Hannibal - Episode 2.08 - Su-zakana - Episode Teasers

Here's a taste of what to expect from the next episode of Hannibal, airing April 18 at 10/9c.

Spring has always been a time of renewal and rebirth, a time for starting over. And this Friday, it would seem our old friends Will and Hannibal are ready to bury the hatchet, seeking a delicate rapprochement.

The title of this episode is "Su-Zakana" and it refers to a palate-cleansing dish, typically crispy vegetables dressed in vinegar. Bitter but determined, Will (Hugh Dancy) is more than ready to escape his prison/asylum/dungeon digs for a taste of his former life. But is resuming his profiler duties for the Behavioral Analysis Unit by peering inside dead animal carcasses for human bodies really the best way to make a clean start of it? One would suspect a session with a psychotherapist might be in order before taking the plunge back into the deadly work.

Enter Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen). The doctor has a few reasons of his own not to want Will back on the job - and probably even more reasons not to put Will back under his care. But Lecter is nothing if not daring. And if hope springs eternal, Hannibal almost certainly has more than one ulterior therapy planned for Will Graham. And besides, letting bygones be bygones is only civil: just because someone tried to kill you doesn't mean you can't work with them.

Let's not forget, love is in the air. Our dear Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas) seems to have fallen hook, line and sinker for our courtly killer. Cannibals need love too. And they need protection. If Will starts to get too chummy with Hannibal, look for Alana to get between them.

And this being Hannibal, of course we've got a macabre murder to contend with. All the better for Will, Hannibal and Jack (Laurence Fishburne) to team up on to solve. Without relaying too many details about the crime, let's just say that the killer's sense of spring being a season of rebirth is more than a little skewed.

This episode may cleanse your palate, but don’t be surprised if it leaves a rather uncomfortable aftertaste.

  2. Will is playing Hannibal. Of course he knows hes the ripper and he is not seriously mentally seeking therapy. He is keeping his friends closer BUT HIS ENEMIES CLOSER. He is befriending Hannibal so that he can find his weekness.
