At the end of teen wolfs season 3 final, Kate Argent (played by Jill Wagner) appeared as an unknown supernatural creature. It appears she's leaked what that creature is on twitter (a Were Jaguar). They are also known in Mexican folklore as 'Balam'.

That's pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteOooh, very cool!
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness!
ReplyDeletesomething like that was on True Blood, interesting
ReplyDeleteI assume you're talking about Crystal in seasons 3 and 4? She was actually a werepanther but I see what you're saying.
ReplyDeleteI knew it. She looked just like the Balam from Grimm.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I remember the female Balam from the La Llorona episode!
ReplyDeleteWhere did she go?
ReplyDeleteWell when Jason killed Felton in season 4, Crystal became the leader of the pack and asked Jason to run away with her. He said no and said he never wanted to see her again because she was crazy. Then she just left.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long, I totally forgot.
ReplyDeleteWhile I would rather Kate Argent simply be a figment of Derek's imagination, I do like the idea of different werecreatures. Especially a werejaguar.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I try not to remember the werepanther family. They were so uninteresting and boring to me.
ReplyDeleteso she was "scratched" by an alpha werewolf and changed into jaguar? Just like werecoyote was born from human mother and werewolf...they really need to make their mythology more clear. I still dont know why colton haynes character changed into kanima...after being bitten by werewolf
ReplyDeleteAhh yes. Jason. The character so dumb he thought he could become a were panther by being bitten in that mythology.
ReplyDeleteHe was changed into a Kanima instead of a werewolf because his emotional issues caused his body to reject Derek's bite.
ReplyDeleteand by scratched you mean the claws went so deep they ripped out her throat
ReplyDeleteSo interesting how it's gone from Kitsune mythology, now to Mexican mythology, I learn so much from this show, and it's so awesome to watch!
ReplyDeletethe were jaguar was in the books, not the show. I'm still waiting on him to show up.
ReplyDeleteNow you have me trying to remember if Jason changed in the book.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd be okay if it were anyone other than Kate Argent. I am not sure they'll be able to get me to buy a character coming back from the grave having been turned in another country.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the were-tiger Quinn from the book series!
ReplyDeleteI quit watching True Blood, but if they brought Quinn on I would have watched!
he did but it wasn't a full shift, if I remember correctly
ReplyDeleteThe Kanima thing I get.
ReplyDeleteBased on that I for now am going to assume Peoples characters determines what Werecreature they will be.
But basically they need to Get their Mythology Clear. And also the Power Balance.
hated her character the first time around and now they are bringing back what looks to be an even more obnoxious super-powered version of her, oh yay.
ReplyDeleteQuinn! Yes! That's who I was referring to. Ignore my jaguar comment. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is the thought I'm trying to keep down. Well, I never hated the character had occasionally issues with the performance but never hated the character. But the potential of this becoming " obnoxious super-powered version of" Kate has me working to keep an open mind.
ReplyDeleteNot really crazy about this, just as I wasn't really crazy about the way 3B played out. I think they missed a golden opportunity to develop the mythology of Beacon Hills in more depth, this past season. In one episode Derek said that his mother had told him that the Hale family had, in the past, served as protectors of the people of Beacon Hills. Then... nothing more on this subject, for the whole rest of the season. I was hoping to learn more of the past dramas that had played out among the previous generations of the families of Beacon Hills...both human and supernatural. I.e., I wanted a little more more world-building, not just some random exotic creatures being inserted sideways into the show from time to time...or ominous hints about some supposedly "deep, dark" surrounding Scott's Dad that turn out to be the banal fact that he had once accidently shoved Scott down the stairs, while he was drunk.
