The Mentalist - Episode 6.14 - Grey Water - Review

NOTE: Be advised that English is not my first language

After last episode, The Mentalist keeps its run to find who's behind Ardiles and LaRoche's murders. I quite enjoyed the episode, and I liked the old Patrick Jane tricks on the line, but still I think there was something missing.
The first scene at the Rigsby's house scared me. I liked seeing those two together as a family with Maddie, but I freaked out when Rigsby was attacked and then forced to hide with his daughter in the kitchen room. Then mommy Grace appears and save the day; she shoots the dark figure but she fails killing him; the final hug with the three of them was asbolutely a relief that reminds me the Holy Family. So just like Joseph and Mary, Rigsby and Van Pelt escape from their house and from the man who wants to kill them and their daughter.
The reunion scene at the FBI building was one of my favorite scene of the episode. Lisbon looks like the lovely mom who misses her kids and hugs them when she sees them. Jane seems cold with his ex collegues, but then he turns to be the old Jane: I liked the part when he teases them and tells to trust their instict to find their possible suspects on the list. They all make reasonable choices; Lisbon choses Haibach and Wagner - ironic, I thought she would have put her money on Tommy Volker. Remember Lisbon had issues with Haibach back in season 4 and earlier this season. Interisting choices putting two psycopaths on the list.

Jane can't be around his friends a little more because Fischer needs him on the field; there is a murder case, and the victim was found dead in one of his oil company's sites. I had the strange feeling that Jane was more interested in the case than helping his friends. He spends much time on the field, is he trying to avoid them because that list reminds him about Red John? Speaking of which, Lisbon mentions the serial killer for the first time after episode 6.08. I wanted to see more Wiley, and I got satisfied. Everyone at the FBI trust his computer skills, including Jane, but he can't refuse some advices from the queen hacker, Grace Van Pelt. That scene was adorable: it's like watching two generations gap.

When I saw the old Rigsby\Cho interactions it made me sad because I realized how much I missed those two. Even if Cho may have found in Wiley a good substitite for his old pal, no one can't be compared to Rigsby - did anyone notice he hadn't eat a sandwich in this episode? Rigsby and food will always be the best part of his character.
On the other hand, Jane and Lisbon didn't have much time on screen and I know many fans complained about that. I guess she's trying to be accostumed to her new job at the FBI, and this means no more Jane around her. She needs to find her space and her time without Jane, because she's been spending one decade with him. Also she may be afraid of his sudden interest on her after "The Golden Hammer"? That would explain her refuse to go on a trip to Mexico with him in "Black Helicopters"? Those are just my opinion, we'll see soon what the future holds for Jane and Lisbon.

Dennis Abbott went from the bad cop to the right man. During The Mentalist 2.0, he learned to trust Lisbon and her skills, he knows she's good at her job. When Lisbon and Haibach have that face to face convo, Abbott understands she has her right to suspect him; when it comes to the people she loves, Lisbon would do everything in her power to make justice. Later, Abbott agrees on putting a surveillance on Haibach - soon, Cho and Rigsby will find out he made the right decision, because Haibach eluded his special surveillance and had his way free... maybe to Van Pelt? Is he the man who killed Ardiles and LaRoche? Just when Rigsby thinks everything's okay because his wife is safe at home, he couldn't be more wrong. VP is sleeping in her bed, then a dark figure comes from the behind, ready to kidnap her...

Who do you think is killing former CBI agents? Will Grace be safe and the Rigsby family happy ever after? Share your comments below.
