  1. Great, imagine if it were not on HBO

  4. Great! Congrats!

  5. But ouch, poor Veep! Still good ratings for a HBO show but :( ...

  6. Nice! I hope next week beats that what with the eagerly anticipated purple wedding coming up. ;)

  7. I figured it would pass every other series this year, but awesome to see it occur in the premiere!

They said no one would watch again after killing Ned
... and the ratings went up.

They said no one would want to watch again after The Red Wedding brutality....
... and the ratings went up.

People seriously need to stop think of GOT as some generic network series!
It goes to show that if you have great material being executed by great actors reciting great writing Winter will not be the only thing coming.
    Ratings will come!

  8. Not on HBO... I'm imagining lots of rainbows and flying ponies instead of the death and sex.

  9. And Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon would be a crime fighting duo, and the only characters killed off would be red shirts (except for the rarest of occasions)

  10. "except for the rarest of occasions"
Such as an actor asking for more money or deciding to go make movies instead.

  11. Pretty much xD

  12. Triple the numbers (officially) compared to the Season 1 Premiere. Well done!

  13. Schweet.

How long does it take for HBO to release final ratings? Because I remember in season 2 (or maybe 3) of True Blood the final audience was usually 12 million or so. I'd like to see the total numbers for this this season especially since this is the first time I'm watching live each Sunday.

  14. Not that someday "somebody" will die, and people say "heey, now I wanna watch it again" and then the number of viewers plummets to the ground. That would be the evidence of reverse behavior. XD

    Last Paragraph, totally agree.

  15. I read it was 8.2 million after the next two additional airings.
I think we have to wait a week or so for the DVR and final numbers.

  16. Sweet! So glad more people are tuning in!

  17. Awesome! If only it also counted those of us who watched through "other" means, I'm sure that number was much higher!

  18. Well, it was a great episode! Not surprised that this well-crafted and well-written and well-acted show is getting outstanding ratings.

  19. The sex scenes are mostly pointless anyway.

  20. Who were saying those things o.O

    ReplyDelete
  21. Some critic's wondered if it would and some fans that had not read the books at the time said they would stop watching and were sure others would too.

    A small minority, but still....

  22. So true plus with most shows whenever fans say they won't watch it anymore because x was killed or a/b got together the majority of the time they still end up watching it! Or the outraged fans are such the minority they don't make a lot of difference.

  23. Word of mouth. :D

  24. And social media. Twitter was nuts with GoT tweets a few weeks before it started!
