Moira and Sara. I believe Sara dying is what will inspire Laurel to begin training. Oliver is an orphan in most canon so guessing Moira will die by Slade's hand.
Moira or Diggle....yeah, I know, unpopular opinion, but hear me out: I have the feeling that the writers moved away from their original plans for Laurel, considering how much they downplayed the "epic love" she had with Oliver in the first season. In fact, they deconstructed it so much that nothing seems to be left of it. Nevertheless I doubt that they will kill off Laurel - that would be the easiest, but also the most predictable path. And with Sara...she basically already had a "death scene" so epic, that it is impossible to top. But looking at the other characters, the only ones which are not just at the start of their story arcs (like Sin, Thea and Roy are) and are somewhat expendable are Moira and Diggle.
True. Don't care for either of them... Moira is only valuable in the dynamic of the show because of her secrets and lately Diggle just seems to be there... although I don't think he will die unless he deals with deadshot.
I don't want either of them to die, but Moira and Sara are my guesses. Moira seems to have lost Oliver's trust forever and the same, perhaps worse, will most likely happen with Thea when she learns the truth. The entire Queen family seems to be on the verge of falling apart due to the secret of Thea's parentage. As much as I like Moira, her main function on the show is as the mother of her children, and I can't see how her relationships with them is going to recover from this latest blow. Plus, with the cruel way she tried to manipulate Felicity into lying to Oliver, the sympathetic portrayal of Moira as a woman prepared to take responsibility for her sins seems to be over. Since I can't see her becoming a full-fleged villain, I have a feeling this is going to lead to her demise. Actually, I can already see Oliver in Angst Mode next season: "My mother died thinking I hated her"... sigh. Sara, well... we're all thinking it (if hoping otherwise). They've said many times that they plan on making Laurel the BC and it's hard to see that happening unless Sara dies or at least gives up the mantle - e.g., after being crippled. What's more, whereas I thought there was a good chance they would change their plans and keep Sara after the initial enthusiastic fan response to 2x04/2x05, she doesn't seem to be getting much love in the fandom nowadays. Her hooking up with Oliver again both makes her unsympathetic (seriously, bringing him to dinner at Laurel's when her sister is an addict and a mess?) and incurs the wrath of Olicity fans who want them together. Despite the fact that we've always known this about her, Sara being a "boyfriend stealer" is being held against her a lot more often now, with she and Oliver being back together despite everything. This relationship makes both characters look selfish and inconsiderate towards Laurel's feelings. And since Felicity is "in the running" for Olivert's heart, too, Sara is constantly being pitted against Felicity who is Miss Congeniality in this fandom, so of course that doesn't do Sara any favors. As for the others: I don't think Slade will be killed off as early as the end of this season, Deathstroke is a HUGE nemesis for Green Arrow and they'll want to get more mileage out of the character. Plus, they didn't kill Malcolm. Felicity is way too popular for them to touch her. Roy is only starting his journey to become Oliver's sidekick, would make zero sense to kill him off at such an early point in the series. Sin is negligible and her death wouldn't have much of an emotional impact - only Sara, Roy and Thea would be affected by it. Diggle, Thea or Quentin could die but I don't see that it would serve much purpose beyond angst. Although I guess they could bait and switch and have Quentin's death, not Sara's, be the catalyst for Laurel putting on the figurative BC fishnets. Kinda makes sense since he was a cop and dedicated his life to battling crime. I don't know what they plan to do with Thea at this point since two Speedy's would be as redundant as two Canaries, and Roy is clearly the one being set up to play that particular role. Team Arrow is already too big. I've gone back and forth in my thoughts about Laurel, for a while I had a feeling that they were making her unlikable on purpose in order to villify her/kill her off and cement Sara's role as BC, but after they had her reconcile with Sara and start to pick up the pieces of her life in 2x14, I'm rethinking that. Will she become BC? If not, where does she go from here? Your guess is as good as mine.
I really hope Sara is safe. Roy would be an interesting one as it would affect a few characters. I cant see them killing any of the team (Felicity or Diggle) or the family (Moira or Thea)
True, but that is still only this season. They can be given contracts for next year. If the show wants to keep us in suspense they would have signed them and not announced it yet. Slade didn't start out as a regular, neither did Felicity. That said, I am afraid that Sara is slated to not make it.
I wonder if Sara has been added to the main cast but they aren't listing her as such in the press releases for some reason. She's been in nearly every episode this season, more than a few of the actual regulars, I believe.
Thanks for choosing my poll! I think it's Moira and Slade that won't get to see the third season. Moira's arc seems to be kind of over and Slade, well, he is the villain so I guess he needs to die. I don't want Moira to die though and that also counts for Sara.
I remember being doubtful about Sin, but I guess in the end I added her. But you totally got a point if you say she shouldn't be one of the options.
As for Sara, she has appeared in every episode but the second, so she technically could be considered a regular. Especially because there are regulars who have been in fewer episodes.
Moira: Very possible but unlikely. She fills the required "family drama" filler aspect of the show.
Thea: Same as Moira but her plot of being Malcolm's daughter needs to be fully told.
Sara: Very, very likely. Its so likely its practically a foregone conclusion. Sometime in the near future she will die heroically providing the catalyst for Laurel to take up her sister's mantle and become Black Canary.
Laurel: Very, very unlikely to impossible. She's the romantic lead and heroine of the show. Her destiny is to become Black Canary and go off into the sunset with Oliver.
Slade: Very, very unlikely. Deathstroke the Terminator has many more adventures to have.
Quentin: Same as Moira.
Diggle: Very unlikely. He's Alfred with a gun. He supports the hero. Plus there doesn't exist a TV executive that won't jump at the opportunity of making money and there is traction to the idea of a Suicide Squad spin off. Diggle would be the character that connects the two shows.
Felicity: Unlikely for Season 2 but overall possible. She's the Chloe of Arrow which means she'll likely have a happy ending but is there in no small part to drive juvenile shipper arguments between fans of the show.
Roy: Very unlikely. "Speedy", "Red Arrow", "Arsenal" or whatever name he ultimately goes by has many more adventures to have.
Sin: Very likely. She's nothing but a plot device.
Sara and Sin seem to be the most likely. However Sara pretty much has taken some kind of oath to protect Sin so my bet would be on Sara. Also if Sara was going to survive I'd think Caity Lotz would have been announced as a regular for next season. Early guess is Sara dies, Laurel figures out about Oliver, and Laurel asks to be trained to fight the League of Shadows.
I think Quentin has the most chances to die before the end of this season. Moira's days could be numbered too. I hope they don't kill Sara and hope to see Slade remaining as a multi-years villain but considering they returned Malcolm, they might kill Slade for good at the end of the season. That would be annoying because I prefer Slade to Malcolm as a big bad personally, but oh well..
I agree with you regarding the producers'/writers' plan for Sara and Laurel. I have liked Sara much more than I had expected to, though, and I can only hope they've changed their minds about how to handle that arc. Maybe if Sara becomes wheelchair-bound at the end of the season (Arrow universe's Oracle?) it could make room for Laurel to still become Black Canary?
After Tommy's death last season, it would almost seem like a retread (and lack of creativity) to kill another one of Oliver's friends at the end of this season.
I think it depends on the situations though. Felicity wasn't suppose to be around more but fans liked her. She was easier to promote because they could fit her in which benefits the story. For Sara's case maybe her story ends with death which is why she isn't promoted as a regular, maybe she'll disappear before the finale.
My first place is Quentin. They will slowly pull Laurel into Quentin's position as to a tie in with legal system. Second guess would be Sara even though I don't want that to happen.
IMO Slade won't die but will be captured and given to ARGUS for detaining.
I agree Sara is going to definitely die but not in season 2. I think she will die in season 3 by then they can build up Laurel's character and start her journey towards BC. I don't like it at all but this is what I think will happen.
I don't see Moira dying at all. I see her falling out with Thea this season, becoming mayor by the end of the season. Next season she will be the mayor and try to fall back into her children's good graces with Malcolm around. I don't think there is enough time left this season for Malcolm story line to play out and we haven't heard John Barrowman shooting yet. So I think he will be a presence next season.
I agree about Sara. I will cry bitterly when she dies even though I get hot and cold about her all the time. I think Quentin will bite the dust this season and Sara next season end. This will give Laurel some thing to do. She can be the connection between legal system and Arrow until Sara dies and then can train to become BC. (I hate myself for speculating this)
Here's the thing: I'm expecting another twist, and a very surprise move from the writers. Last year I was sure that Merlyn would die and Tommy would take the mantle. And look what happenned. The thing about Black Canary in the comics is that she is a martial artist first and a metahuman second. Sara has this, Laurel does not. And Caity is doing a great job, so i don't know what what will happen, but Sara is my perfect canary, no one else!
I think they are not promoting her to a regular to keep people guessing. For all purposes she is a regular this season. She has more scenes than every one except Oliver this season.
No. People are assuming some one will die. I read some where someone will die in ep 18. I think that was a speculation considering in the 3 min trailer Moira and Oliver was wearing black and looking sad.
I don't care if anyone dies this season or not. But if any one dies please let the death stick this time. Too many people has been considered dead and came back in this show and it is only season 2. We have Solomon Grundy waiting to rise from death in the pipeline not any more.
Probably not Roy given in the comics he becomes Red Arrow and Arsenal, not to mention the mileage arrow could get out of his drug use and loss of his arm.
I've actually had the idea about Laurel being Team Arrow's connection to the legal system myself, although I didn't consider that Quentin would have to die for that to happen. I guess both of them performing that function would be redundant. We don't need both a cop and a lawyer helping Team Arrow, or it'll become kinda like Law & Order. LOL. But anyway, I sincerely hope they don't kill both Quentin and Sara. If I could have my wish, no Lance would die, but killing two members of the family would be absolutely horrific for the remaining two. They've suffered more than enough, let's not go overboard with the angst and misery. I have such mixed feelings about Sara and Sara/Oliver (more so the latter) now. I agree with what you said once, I would be enthusiastically behind Canarrow if Sara was someone Oliver met on Ivo's ship and the rest of their story was exactly the same, but her being Laurel's sister inevitably sullies the relationship. I can't get past the selfishness of these two showing up at dinner together at the house of Sara's drug addicted, depressed sister who has already been hurt by them once and who's on the outs with Sara. Classic case of the writers sacrificing characterization for the sake of soapy drama. Overall, Sara's character has become "too much of a good thing" to me. Her cool/exciting factor further wears off the longer she's around. She's the type of character who should be out there on her own adventures and only show up every now and then. I hope she and Huntress find their Oracle, form the BoP and go fight crime in another city while remaining on Oliver's speed-dial for whenever he needs a hand. Whether you view Sara as BC or not, it shouldn't really be a problem because the comic versions of GA & BC aren't joined at the hip, either.
I'd say Slade and Sara. It seems they're getting ready to wrap up the whole island experience plotline, so it would only make sense to let these two die with it. Then they can start Ollie on a new trajectory next season. My guess is that the whole 'Thea & Malcolm' topic is going to be big, so they'll need Moira for that. Of course, I could be totally wrong about this. My predictions usually are.
A part of me says Sara, but I really like her. And she's the perfect Canary. I don't know if she'll stay in Starling, though. I vote Sin and I'm not sure why.
if I had to guess, it'd be between Sara and laurel, with Sara the most likely candidate as I think the long term plan is for Laurel to take over the mantle of Black Canary... it there's a 3rd choice, I'd think Sin. You gotta figure that Slade will be the overall nemesis for Oliver thoroughout the series, ala Lex Luthor, and wont be dying anytime soon
I adore Sara, but a big part of what makes the character work is the ability of the actress to make all the fighting look convincingly. Plus, she mostly acts with the body (meaning she expresses emotions more through subtle shifts in her stance) and for a wheel chair role you would need one who ideally expresses a lot with the eyes (Thea) or at least has a very expressive face (Felicity). I'm not sure if the writers will stick to the original plan, considering that Sara is way more popular than Laurel. In any case though, they all might survive this time around just because we all expect someone to die.
Really..people want Sin dead as much as Laurel? I must be watching a different show (probably one where that totally cute hugging scene between Sara & Sin did not occur). Laurel is pretty much the only negative with regards to Arrow. I still wish the writers had killed off Laurel instead of Tommy in the S1 finale...Tommy was infinitely more interesting & fun!
Yeah, I recall Nikita did something similar last season. A character died in episode 18 of the season, but press releases up to episode 21 were issued before this episode aired, so they continued listing the actor who played that character in them, even though he wasn't in the episodes. Removing his name from the descriptions of episodes 19-21 would've revealed that his character was the one biting it before 18 had aired, so they kept it in.
Island experience won't end this season. Creatives has said repeatedly they have 5 seasons worth of island story to tell one season for each year Oliver was away from Starling. Slade and Sara could still be dead by the end of this season.
Honestly, while not a comic reader I don't see how Laurel shares anything with her comic counterpart beyond the name. So unless name accuracy is everything, she isn't the "rightful" Canary any more than Sara is.
They will only kill one Lance this season if they do. If Quentin dies this season then Sara will have extended life for one or two more seasons during which they will slowly make Laurel a part of Team Arrow. Now if Sara is the one who dies then Quentin will be safe for a long time. I am trying to get past my irritation with Sara and Sara/Oliver. Its not working. It was the same with Laurel/Oliver in season 1. I disliked the character Laurel in season 1 but always thought that they will pair up Oliver and her together and I was ready for their story to develop. But writers for the shock value made them jump into bed together without any build up thus hurting Tommy whom they both love very much. I haven't forgiven both Oliver and Laurel for that. (its the same situation this season with Sara if you think about it the hurt party being Laurel) Oliver gained some points with me early this season because he seemed to be careful of the feelings of Laurel, Felicity and Digg. Now its back to square one. Writers should stop writing romance period. They are really bad at it. Just stop please. I don't think Sara is the kind of character who will stay and follow Oliver's rules. She is the kind of woman who like to call the shots. She is too big a personality to be in the Arrow cave full time. She needs her own team and her own missions. That being said if they go that way I don't want the show to follow those missions too. They should let her be absent few episodes and then come back. That was the main issue with later seasons of Smallville. Too many story arcs. This show should be about Arrow and Oliver mainly.
I hope Sara doesn't die. Not just because I like her chatacter, but because we have already seen fallout from her death and I don't think repeating that is all that interesting. If it was for the "my father is evil" storyline, I would would pick Thea as the death. I like Thea too, but her death could lead to some interesting development for Oliver, Moria and Roy.
And yea, I know Sara's death could mean Laurel being BC. But I truly hate this idea so much I hope they don't do it, no matter what the comics say. And I don't hate Laurel, I just don't buy that she can do what it took Sara years to do.
I really like Moria, so I hope she doesn't die. But if she does, I hope she finds out the truth about Oliver first. I would just love to see her reaction.
I also think that some event will occur in the next episodes that will have Sara distance herself from the team. I am more excited about the possibility that al Ghul is coming to Starling city, according to an interview with Manu Bennett. I am thinking we could also expect reappearance from Nyssa in the present That Lance family dinner really left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. It actually made me feel for Laurel for the first time ever. I am really dreading the Sara/Laurel/Oliver story. Because as soon as Oliver knows that Laurel was right about Blood he will most likely run to her begging for forgiveness. And i really hope there will be no more storylines about the "Lance family drama" at least in this season. Give us more Quentin and less Laurel.
[Laurel: Very, very unlikely to impossible. She's the romantic lead and heroine of the show. Her destiny is to become Black Canary and go off into the sunset with Oliver.]
Have you been watching the show lately?, because this is so outdated. Laurel is no longer the romantic lead nor the leading heroine. Oliver/laurel have been over for a long time. They dont have chemistry and the love story has been damaged beyond believe. There is no way back from this, unless the show wants to get itself cancelled
Sara right now has a bid red mark on her. She will most likely play a big part in Slade's plan to destroy Oliver and make him suffer. Didn't you see how Slade reacted when he saw her. And most people probably reacting to that.
As I told someone else, the poll asks who you THINK will die, not who you WISH will. Of course, sometimes these two get mixed up. Still, a lot of people who voted for Sara probably don't actually want her dead, but have a feeling it will happen. I know that's true for me (voted for Sara and Moira even though I'd like both to live).
I have been watching the show. Every episode. I have been watching a show that has set up long term plots and character developments.
A show that is produced by a second tier network that needs to develop new shows for next season (which every network does) and is known to hold on to moderately successful shows longer than others in the TV industry would expect. Smallville for example lasted 10 years. We have every reason to assume that Arrow will last at least 8 years. This being the case then Arrow has lots of story telling left to do.
I have been watching a show that is based on well established comic book mythology: whom the producers respect. A show based on a comic book character whose name is Dinah Laurel Lance. A character who falls in love with and marries a character named Oliver Queen.
What I'm saying is that despite what is happening right now in the story, there is lots of story left to tell and when its all said and done: Laurel will become Black Canary and end up with Oliver.
Its already done. Its a foregone conclusion. There was no question as to IF Anakin Skywalker would become Darth Vader, or IF Lois Lane would be with Superman. Its always been a question of how and when.
Just sit back and enjoy the story and remember seven or so years from now when the series finale finishes that Historical_Materialist told you do.
I wasn't aware of this. But come to think of it, we saw the wreck of the freighter in the bay when Oliver was rescued. So neither Slade nor Sarah got away on that ship, which means there could be more island story to come involving them.
Actually Oliver said on the show he saw Sara die on the island and he said the last person with mirakuru on the island was burned by him. He thought both of them dead. He wouldn't think that if they left. Everything is still so vague.
The show respects the mythology, but it also plays with it. It looks like if they ever add Speedy into the mix, her name will be Thea Dreadon Queen instead of Mia Dreadon, for example. Roy Harper apparently has no Native American roots. Nothing is set in stone, and there has been a notable shift in writing AND advertising. In the first season, Laurel had the place beside Oliver and was featured heavily in the advertising. They also put a high emphasis on the "star-crossed lovers" concept. For the second season, Laurel is suddenly in the background and the female character which is featured most prominently is definitely Felicity. They also did their very best to rewrite the "they were always meant for each other" concept. I doubt that the writers will allow themselves to get stopped by a name to do whatever they planed. They might be stopped by whatever contract KC has, though. We will see. But sonic is right: Laurel isn't the romantic lead of the show any longer.
I am not a comic book reader but from what I read on internet HIVE has a huge tie in with Deathstroke. They are a group of international supervillains who hire Deathstroke to kill Teen Titans and they are responsible for doing experiments on Deathstroke's son and making him ravager. So if Slade doesn't die this season HIVE might come to play next season. More than that some of the villains in HIVE are villains for Flash too. So it will be a perfect vehicle for future Arrow/Flash crossovers.
I believe It wont be Diggle because the character has been added to the Green Arrow mythology in the comics, very recently, they wouldn't do that, and he's the brigde to ARGUS. I believe that either Sarah would die, at least for real, since she's been better as Black Canary than the "real" Canary... In the comics there's a Sin who's a child trained by the League of Assassins, that Canary adopt her, but later is forced to forge her death to protect her, in the show they added her as Sarah's protégé. Sin dying could have potential to Sarah, Roy and Thea. Thea dying would have huge implications to Oliver, Moira and Roy, and could open the possibility to introduce Mia Dearden, who became Speedy in the comics. Laurel dying could actually work, although there's a chance that she could become Black Canary someday, but since Sarah has being Canary since the beginning, even showing her with the Birds of Prey episode it would be strange if they changed her to Laurel, that wouldn't work. Slade dying only as the same as Merlyn, by not actually dying, just forging their death. Roy's death wouldn't make sense. Felicity has become very popular, killing her wouldn't please the fans, and she's gradually gaining importance, even to become what Chloe was in Smallville, personally she's, for me, essential I like her a lot, even to wish her becoming Oliver's romantic pair someday, or Diggle. Quentin has the potential to become detective or even commissioner and become the Gordon of Arrow, besides he is already helping Oliver, I just don't know how he hasn't deduced the Arrow's identity. Moira dying could work, but I think that's already to soon to that. Anyway, I think the only plausible death is Laurel, Moira or Sin. Slade and Sarah only if a "fake" death...
Recently was shown that his mother was still alive when he returned from the island, and if I remember correctly she died of cancer. But her death could work, but I think that in this season is too soon.
I agree with you, they deconstructed her so much, and having her sister being Black Canary worked so well and was so well accepted by basically everybody that I guess she lost her place.
I agree with you about Sara becoming a way better Black Canary than Laure, maybe killing Laurel would be the reason that she and Oliver would break up, leaving the way opened to Felicity. Slade won't die, since he's a huge villain in the comics. His death could be a fake one. Diggle is safe, since he became so popular that he was added in the comic as Arrow's partner.
At this point it's just speculation, but I bet they'll say something about a big character death before the finale. At this point, shows are so determined to create hype that they usually tease the important character deaths beforehand, which is a shame because if they kept a lid on them they'd obviously be more shocking and hit harder.
You're kidding, right? It's only S2 and it's not even the end of S2. Laurel and Ollie has so many more chapter they are the on-off pairing of this show. Historical M is correct Katie is this show's female lead. Smallville is actually an excellent example when it comes this show and it's not wise to bank of a guest star (Caity's Sara) or regular that not the lead (Emily's Felicity)
In order of most probable IMO 1- Laurel 2- Moira 3- Sin 4- Slade 5- Sara 6- Multiple names off this list 7- None The rest are not going anywhere. Too many of you seem to be under the naïve assumption they are going to follow the comic books to a tee....which they already haven't, often. Laurel has literally become the 3rd most relevant & popular female on the show. There are more solid reasons I expect this. Moira - I think a season 3 death of her is more likely, but a S2 one isn't improbable. Sin - has not yet developed into a relevant piece that is necessary to the overall story. Only think holding her back from being 2nd right now is the fact her character has gained considerable popularity with some fans. Could be a Felicity style rebranding of her for S3 to be more relevant. Slade - the main baddie currently is always a possibility. But they can kill off Brother Blood & push Slade off for another year. Sara - This ONLY happens if Laurel is kept around.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Slade.
ReplyDeleteRoy and Moira are my best guesses. Slade I would think as well, but they might pull a Malcolm and have him guest for the third season.
ReplyDeleteMoira and Sara.
ReplyDeleteI believe Sara dying is what will inspire Laurel to begin training.
Oliver is an orphan in most canon so guessing Moira will die by Slade's hand.
Either Sara or Slade.
ReplyDeleteSara and Slade I guess. I just hope they won´t kill Felicity or Diggle
ReplyDeleteNot Sara 😢😢

I really hope Sara is safe. Roy would be an interesting one as it would affect a few characters. I cant see them killing any of the team (Felicity or Diggle) or the family (Moira or Thea)
ReplyDeleteTrue, but that is still only this season. They can be given contracts for next year. If the show wants to keep us in suspense they would have signed them and not announced it yet. Slade didn't start out as a regular, neither did Felicity. That said, I am afraid that Sara is slated to not make it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Sara has been added to the main cast but they aren't listing her as such in the press releases for some reason. She's been in nearly every episode this season, more than a few of the actual regulars, I believe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for choosing my poll! I think it's Moira and Slade that won't get to see the third season. Moira's arc seems to be kind of over and Slade, well, he is the villain so I guess he needs to die. I don't want Moira to die though and that also counts for Sara.
ReplyDeleteI remember being doubtful about Sin, but I guess in the end I added her. But you totally got a point if you say she shouldn't be one of the options.
ReplyDeleteAs for Sara, she has appeared in every episode but the second, so she technically could be considered a regular. Especially because there are regulars who have been in fewer episodes.
Well, she is listed as Guest Star in the PRs.
ReplyDeleteFrom episode 14 and onwards she hasn't. This could either be laziness from the CW or proof that they consider her a regular.
ReplyDeleteBut I get your point - she's a guest star. Only one who has appeared very regularly on the show.
Yep, same as MacKenzie Lintz during Season 1 of UTD.
ReplyDeleteSlade or Sara or both
ReplyDeleteTrue. I would assume Caity Lotz will be promoted to regular for season 3 if she doesn't die and remains the Black Canary. But that's a big if.
ReplyDeleteHere is my analysis:
ReplyDeleteMoira: Very possible but unlikely.
Sara, Quentin and Sin are recurring characters, not regulars.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly certain Paul Blackthorne (Quentin) is a regular.
ReplyDeleteSara and Sin seem to be the most likely.
ReplyDeleteI think Quentin has the most chances to die before the end of this season.
ReplyDeleteMoria/Syn. I just hope it's not Sara. I can't see Laurel as Canary, even if that's the way it happens in the comics. Caity is my Canary all the way!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you regarding the producers'/writers' plan for Sara and Laurel. I have liked Sara much more than I had expected to, though, and I can only hope they've changed their minds about how to handle that arc. Maybe if Sara becomes wheelchair-bound at the end of the season (Arrow universe's Oracle?) it could make room for Laurel to still become Black Canary?
ReplyDeleteAfter Tommy's death last season, it would almost seem like a retread (and lack of creativity) to kill another one of Oliver's friends at the end of this season.
Well, my guess is Moira, Slade or Quentin. Although i don't want Slade to die just yet, i think he is a great big bad for the show.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't want Sara to die, i love her character on the show!
Oh, I haven't even thought about Moira. But you might be right about it.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on the situations though. Felicity wasn't suppose to be around more but fans liked her. She was easier to promote because they could fit her in which benefits the story. For Sara's case maybe her story ends with death which is why she isn't promoted as a regular, maybe she'll disappear before the finale.
ReplyDeleteMy first place is Quentin. They will slowly pull Laurel into Quentin's position as to a tie in with legal system. Second guess would be Sara even though I don't want that to happen.
ReplyDeleteIMO Slade won't die but will be captured and given to ARGUS for detaining.
I don't want Slade to die, but when shows reuse villains each season, (Heroes: Sylar, VampDiaries: Klaus) they get old.
ReplyDeleteI agree Sara is going to definitely die but not in season 2. I think she will die in season 3 by then they can build up Laurel's character and start her journey towards BC. I don't like it at all but this is what I think will happen.
ReplyDeletePlease Sara, the actress is so annoying
ReplyDeleteI don't see Moira dying at all.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Sara. I will cry bitterly when she dies even though I get hot and cold about her all the time. I think Quentin will bite the dust this season and Sara next season end. This will give Laurel some thing to do. She can be the connection between legal system and Arrow until Sara dies and then can train to become BC. (I hate myself for speculating this)
Diggle still has HIVE story to play out ion season 3. So no Diggle. Sara won't die this season.
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing: I'm expecting another twist, and a very surprise move from the writers.
ReplyDeleteHas it even been announced that someone is going to die this season?
ReplyDeleteI think they are not promoting her to a regular to keep people guessing. For all purposes she is a regular this season. She has more scenes than every one except Oliver this season.
ReplyDeleteYes?
ReplyDeleteNo. People are assuming some one will die. I read some where someone will die in ep 18. I think that was a speculation considering in the 3 min trailer Moira and Oliver was wearing black and looking sad.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if anyone dies this season or not. But if any one dies please let the death stick this time. Too many people has been considered dead and came back in this show and it is only season 2. We have Solomon Grundy waiting to rise from death in the pipeline not any more.
ReplyDeleteMoira, then Oliver will run for Mayor
ReplyDeleteHas there been spoiler that we will ACTUALLY get a regular character death or are we simple guessing IF there is one,who will it be?
ReplyDeleteMy guesses are Moira or Roy. I wouldn't be upset if it was Sara! And on the other hand I would be royally upset if it was Felicity.
ReplyDeleteNo I this is just a reader submitted poll. Havent heard anything about a death.
ReplyDeleteProbably not Roy given in the comics he becomes Red Arrow and Arsenal, not to mention the mileage arrow could get out of his drug use and loss of his arm.
ReplyDeleteI've actually had the idea about Laurel being Team Arrow's connection to the legal system myself, although I didn't consider that Quentin would have to die for that to happen.
ReplyDeleteI have such mixed feelings about Sara and Sara/Oliver (more so the latter) now.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I could be totally wrong about this. My predictions usually are.
A part of me says Sara, but I really like her. And she's the perfect Canary. I don't know if she'll stay in Starling, though. I vote Sin and I'm not sure why.
ReplyDeleteif I had to guess, it'd be between Sara and laurel, with Sara the most likely candidate as I think the long term plan is for Laurel to take over the mantle of Black Canary... it there's a 3rd choice, I'd think Sin. You gotta figure that Slade will be the overall nemesis for Oliver thoroughout the series, ala Lex Luthor, and wont be dying anytime soon
ReplyDeleteI adore Sara, but a big part of what makes the character work is the ability of the actress to make all the fighting look convincingly. Plus, she mostly acts with the body (meaning she expresses emotions more through subtle shifts in her stance) and for a wheel chair role you would need one who ideally expresses a lot with the eyes (Thea) or at least has a very expressive face (Felicity).
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if the writers will stick to the original plan, considering that Sara is way more popular than Laurel. In any case though, they all might survive this time around just because we all expect someone to die.
Or they both become crime fighter and split from Team Arrow at one point.
ReplyDeleteI wish laurel
ReplyDeleteReally..people want Sin dead as much as Laurel? I must be watching a different show (probably one where that totally cute hugging scene between Sara & Sin did not occur). Laurel is pretty much the only negative with regards to Arrow. I still wish the writers had killed off Laurel instead of Tommy in the S1 finale...Tommy was infinitely more interesting & fun!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I recall Nikita did something similar last season.
ReplyDeleteIsland experience won't end this season. Creatives has said repeatedly they have 5 seasons worth of island story to tell one season for each year Oliver was away from Starling. Slade and Sara could still be dead by the end of this season.
ReplyDeletePlus I think Sara will be the lead in for season 3 with the League of Assassins. Next year she could be training Laurel and die in the season finale.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, while not a comic reader I don't see how Laurel shares anything with her comic counterpart beyond the name. So unless name accuracy is everything, she isn't the "rightful" Canary any more than Sara is.
ReplyDeleteThey will only kill one Lance this season if they do. If Quentin dies this season then Sara will have extended life for one or two more seasons during which they will slowly make Laurel a part of Team Arrow. Now if Sara is the one who dies then Quentin will be safe for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get past my irritation with Sara and Sara/Oliver.
Sara it has to be her
ReplyDeleteI voted for Quentin because he's not part of the comic book culture, but I would miss him very much if it were to be him. Same with Moira.
ReplyDeleteTommy was a regular, and RIP Tommy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything you've said, especially that "This show should be about Arrow and Oliver mainly" and what you said about Sara.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know Tommy was a regular.
ReplyDeleteI hope Sara doesn't die.
ReplyDeleteAnd yea, I know Sara's death could mean Laurel being BC.
ReplyDeleteI also think that some event will occur in the next episodes that will have Sara distance herself from the team.
ReplyDeleteI am more excited about the possibility that al Ghul is coming to Starling city, according to an interview with Manu Bennett. I am thinking we could also expect reappearance from Nyssa in the present
That Lance family dinner really left a bad aftertaste in my mouth.
I'm sure that Slade didn't die this season. I put on Quentin.
ReplyDeleteSara what?
ReplyDeleteolicity fans are voting on this poll
[Laurel: Very, very unlikely to impossible. She's the romantic lead and heroine of the show. Her destiny is to become Black Canary and go off into the sunset with Oliver.]
ReplyDeleteHave you been watching the show lately?, because this is so outdated.
ReplyDeleteAs I told someone else, the poll asks who you THINK will die, not who you WISH will. Of course, sometimes these two get mixed up. Still, a lot of people who voted for Sara probably don't actually want her dead, but have a feeling it will happen. I know that's true for me (voted for Sara and Moira even though I'd like both to live).
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the show. Every episode. I have been watching a show that has set up long term plots and character developments.
ReplyDeleteA show that is produced by a second tier network that needs to develop new shows for next season (which every network does) and is known to hold on to moderately successful shows longer than others in the TV industry would expect.
Those 11 people who voted for Felicity are idiots.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Slade.
ReplyDeleteThose 11 people who voted for Felicity were just jealous.
Tommy should come back. At least in flasbacks...
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware of this. But come to think of it, we saw the wreck of the freighter in the bay when Oliver was rescued. So neither Slade nor Sarah got away on that ship, which means there could be more island story to come involving them.
ReplyDeleteActually Oliver said on the show he saw Sara die on the island and he said the last person with mirakuru on the island was burned by him. He thought both of them dead. He wouldn't think that if they left. Everything is still so vague.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's not Slade.
ReplyDeleteThe show respects the mythology, but it also plays with it. It looks like if they ever add Speedy into the mix, her name will be Thea Dreadon Queen instead of Mia Dreadon, for example. Roy Harper apparently has no Native American roots.
ReplyDeleteNothing is set in stone, and there has been a notable shift in writing AND advertising.
Who says that HIVE won't play out in this season? At least the part with him finding out who is truly responsible for the dead of his brother.
ReplyDeleteI am not a comic book reader but from what I read on internet HIVE has a huge tie in with Deathstroke.
ReplyDeleteI believe It wont be Diggle because the character has been added to the Green Arrow mythology in the comics, very recently, they wouldn't do that, and he's the brigde to ARGUS.
ReplyDeleteI said a lot of things, but I forgot to ask, is confirmed that someone is going to die in the end of this season, or we're just speculating?
ReplyDeleteRecently was shown that his mother was still alive when he returned from the island, and if I remember correctly she died of cancer. But her death could work, but I think that in this season is too soon.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that caused a lot of fuss back then, lol.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, they deconstructed her so much, and having her sister being Black Canary worked so well and was so well accepted by basically everybody that I guess she lost her place.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about Sara becoming a way better Black Canary than Laure, maybe killing Laurel would be the reason that she and Oliver would break up, leaving the way opened to Felicity. Slade won't die, since he's a huge villain in the comics. His death could be a fake one. Diggle is safe, since he became so popular that he was added in the comic as Arrow's partner.
ReplyDeleteAt this point it's just speculation, but I bet they'll say something about a big character death before the finale. At this point, shows are so determined to create hype that they usually tease the important character deaths beforehand, which is a shame because if they kept a lid on them they'd obviously be more shocking and hit harder.
ReplyDeleteYou're kidding, right? It's only S2 and it's not even the end of S2. Laurel and Ollie has so many more chapter they are the on-off pairing of this show. Historical M is correct Katie is this show's female lead. Smallville is actually an excellent example when it comes this show and it's not wise to bank of a guest star (Caity's Sara) or regular that not the lead (Emily's Felicity)
ReplyDeleteIn order of most probable IMO
ReplyDelete1- Laurel
2- Moira
3- Sin
4- Slade
5- Sara
6- Multiple names off this list
7- None
The rest are not going anywhere.
