  1. I'm assuming she tapped Elena in her dorm-room since she's infected with that virus thing? I guess it could be Caroline but I'm not sure why they'd need to trap her.

  2. Blondie is such a liar. I'm sure she's been sandbagging everyone this whole time.

  3. Interesting. Liv seems like a wild spirit and I get the Paige-Billie(charmed) vibe from these 2. only Liv has that mean thing going on. Hopefully Luke is her brother.

  4. By the way...
It makes absolutely no sense that Bonnie can't practice magic.

  5. It does to me. She's technically a ghost and she's the anchor to the Other Side now (and therefore not a witch). It's been established before that you can't be a witch as well as something else supernatural (like when a witch is turned into a vampire they cease to be a witch - which we've seen with Abby Bennett & Rebekah explained to Elena in Season 3 that she wasn't a witch because she was a vampire and you can't be both). There's never been any evidence that's is possible to be both a werewolf and a witch (which would be something that applied to Klaus prior to him becoming a vampire because he should have inherited his mother's magic (as well as her other children) but he's a werewolf so maybe he wouldn't have been able to do magic?).

  6. It's already been established that an anchor has a foothold in both sides of the veil. That being the case, she's not technically a ghost. She's both alive and dead simultaneously. If she's an eating, sleeping, breathing person in the real world then she can practice magic. Dying isn't an excuse either since there are multiple examples of the dead coming back to practice magic. In fact, having a foothold in both places should amplify her ability to draw power and make her magic even more powerful.

As far as the notion of "you can't be a witch as well as something supernatural" I don't see how that would apply here. Her being a bridge is just an ability that was bestowed upon her. Being a werewolf or a vampire is something that physically changes you, changes your DNA. This isn't the same thing.

  7. I agree. There's something about her I really don't like.

  8. I assumed that too, but apparently Elena will get out anyway and run into Luke. Or maybe Luke will let Elena out?

  9. Interesting you should mention this. Klaus, with the assistance of witches, was able to put himself into human bodies all the time, and he was probably able to practice magic when he was in someone else's body. It's possible that he was a traveler of sorts. I sort of wonder if Elena is technically a traveler since she was put in someone else's body (Katherine's) and then back into her own. I hope that gets addressed. While someone can't be a witch and another supernatural being, it seems to be possible to be a traveler as well as something else, if a witch or traveler happen to be nearby to use the passenger spell. For that matter, I have to wonder whether or not Matt actually left his body when Gregor used the passenger spell on him. If that's the case, then wouldn't Matt be able to practice magic because he's human, or would he have to be in someone else's body? I don't see how the passenger spell doesn't go both ways if it's completed like it was with Elena. Of course Elena can't be a vampire and practice magic, but her spirit was mobile, and a dagger gave her the ability to return to her body despite being sealed up in a corpse. Maybe being a traveler is irrelevant if you're a vampire and can't practice magic, or maybe it means something. I hope that virus gets cleared up fast so we can see more about the traveler mythology. I'm sick of Augustine at this point.

  10. I keep wondering what Liv's endgame is. She's supposed to provoke Jeremy into hurting Elena somehow, after demonstrating her power in front of Jeremy. Liv is either too big for her britches and in over her head, or she's pretending to be a novice witch so that she can mess with certain people's lives. I can't wait to see Luke. Finally, someone new. Maybe the writers will get up the nerve to have Tyler leave town or something.

  11. The ghosts of Lexi, Alaric & Jeremy were able to eat/drink while the veil was down but they were still ghosts - so I think that Bonnie is technically just a ghost that can interact with the physical world (the same as the ghosts in the episode Ghost World were able to).

  12. Bonnie put Klaus' spirit into Tyler and Bonnie put him back. Maddox put Klaus' spirit into Alaric and he and Greta put him back in his own body.

Esther was able to take over Rebekah's body herself because she is a witch. Klaus probably knows the spell to do it (just like he knows the spell to make day-walking jewelry but it's not like he can do it himself) - but he can't practice magic so he needs a witch to do the spell for him. We've also seen Elijah hand over written spells - if he could do it himself or if Klaus could have done it they wouldn't have needed to use Davina to unlink Sophie & Hayley - they would have been able to do it themselves.

  13. HA! Ok Bonnie, i see you.

  14. You said it yourself. The veil was dropped. The veil is now back in place.

  15. I don't think travelers are witches, though. There's supposed to be some kind of conflict going on between those two factions. The coming "wake-up call" is a result of TVD characters referring to travelers as witches, or thinking of them as a type of witch. Travelers can use magic, but I'm pretty sure they use a different kind of magic. Bonnie died while using Expression, which her traveler ancestor Qetsiyah practiced, and that was about getting power from your own life force. Before her power was taken away for doing too many resurrections, Bonnie got power from the Bennett spirits and didn't have to resort to Expression. Obviously a witch powerful enough can practice traveler magic, but I think travelers themselves are people who left their bodies just so that they could practice magic, or maybe they somehow developed on their own the ability to practice Expression or something similar to it. Witches, Abby Bennett in particular, see danger in traveler magic because it might corrupt the mind, and there's also the fact that travelers don't have to answer to spirits. The only way to remove a traveler's power is to kill them, and the only way to do that is with a traveler's dagger.

On the subject of Liv, she might not have been able to do the spell that Bonnie laid out for her because it was an Expression spell, and Liv is a witch. Liv also had a hard time when Bonnie told her to use her own life force for the locator spell to find Jeremy. It's possible that Liv figured out, or maybe knew all along, that she had to ask spirits to help her find Jeremy so the vampires that were threatening Liv would go away. She might have located Wes by somehow very covertly asking spirits for help, or maybe spirits somehow recognized that a witch was in danger and gave Liv the power to do the spell. Liv probably could have turned the salt into fire, but why would it be necessary to indulge Bonnie by pretending to use traveler magic? I think I just found the reason behind Liv trying to steal Jeremy from Bonnie. If there's tension between travelers and witches, Bonnie might be considered a traveler who was removed from power after yet another resurrection, and Liv might see Bonnie as her enemy simply because of Bonnie's decisions. The fact that Bonnie consorts with vampires won't make her any friends among travelers or witches.

  16. But Bonnie gets to be on both sides now because her status as the anchor - so she's still a ghost but she's the only one that gets to interact with both sides.

  17. The ability to interact with both sides doesn't make you a ghost. If that were true Jeremy would be a dead guy.
