I need to see the extended promo. And I'm hoping Bonnie kills Liv. I didn't like Liv when we first met her. Something was off about her. Then when she flirted with Jeremy in front of Bonnie's face, I REALLY didn't like her. And I don't even like beremy so you can imagine my anger. But NOW...although I'm curious to see what her and Luke's play is...I don't want her sticking around to the middle of sixth season.
Just one Question. What is the overall story this season? With only a few more episodes to go in the season finale, it feeling like a jumble of mini stories that don't really add up to anything.
I dread to think what a mess Season 6 will carry on with. Actually hopeful and glad its the last, then my misplaced loyalty for this show can be over and done with.
"Just one Question. What is the overall story this season?"
Unfortunately, TVD tried the same lame trick this season as they did last season. Very early into the season they introduce the seeds of what would be the season's big threat and then slow-play the storyline until the final block of episodes. The problem with that is while they're slow-playing the main storyline the rest of the season becomes a directionless mess. Last season they started out with the people sacrificed in the explosion leading up to Silas. This season it was Nadia introducing the snooze-worthy travelers.
Also can someone also explain to me how DE are not always about sex?
Loved Elena's sensitivity to Stefan again "I would never lead you on" forgetting the time he had amnesia and she was taking him through memory lane, it beats her classic "I had the perfect summer of love" comment. That poor Stefan look-a-like is so dead. One thing that is certain on TVD apart from the triangle is that Elena must always be saved above all. He happens to be a paramedic, living in Atlanta. How is it he has never been spotted by the gang or from someone who knows Stefan. You cant miss him, they was another one boldly running around all summer.
It looks like Damon's big mouth in the bar will get someone hurt. Why on earth would he brag about his escapades with Elena to Matt and Tyler? That's probably what leads to Jeremy making some kind of deal with Liv. I agree with Shannon. The sooner Liv is gone, the better. Unfortunately, it looks like Penelope Mitchell will stick around at least through Episode 19. I don't know how much truth there was to the claims in articles that Luke would do anything to protect his sister. I'm pretty sure he's going to spill everything to Bonnie. He said himself that she won't be easy-going when she realizes that her friends are in danger. He might try a diplomatic approach. I'm curious about the dynamic between Luke and Liv. They appear to be close, but it looks like they might have different ideas of how to handle the Mystic Falls crowd. What i really don't understand is what exactly caused so much tension between travelers and witches. Something must have set everybody off. Maybe it's the fact that both doppelganger lines are ending. Travelers and witches want doppelganger blood for different reasons.
One other problem I'm having is that two gay characters have popped up on Julie Plec's shows, and they've both been questionable. Josh on The Originals mostly serves the purpose of causing trouble or helping other people do it, and now Luke is being shown as a villain. Why do the gay characters have to be the bad guys? I don't see any progress here.
I get that but when your a vampire the world must be a smaller place. If you think of the people that know Stefan. Klaus and Rebekah and Damon has traveled, Katherine, even Elijah? Someone somewhere must have gotten confused over the two and asked questions. Thanks for the infor though, I live in the UK 😊
Nah. Not necessarily. It's possible that they never were in Atlanta at the time of this doppleganger has been. Maybe he wasn't even born in Atlanta. Even then, Atlanta is a large place. And this doppleganger could have been in any number of places when and if either of them came through. We know Rebekah was in a box up until a couple years ago, and she was in Mystic Falls for most of that time. Then New Orleans. Damon has traveled but there again, goes back to what I said before about he may not have been born there or been around when and if Damon was there. As for Elijah,Klaus, and Katherine? The latter wanted to be hidden. And we know Katherine followed Stefan around(She said this and we were shown this) We are not entirely sure where Klaus was but I'd suspect Atlanta was not where he was. Elijah coming across him seems unlikely too. So I'm not sure why you think the consistency here is bad.
Damon went around killing his family members and judging by how he killed cousin Zack and followed the linage of Aarons family, how did he miss this own? Since Doppelgangers are meant to be either direct or close family line. If its not close but direct, when did good human boy Stefan get a girl pregnant?
Both brothers have lived in the area given or take many years many times, since the show has began they have taken many road trips, they are vampires leaving collateral damage in their wake. New guy is a doppelganger Paramedic. How is it possible no one between them got confused and asked questions? I have more questions that have me thinking inconsistency but to air them only frustrates me.....give me another hour and I'll forget this show exists till next episode LOL
Well, Silas called Stefan and Damon "nephews" so it's not like it has to be direct. A family tree can go a long way in 2000 years. Perhaps Damon had cousins he didn't know about in the Atlanta area or something that led to this new doppleganger. They have traveled but think about how big Atlanta is and literally how many other cities they could have gone.. They would have to be in the right place at the right time and possibly looking in the right direction, and even then they might have to take a double take. How is it likely at all they run in to him? There is half a million people in that city.
Even ignoring all of that, it still wouldn't be inconsistent. In fact, it would be consistent. Since: a) Dopplegangers weren't even known about until season 2. Elena was a mystery to both Stefan and Damon as to why she looked like Katherine. b) Stefan and everyone else didn't know that there were other hims running around. As Silas revealed that fact. Not to mention Katherine nor the Originals noticed any other Stefan look alikes.
What we are presented with: They had no idea another Silas doppleganger was running around. Consistent with the story.
Even from the dopplegangers perspective, most of what the Mystic Falls gang does is limited to Mystic Falls. When it does go in to other states not only are the trips usually short but if there is mayhem, there is usually bodies with no witnesses except the Mystic Falls gang. It's not like the police or citizens have Stefan's description around the country. The general public knows: Animal attacks or serial killer. And etc.
Or the mother could have had sisters or the father brothers...... Still doesn't convince me. What would is an explanation to the new Doppelganger. I've grown use to the show spoon feeding plots when they spring in new connected to the cast characters. But what I imagine will happen is Stefan will want to sacrifice himself for the new guy but being the lead the new guy will die. Either way I don't want the explanation shoved back for another twist. But like I say, in an hour I wont care.
I think Klaus was only ever interested in the Amara doppelganger in order to break the hybrid curse. He wouldn't have had any reason to be looking for a Silas doppelganger.
Nobody ever said Season 6 will be the last one. Sure the contracts are for 6 seasons but for CW Standarts TVD is still very successful.. so there is still a change they make more seasons.
And what does it matter if there is no overall story this season? Buffy Season 6 didn't really have a big bad too and i think it was my favorite season (its just so hard to chose) .. I really enjoy and love this season of TVD .. even if i'm one the few people who do
Do you really see Paul and Ian staying longer than their contract. They both seem very bored and tried with the same pattern their characters take. The more you hear them talk the more you can see they want out. Ian, Paul and Nina have movies coming out this year. The only thing stopping them going full time is the long months on TVD. 6 years in the same role? I don't think they are going for longer. Nina alone is very ambitious so unless they are going with a refresh on a new cast....
No problem! As for my part, I wasn't replying really to the consistency/inconsistency opinion, just wanted to clarify that the show was set in Virginia in case you got confused; since it was filmed in Atlanta, it was all happening in Atlanta hehehe ;)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
The steel guitar playing in the background of the bar segment was a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteI thought so. Added a little comedy to the one liner.

OMG, what a mess. This show was good once, but now everything looks weird and out of place. and yes, boring.
ReplyDeleteAlthough they film in Atlanta, Mystic Fall is set in Virginia!

i like Josh on the Originals, i dont think he's a bad guy, i enjoy his friendship with Davina.
ReplyDeletei totally agree, here's to hoping Liv really is just a" special guest star" and not to stay very long...
ReplyDeleteThat bit of Damon at the end... I don't even know... If I were in a bar and I heard someone say that, I'd burst out laughing. What a douche.
