ReplyDeleteI am with you. You know I am not a B/R shipper but I feel so betrayed with the finale. 3 years of B/R will they/ won't they meant nothing? I mean I can't fully describe how I feel.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the Lost finale never watched that show. But I think the reason is because they spent the past couple months going on and on about how much the fans will be very happy with the ending and even when the rumor about the mother dieing came out, they said it wasn't true. Then to go back on everything was just a slap in the face.

ReplyDeleteThe 9th season DVD now should be only the final 2 episodes, and the flashfowards, and the episode of the Mother. NOBODY will watch a whole season of a weading that ends in the first 15 min of the finale.
ReplyDeleteI agree on the needing a revised version of the finale. I think it's the finale of the goat story, only because Ted said he didn't ever find out about the pineapple.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I will ever watch this again. Maybe if I convince myself that End of the Aisle was the actual final episode with Ted saying that then he met the Mother and they lived happily ever after, THE END.
I actually do think it was a really good ending... to the story they were telling in seasons 1 and 2. It was a bad ending to the story they were telling by season 8, and it was a TERRIBLE ending to the story they were telling in season 9.

ReplyDeleteThey said in an interview awhile back that they weren't going to discuss the series finale after it aired. Now we know why. I'm not sure if they meant not talking about it just for a few weeks after it aired or ever again.

ReplyDeleteI'm selling all of my HIMYM DVDs, I don't want them any more. I feel devastated right now. I wasted the last few years watching this show, thinking the final episode would satisfy all of us fans. Gee, I was wrong about that.
The worse series finale out of all my past favorite shows that I've ever watched.
I don't think it'd change anything... But I have to thank the creators, when some asks me why I read spoilers, I can now say- Did you see the HIMYM finale? Well, I started, couldn't believe what is happening and come hear... And I'm not watching the rest... Thank you, spoilers, you saved me at least some of the dissapointment

ReplyDeleteI would have loved the finale...if there was a third episode showing the years after the Mother died. They really needed Ted/Robin to reconnect again to make that particular ending work.
ReplyDeletegoat, pineapple, whatever. The whole last season was just a bad joke, and the finale is even worst. The show started so well, it was so loved, but they manages to ruin it at the end. Never will understand that.
ReplyDeleteWhy so serious? Is Tolstoy to fault for having Anna kill herself? Author is God, and his is the last word. In the narrative context, this makes all the sense. Plus, it was hinted at so many times (except for the Ted/Robin, that was pure awesomeness). And don't be sad about Barney. He got the girl of his life, as did Robin got the guy. I am only sad about Tracy.
ReplyDeleteI love Ted & Robin, I have been rooting for them since I can remember. I'm happy they even got together in the end..apparently. BUT, how they got there is the sad part. A whole season and a half build up to a wedding that got over within ten minutes? What was the point? So much could've gotten covered in this season if they hadn't focused on the wedding weekend. Plus, I loved The Mother, or Tracy now that we know! Killing her off was just..sad. Expected but sad.

I don't hate the finale by itself, but it makes the rest of season nine just bad and cruel filler for that ending.
