And now Nick will look like a douche for wearing sunglasses at day....at a wedding....as the best man ;) Unless they give some kind of excuse like ''My best man is so great he came despite an eye irritation'' or whatever
But he always answers honestly when Nick has questions. And I didn't accuse Monroe for anything. I just wonder why Nick never asked him how Wesen recognize him as a Grimm. It could give him an advantage to know that.
He sometimes avoids a clear answer (for example when it comes to what kind of child a Blutbad and a Fuchsbau produce), though, and Nick is too polite to pry.
I'm glad Nick addressed the issue with Monroe and Rosalee so soon. This looks like a great scene, and so necessary to wesen lore too! Maybe Nick can use the sunglasses technique while interviewing people as a cop, so he doesn't reveal he's a Grimm to practically every wesen he meets.
Grimms eyes don't technically woge. That's a Wesen thing and a bunch of species have been seen with just woged eyes. In just the last episode alone Max woged just his eyes 2 different times
Yeah, I know it is not the right word, but we have now learned that something happens to Nick's eyes that Wesen can see which indicates that he is a Grimm. I know the baby is not a Grimm, but maybe she has Grimm like powers besides it's evil whatever nature because it is supposed to be oh so powerful.
I thought the answer you're refering to was pretty clear. Monroe told them they would have a Vorherrscher, so it depends on whose genes are stronger whether they'll get a Blutbad or a Fuchsbau child. It's not Monroe's fault that neither Hank nor Nick can understand any German words and are too confused to ask, LOL.
I interpret Vorherrscher the way we learnt it in biology at school, with dominant and recessive genes. But that's my very own interpretation and not canon. You might be right as well. But this is way off topic now. This has nothing to do with the sneak peek or me wondering why Nick never asked Monroe (or Rosalee or Bud or even Renard) how Wesen perceive him as a Grimm. So give it a rest, okay? :-)
Wasn't my intention to argue...I just wanted to point out that the most obvious explanation might not be true (personally I like the female fuchsbau, male Blutbad variant, because it kind of reminds me of the end of lady and the tramp, or treasure planet, with the female cat and one male dog baby). I got the impression that Monroe and Rosalee deliberately worded the whole explanation confusing. When it comes to certain topics, it seems to be some kind of taboo to talk about it...which might explain why Nick never asked about the Grimm thing beforehand. It's btw very cute that Rosalee and Monroe immediately assume that the problem is case related.
''It's btw very cute that Rosalee and Monroe immediately assume that the problem is case related.''
I find it a bit sad that when person X come to see you its to ask for help 99% of the time or at least often enough to assume that everything you see that person (and being right almost every time). But hey, Monroe and Rosalee don't seem to care that much since Nick is gonna be the best man!
Just wishing we would see more ''casual'' scene, like just having a diner or do stuff just for the sake of doing stuff together. Even at the Thanksgiving dinner they were discussing dead bodies and asking help. I would love more opening or ending scenes or some 20 seconds scene, to just see the characters having a nice ''normal'' dinner or drinking beer while watching tv or whatever, being at a bar when suddenly Nick is call on a scene...etc. We have like 2 of these by seasons, more or less.
This is so exciting! I always thought Wesen could just sense it when a Grimm sees them. I wonder how they see it in his eyes, do they glow or something? I hope they explain that in the full scene because we won't see his Grimm-eyes in that episode and apparently not in the next ones either. (Perhaps the season finale or season 4?)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Good to finally know about how Wesen notice Grimms, or at least partially since the video ends before any details are said
ReplyDeleteI knew it had something to do with seeing, not scent or sound. This makes sense. Nick might wonder why he didn't have this information sooner.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. So Nick's been a Grimm for more than three years now and never even had the idea to ask Monroe how Wesen realize he's a Grimm?
ReplyDeleteFinally some explanation. That had been bugging me since the pilot.
ReplyDeleteAbout time we learn that :)

Well it is supposedly going to be an outdoors wedding at least
ReplyDeleteThe baby might have had her eyes woged or something.
ReplyDeleteThey could say he had eye surgery or something.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe contact lenses will do the trick as well.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was the light reflecting off her eyes.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, Monroe is not exactly forthcoming with this kind of information unless there is a very good reason for it. Wesen secrecy and all.

ReplyDeleteBut as far as we know the only "being" that only woges in the eyes is a Grimm. All others woge all over the face/body.

ReplyDeleteIt's not that clear...it could also mean that it will have a dominant and a secundary game face. Or that females will be Fuchsbau and males Blutbaden.
ReplyDeleteSomehow not expecting the wedding to end before the night and he'll need to keep the glasses ;P

I have the feeling that it won't matter either way...because Bud will let it slip accidentally.

ReplyDeleteIf they're having the wedding on Mt. Hood they could do it by a snowfield on a sunny day, and then everyone could wear sunglasses!
