The missing ratings are due to the fact that their ratings are out of the Top 100. They will be entered into the Ratings Database when they get released by the Networks later.

DAMMIT. I guess The 100 is toast. Too bad since it's one of only three good shows on the network. Ugh.

ReplyDeleteWell yeah those matter a lot more to The CW than most other networks, but I just feel like it's a goner, it doesn't look SUPER expensive, but at least a little more than most of their other shows (except Reign, maybe? But isn't that a co-production?) and if it's this low already, I'm doubtful The CW is going to give it a second chance. I hope I'm wrong though.

ReplyDeleteBut Reign got renewed before it ever hit a 0.5, so ... But they will renew either The 100 or TTP. And The 100 has bigger chances.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't listed as part of the ratings, but *legal* online viewing like Hulu, Netflix and the network's website does count towards the show's renewal chances - it makes money. It's just that most people (especially outside of the U.S.) watch via piracy, so it doesn't help the show.
ReplyDeleteWell, it still kept most of Arrow's audience. Although it's odd that it rated a tenth higher after an Arrow repeat last week.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, The CW could even conceivably cancel both. Their schedule for next season looks really packed.
ReplyDeletei was referring to "legal" viewing. didnt know that. i thought they simply sold the rights (like syndication) to places like hulu and netflix for a set amount.
ReplyDeleteYou may be right about how it works - I'm not too familiar with the process. But I don't think the fee you get for a show has a set amount. Syndication deals vary in their worth (for example, Elementary recently scored an extremely lucrative one which guarantees the show will stick around for a few years) - it must be the same with selling a show to Netflix and such. Also, since Hulu and the network's websites show ads during the episodes, I believe they do track the number of viewers and charge the advertisers accordingly. So it works just like live viewing: the more people watch a show and therefore commercials, the more money the network makes off it, and therefore the bigger chance it has to get renewed.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 will get renewed especially because it's a midseason show. TTP is dead.
