I would be. Someone needs to die - but it can't be Rick. To be fair, the splitting up and subsequent road to Terminus means that Rick is no longer leader. He is just as expendable as any other character. Hell, he hasn't been in it since 4.11.
The show's never had a problem with Chandler growing up, so i don't think they will now. I understand that it's more noticeable, but i don't think they would do that.
I don't really get why some people think that one of Michonne/Rick/Carl would die that season. I guess they will meet up with Tyreese and Carol before they arrive and I guess it is Carol who is going to die.
Robert Kirkman doesn't have that say on the show. It's AMC's property and it's their call. Kirkman can do what he wants with the GN, but not with the show. Biggest mistake everyone makes is assuming that b/c he writes the GN that he calls the shots on the show and that's not correct at all. They have to get clearance from the general arc all the way down to the final edit from AMC.
For a man, who was really involved in Season 2 and 3 and had a role of approving main changes over the series plot-lines, I don't see how AMC would just screw Robert over and then go on to do whatever. Now, I do understand he has more control over his comic book than this series, which he has stated in various interviews, but having the title of executive producer and writer has to mean something in having a say in what happens, especially when it involves killing the main character. He was one of the guys, who ousted the show-runner from previous season, cause he thought he didn't provided anything during the second half of that season and I think Robert was "heavily" involved in bringing Scott Gimple, the current showrunner, who has stated of that he wants to and did, make season 4 more comic plot-line orientated.
It'll probably be Carl. Chandler Riggs is growing up fast and the events of the show are only some months or so apart.
If it is Rick, I wouldn't be surprised, actually. They're have been subtle hints throughout the season. Most telling is his ineffectual handling of crisis after crisis at the prison, which resulted in countless deaths and his eventual emotional shut down. I don't think he really wants to fight and live in such a world. I honestly can't blame him.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
If Rick died I would NEVER be able to get my jaw from off the floor.
ReplyDeleteCan't see them doing it. A lot of people would probably be pissed.

ReplyDeleteRobert Kirkman is not afraid of offing Rick, if he wants too. But I don't think he'll do it just yet.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Carl doesen't make it.
ReplyDeleteHe's not a kid anymore so I don't feel THAT bad about wanting him dead.
If they kill Michonne i will be extremely annoyed as the show has killed of all my favorites so far (Dale , Hershel and Merle)
ReplyDeleteCarl is the only character who will make it surely until season 15. I never was more happy about that than now.

ReplyDeleteRick's the leader. They're just split up but he is was and will always be leader.
