Fresh off its bloody and deadly season finale, AMC's The Walking Dead has promoted three for its fifth run.
Alanna Masterson (Tara), Christian Serratos (Rosita) and new arrival Andrew J. West (Gareth) have been upped to series regulars for season five of the zombie drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Good, I like Tara! And I knew Michael Cudlitz was a regular this season, thus why I was confused about his inclusion in that poll today.
ReplyDeleteGareth being a series regular doesn't bode well with them getting out of Terminus within the first couple episodes, hopefully by the end of the midseason. Glad Tara was promoted though.
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteAlready looking forward to next season.
MTE. It sounds like they'll probably be there for most of the season.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Tara will be come the badass version of Andrea from the comics.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we will have a couple of episodes with just Carol and Tyrese or just Beth and whoever kidnapped her, much like the episodes that concentrated on the separate groups at the end of this year.
ReplyDeleteThat could take up a couple episodes in the beginning of Season 5 and maybe a re-introduction to Terminus with Carol and Tyrese arriving...
What about Sergent Abraham Ford and Eugène ?
ReplyDeleteIf Christian Serratos will be regular, they will probably be it too, aren't they ?
They had already been upped to regulars :)
ReplyDeleteYes i love tara.
ReplyDeleteThat could be. Maybe the first episode back is focusing on our group in lockup at Terminus, then Beth episode with whoever took her (I'm thinking the priest Gabriel from the comics), then Carol/Tyreese showing up episode. Just seems weird to have them stuck at Terminus for 8 episodes, even with it.
ReplyDeleteIt does to me too...
ReplyDeleteMaybe they will escape before the mid-season finale, but then need to return?
Escape in the first few episodes and then return to exterminate the Termites?
Maybe only some of the group escape and the rest have to return to rescue them?
I don't think that Terminus will exist for more than 3 episodes. I guess Gareth maybe will hunt Rick's group on their way to Washington (were Beth and her spoon probably already are waiting).
ReplyDeleteOh thanks, I did not know it :)
ReplyDeleteSpoooon!!!
ReplyDelete(Sorry, a little 'The Tick' humor)
Could be!
I just think Terminus is too cool a concept and set to lose after a few episodes.
I assumed they would do a mid-season split again with the first half being centered on Terminus and then the second half moving off to DC or wherever. I could be wrong though and I have not read the comics so I do not know what elements from the comics around this time will play into the TV series.
I'm more than happy with all these newbies being upgraded, but it definitely bloats the cast slightly and I can see a couple of others dying in the first couple of season 5 episodes...
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear about Tara being a regular. I like her. I don't mind Rosita, so I'm ok with her being a regular as well.
ReplyDeleteWhich one was Gareth? Was he the one that spoke after Rick and Co. got caught sneaking into the warehouse?
Clearly the writers learned nothing and Gareth will be the Gov all over again. I want them out of Terminus.. its boring there is only so much they can do with the story.
ReplyDeleteYeah and he guided Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Carl into the boxcar.
ReplyDeleteThey said Gareth will not be the main villian of Season 5 but you can't really trust what they say haha.
ReplyDeleteDavid Morrissey was promoted to a regular for Season 4 and he was only in 4 eps so they could get out of Terminus quickly.
we just had one episode of Terminus and I already have enough of this place...and now this guy is regular!? It means we are gonna stay for longer there, hope not long enough to make one of the characters land on the plate. Or maybe this guy is gonna be in no more than 3 episodes and go for a walk with Carol and Tyreese. Lets hope so.
ReplyDeleteI must be in the minority then, but I absolutely loved Terminus. The set buildings and their architecture were incredible and the perfect backdrop for a creepy "sanctuary" in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI like it much better than either the prison or Woodbury personally and want to see more of it.
No doubt Gareth is the next big bad - boo, I was hoping they killed him off in the first five minutes of the first episode! Glad to have Masterson and Serratos upped!
ReplyDeleteCrazy theory, maybe Gareth is actually a good guy. You know sometimes when leaders act through somebody else? Like Padme being the queen on Naboo in phantom menace hiding through her friend who gets blown up in attack of the clones.
ReplyDeletewow, didn't think about it before, but now that you mention it, I'd be so freaking okay with that. I wasn't expecting to grow to like her, but I have (plus the actress is cute)
ReplyDeleteSo that means this Garret guy will be in more than 5 episodes so after they go out of Terminus he will come with the group....
ReplyDeleteI would like if Lennie James also becomes a series regular.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll be a recurring villain, like the Governor? He'll escape the wrath of TWD family and keep coming back, like a cockroach!
