyDeleteWell Laura, if you remember... we never saw him (or Sikozu or Grunchlk) die. And we know Grunchlk liked to keep frozen "samples" for the Doc. It will have been 19 years - somehow I could see him him healed. It would be interesting if they did a Winter Soldier on him and made him a brainwashed villain.
