Which is again the hackneyed conflict - if/when a cop is losing their gun, it is officially recorded, together with the circumstances. The same happened with Ryan. So if she had lost her backup piece (when? during her latest affair with Simmons?) she should be clear now from being a suspect just because of the weapon. But this is Marlowe, so common sense and logic is on another channel.
Can't wait...god I love finale month...of all the finales so far only been impressed by suits, HIMYM and the others that have aired I have been disappointed with.
Beckett likely should have reported the gun missing so if it is used in a crime, the cop would not be in trouble....but having Beckett under investigation make the episode more interesting
To me not, it makes the episode only forced and badly written. Unlike the "normal" Castle episodes, where the show can live on purely the thrown-in Caskett moments, here the plot should be important too. I think it's not such an outlandish demand that those two, maximum three episodes in a season where we should take the case seriously and just a backdrop, should be written solidly.
We still don´t know in wich circunstances she lost her gun, so maybe you are jumping a little ahead?!:) For example, she may not have reported it because she didn´t want to tell how and why she lost it? That, at least for me, would be realistic - imagine she lost it while she was, secretly, monitoring Vulcan Simmons; she wouldn´t want to explain it to her superiors, I suppose...
That's exactly the same forced conflict: Beckett, the Supercop not only do a private investigation but when she loses her gun to a criminal (assuming you are right) she doesn't report it. Of course it's much easier to Marlowe to write the whole story as a personal vendetta than a coherent case, because in this case all the plotholes can be hidden behind the "she is obsessed" tag. (BTW, wasn't it one of the main topic of S5 that she isn't obsessed anymore?)
Well, we´ll never totally agree:) If you tell me she shouldn´t do a private investigation using her work gun, I agree. If you tell me it´s not realistic or coherent case, then I don´t agree...
I will wait till the actual episode, but based on the latest installments of the Bracken story (mainly TBoTB, which limped from one plothole to another, hoping that Stana's stern look and waterproof mascara will be enough for the fans) I have no high hopes in any coherent plotline beyond the "poor Beckett is in danger" theatrics.
Remember when she was kidnapped and wrote a letter to Castle and spilled a few drops of her blood to guide him to the letter at that moment I thought that somehow they will use this blood to frame her maybe I will be right.
If she lost it during an action, she should have realised. If it was stolen - I'm fed up with our heroes living under deadly threats from super powerful politicians and super powerful psychopaths, but everybody can come and go in their homes as they like.
You are right she is saying 'I lost my back up piece'. Man I called it, when the pics first came out on twitter, That Kate will be framed and on the run and that is why she is wearing a dark hoody and hiding out. This is like it is all coming full circle. Castle was framed in 5.05 by 3XK and Kate is framed in 6.22 by Bracken
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
how did the killer get Beckett gun? It obviously the senator set her up to prevent her from taking him down
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for this episode.
ReplyDeleteNo she says that is my backup piece,
ReplyDeleteI am glad Vulcan Simmons is dead unfortunately Kate has too big of a motive in wanting him dead since he had her beaten and almost killed.

Looking forward to this! Hopefully the fallout isn't too bad.

ReplyDeleteRob Bowman directing.. It will definitely be amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeckett probably did not realise that she had lost her backup gun(as she does not uses it all the time) untill lanie told her
