As commissioned by its Canadian producers, the cop drama’s next edition will deliver 22 episodes instead of its usual 13, TVLine has confirmed. However, fans in the United States will have to wait an indeterminate amount of time for the conclusion of Season 5, since ABC plans to air only the first 11 installments this summer.
There are no details yet on when the rest of the Season 5 — which as just announced bows Thursday, July 17 at 10/9c – will be broadcast.

Nope nope nope nope. I'll watch a live stream of the Global feed or find it the next morning, but I'm not waiting until ABC can be bothered to find time for it. That's just stupid
ReplyDeletethank goodness i live in canada, finally a tv advantage lol
ReplyDeleteNo! :(
ReplyDeleteDo you live in Canada or the US?
ReplyDeleteI hope they don't split it over a year like half this summer and the rest summer 2015.
ReplyDeleteCanada's doing the same thing so you're out of luck.
ReplyDeleteNope, sorry. Canada's doing the same thing!
ReplyDeleteUgh at waiting for the conclusion of season five!
ReplyDeleteWell, the could have moved it to Thursdays at 8 in the fall schedule and solved the death slot problem.
ReplyDeleteThat makes no sense to me, why commission a 22 episode season but air it as if it's two separate seasons?! And July?!!! Really! I thought waiting until May was bad enough :(
ReplyDeleteThis falls in line with my prediction that the second half of the season will be used to fill-in for Grey's Anatomy during its winter hiatus.
ReplyDeleteThat's annoying, they could of just renewed it for season 6 for next summer.
ReplyDeleteI hope we don't have to wait for next summer for the rest
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Global/ABC will be doing the same thing that CTV did with Saving Hope last year? They aired the first 9 episodes last summer and started airing the last 9 in January. I didn't really like the season split up like that.
ReplyDeleteTax reasons, maybe?
ReplyDeleteThere's literally *no* difference.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to the Canadians, but I'm so happy about that.
ReplyDeleteIt's taxing on my happiness that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI suppose how they split it up will hinge on whether or not it's renewed for a 6th season. If it is, then they'll have to show the second half of season 5 before the following summer. If it's not, then they could easily split the episodes between two summers, which would suck, since it would reduce it to 11-episodes per summer instead of 13.
ReplyDeleteI don't really mind them breaking it up.The SyFy channel did that with most of their shows,i.e. Stargate SG1,Atlantis, Farscape, Bab5. It was better than having to wait a full ten or eleven months before the next season started.
ReplyDeleteoohhh booooo hahaha well it was wishful thinking lol
ReplyDeleteThis practice of splitting seasons has to be one of the worst to emerge in modern television. Why even call it all Season 5? Surely it's 5, then 6. Just another tactic to whip the audience up into a feeding frenzy I suppose.
