A&E is pulling Chloe Sevigny drama Those Who Kill from the schedule.
The freshman detective drama based on the Danish format and inspired by Elsebeth Egholm's books will be pulled from the schedule effective immediately, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. A&E will move sophomore drama Bates Motel back an hour, to the 10 p.m. slot, to replace Those Who Kill. A new time slot for the latter is to be determined later this week, as the network likes the show and has faith that it can find an audience. A Bates Motel repeat will air at 9 p.m. and lead into a new episode of the Psycho prequel.

That's odd. Why has it been pulled from schedule?
ReplyDeleteNooooo, why couldn't they just leave Bates Motel at 9 p.m?! I already have 3 other shows at 10! Ugh.
ReplyDeleteIt was due to really low ratings! But I'm shocked it got pulled after only 3 episodes. It's too bad for the cast and crew.
ReplyDeleteBecause the second episode averaged 830,000 viewers out of 2.21 million viewers for Bates Motel.
ReplyDeleteI hope the time slot change won't harm 'Bates Motel' audience.
ReplyDeleteand I thought only the big broadcast networks pull shows after 3 eps...
ReplyDeletetold you... Some Crime drama based on a Foreign series starting a female lead on cable tv and not on life, yea what do you expect...
ReplyDeleteWell, that was fast.
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't. It aired last year at 10 and did fine.
ReplyDeleteAccording to deadline, A&E plans to 'relaunch' the series at a later, as yet undetermined, date.
ReplyDeleteDamn, not every day you see a cable network do this.
ReplyDeleteI've given A&E plenty of crap in the past for not sticking with their scripted shows but with ratings like that (less than 900k viewers) I can't blame 'em this time around.
ReplyDeleteTrue. I wonder if they'll actually relaunch it. If so maybe try a different marketing approach.
ReplyDeleteI don't have much faith in A&E as a network anymore so I'll believe they're relaunching it when I see it.
ReplyDeleteTwo episodes!
ReplyDeleteI liked that show, will leave it on my Hopper so will record if they bring it back. DANG.
ReplyDeleteI only made it through 20mins of ep 1: really putrid acting, and Sevigny's hairdo was almost as disturbing as the spiders in the serie's intro scene!
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, adaptations of GREAT foreign series just don't work! Especially if they air when the original programming is fresh in people's minds.
I find it absurd that A&E's tag line is "Be Original" when they clearly weren't with this one!
Oh so Bates Motel is now on at 10? Grrr. It was nice being able to watch it and then go watch the blacklist. Now I'm gonna have to chose one to watch live!
