and thus getting rid of any justification for Roy to be on Team Arrow ? Guess they would only do that to have Roy leave town and the show.
I actually doubt they'll kill Slade off, a lot like Malcolm he's one of these villains they should keep in their villains gallery to use whenever there's need for them.
A superhero themed show is always just as good as its recurring villains
"and thus getting rid of any justification for Roy to be on Team Arrow ?" Uh, no. Redemption, keeping him out of trouble, still wanting to help the city like he did before the mirakuru, Oliver wanting to give Roy the second chance he couldn't give Slade? Any one will do. Take your pick.
"I actually doubt they'll kill Slade off, a lot like Malcolm he's one of these villains they should keep in their villains gallery to use whenever there's need for them." They may not permanently dispatch him but he won't be sticking around.
"A superhero themed show is always just as good as its recurring villains" Another good reason why he's not getting cured.
exactly! they cant say now, "Oh tehre is a cure and i forgot, sorry, my bad" they cant... if the cure really exist it had to be destroyed and noone else knows how to do it
It was already mentioned by one of the producers that Roy is becoming Arsenal, so I highly doubt we'll be seeing Roy leaving the show anytime soon.
After watching the clip, my first thought was that the cure would be known in the past, but will only be used in the present, as in it will be used on Roy during the "Seeing Red" episode, but the cure won't exactly be a cure. It could work in the way that it helps Roy regain his sanity, but it will keep his enhanced strength, speed, senses as well as his regenerative abilities intact.
'I won't kill Helena because I created her and I can save her'. 'Hey Roy, go break up with Thea so she's safe.' 'Hey Sara, call your dad so that Slade can be arrested with no evidence and imply to the cops that Quentin is working with me, the Arrow.' Oliver's logic in general has been incredibly flawed lately.
Exactly right. At present, Oliver doesn't have a very realistic view of what he does and how he best helps the city. He's not a cop and he's not a social worker.
It's too bad they're so determined to have island flashbacks in nearly every episode over the course of 5 seasons, to correspond with Oliver's 5 years there. These scenes are like a sleeping curse from OUaT, and I honestly don't feel like they illuminate how Oliver transformed from the spoiled douche who got on the Queen's Gambit to the battered warrior he is now. They just feel like a pointless, boring-ass parallel story that's being used as filler.
Going off on a tangent here, but I just have to get this out there. After that scene where Oliver convinces Roy to break up with Thea for her safety (flawed logic at its best - or rather worst), I seriously feel that he is becoming like Moira. His telling Roy "You love [Thea] and that's why you'll do what I ask" was eerily similar to Moira telling Felicity that since she cares about Oliver, she won't tell him about Merlyn being Thea's father. Oliver can be just as cold and calculating about manipulating people through their feelings as the mother he resents so much for her lies.
Not the only one! I definitely want a redemption arc for Slade! Having met Manu, I want him to stay on the show forever - and get to be a good guy again!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
and here we have our magic McGuffin to turn Slade 'back' into an anti-hero for the remainder of the series. How convenient.
ReplyDeleteProps to them if they don't go trough with it !
Nah. Slade will end up dead before a cure is acquired but it will be used on Roy, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI like Anatoli. For a Russian gangster, he's a rather laid-back guy.
ReplyDeleteand thus getting rid of any justification for Roy to be on Team Arrow ?

they cant bring out a "cure" for the mirakuru now, after Oliver going on and on agains Slade they just cant!
ReplyDelete"and thus getting rid of any justification for Roy to be on Team Arrow ?"

Another good reason why he's not getting cured.
I doubt the Mirakuru cure would restore his sanity though, it'll just weaken him and make the fight more even for Oliver.
ReplyDeleteyeah, and he said, that the only way to stop him, was to kill him.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Slade's brain is fried. If he was to get the Mira-cure-ru he'd still be just as nuts.
ReplyDeleteexactly! they cant say now, "Oh tehre is a cure and i forgot, sorry, my bad" they cant... if the cure really exist it had to be destroyed and noone else knows how to do it
ReplyDeleteHe so needs to be a regular. He is possibly my favourite character on the show.
ReplyDeleteIt was already mentioned by one of the producers that Roy is becoming Arsenal, so I highly doubt we'll be seeing Roy leaving the show anytime soon.

He'd be nuts, but at least they could stop him.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the cure is just pure BS from Ivo.
ReplyDeleteIf they do find it, I'm guessing there will be one dosage, and it will come down to killing Slade or saving Roy, and Ollie will choose to save Roy
I don't know which Sara annoys me more. Past Sara or present Sara. *Sigh*
ReplyDeleteDamn why does everyone hate her. She barely even said anything in this clip.
ReplyDeleteSince Alexi Leonov is now dead they do have an opening in the Starling City Bratva.
ReplyDeleteYes! Although, he is funnier on the island. I could make a funniest lines video from season 2 and half of it would be from him.
ReplyDeleteA hollow point bullet in the head could stop him too but that's just my personal preference talking.
ReplyDeleteI thought that when Oliver went up against Cyrus Gold. Why shoot arrows at his body - why not his face?
ReplyDeleteYou can probably chalk that up to Oliver and his unreasonable, untenable 'no killing' rule. The sooner he drops that policy the better.
ReplyDelete'I won't kill Helena because I created her and I can save her'. 'Hey Roy, go break up with Thea so she's safe.' ReplyDeleteHe should just stick to firing arrows and that's it.
ReplyDeleteHmm, i think i know where this is headed.
ReplyDeleteI love Sara.
ReplyDeleteHe's on the island with Oliver now so you may get more of him in season three even if he's not a regular.
ReplyDeleteThing is, we don't know exactly when he returns to Russia. For all we know, it could be any episode now. That will be a sad day.
ReplyDeleteI know it won't happen, but am I the only one who wants Slade and Oliver to become friends again. I would love to see that !!!
ReplyDeleteSlade is WAY too far gone for that. Not to mention the amount of backwards character development that would be.
ReplyDeleteNot a chance. These villains, especially Ivo, will say anything to prolong their life.
ReplyDeleteI like Sara, I just HATE that thing she does with her mouth. :D
ReplyDeleteTrue... but still.. a girl can dream ;-) but I completely agree with what you say.

ReplyDeletewhen she looks like she's sucking on a lemon? yeah same. lol
ReplyDeleteIf Oliver learned of a cure in the past, why the hell hasn't he thought to mention it in the present? Or pursue that possible solution before? :-/
ReplyDeleteExactly! I'm laughing so hard now!
ReplyDeleteI feel like it's just the nearly batsh!t crazy "Olicity" fans that hate.
ReplyDeleteI like Olicity, but I like Sara and Oliver together as well, both couples (would) look good together, I only hate the mouth thingy, really. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the point is that so many like her, that the few who don't feel compelled to comment on their dislike at every opportunity.
ReplyDeleteNot the only one! I definitely want a redemption arc for Slade! Having met Manu, I want him to stay on the show forever - and get to be a good guy again!
