Damon Salvatore is grabbing his bomber jacket and heading back to the 1960s.
In the April 24 episode "Man of Fire," The Vampire Diaries will flash back to the decade right after Damon (Ian Somerhalder) escaped from the Augustine cell. Could this scene also include Maggie, played by Heather Hemmens, who makes her debut appearance in that episode? As Enzo (Michael Malarkey) explained in "The Cell," Maggie was Enzo's only companion while he was locked up and she was "the one who got away."
Asked about the important flashback, executive producer Caroline Dries told TVGuide.com: "We get to see Stefan and Damon for one night, but we [also] dig into Enzo's story line too. He becomes the mini 'bad' of the season and we're figuring out his motivation for why he's in town. He's going to make a number of enemies and he won't do himself favors."

I love him. Not his character. Just him.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like as the show goes on they do more and more recent decades. In Season 1 & 2 they really focused on 1864 and soon thereafter. In Season 3 we saw flashbacks to 1912 and the 1920s but in Season 4 we got the 1940s & 1970s. Now in Season 5 we've gotten the 1950s and now the 1960s. I expect to see the 1980s or 1990s next season.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Enzo will be sticking around for a while and will do something other than become a love interest for Caroline (which after the last episode was the direction I was worried they might be heading in).
"Heather" is set to appear in ep 20 as I know at least that was announces. Damon looks dashing. *_*
ReplyDeleteThe more info we get about the last batch of episodes the less optimistic I am that it will be interesting. This little article didn't help any.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I feel the same...
ReplyDeleteKilling Katherine will hurt the rest of the season.
I disagree.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time where that character would elevate the quality of any episode she was in but the writers misused and overused Katherine until she lost all her entertainment value They wrote the character into the ground and killing her off was probably for the best.
I think it's pretty obvious that Damon killed Maggie or slept with her, or both. The thought of that reminds me of how John Gilbert said that he sent Isobel to Damon to get turned. That never seemed quite right. How did John Gilbert, a known vampire hunter, know for sure that Damon wouldn't just kill Isobel? John had to know about the vendetta against Augustine because he knew just about everything that went on in the supernatural world. Maybe something happened between Damon's escape and the beginning of his acts of revenge. He could have become part of something that we're not aware of. Maybe I'm way off, but after something a fan said about spoilers indicating that Markos had a presence in Mystic Falls from the first season, I keep jumping back to unsolved questions in my mind. Enzo is probably peeved because he knows that Damon did something, or might still be doing something, that Enzo really doesn't like.
ReplyDeleteThat was already addressed. Basically, Caroline flirts with everyone, and Enzo likes to rile her up because she's an easy mark.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping too that I would see something interesting here. If nothing else, it's confirmation that Maggie will show up in a flashback and she won't be yet another character to keep track of, not that anyone will really care. This show is getting too much like Heroes with all of the extra characters.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of recurring characters wouldn't be so burdensome if TVD didn't have such a lack of focus. If they had blocked out the season better, if they had a better plan, all of the characters could have fit better. Unfortunately, as it is, they're just haphazardly throwing everyone together and its too chaotic with little to no investment in any of the recurring characters they've introduced.
ReplyDeletewhat about 5x18? no promotional photos? no synopsis? ehh ...
ReplyDeleteOh great another love interest from the past, that'll PROBABLY make her, "I'm not dead, you believed i was dead, but i'm right here," entrance. Hahaha (Please let me be wrong! I'll find out in the episode). So now we're going into more Enzo history. Hmm, guess that means he's sticking around, possibly til season 6. I don't really mind too much, just stay away from Caroline. And Alaric had a helping hand in elevating Damon's growth, (that did exist before season 4, idc what you guys say) sooo stop being the devil on Damon's shoulders, b/c i seriously don't like when he's manipulated. So with that said, Damon is channeling his James Dean. Honestly, i gotta say, Stefan did it better, mostly because he was drunk, and pulled Caroline away from Tyler. LOL And maybe his "Hero hairdo."
