  1. Really Mary? You're blaming only Lola? Last I checked it take two to tango...

  2. Yes,but Francis did it because he thought that he would never see Mary anymore..Lola on the other hand..

  3. Mary's woried about lying to Francis, when he is the biggest liar a French court, please and then her blaming Lola, regardless of if Francis thought he'd never see her again, Lola would not be any less pregnant because if her new husband. Must be so easy to blame someone else for mistakes, she knows, her husband is capable of

  4. I'm sure Mary meant Lola needs to get married but the first thought her words provoked in me was that Lola already tried to fix it and Mary stopped her... I love irony lol.

Seems like the king's caught the bloodlust. I'm thinking he'll die at the end of the season in a 'hunting accident' like Tomas...and the Francis and Mary will be the king and queen of France for season 2. Kinda hope it either ends after that or gives history the bird so Francis doesn't die and Mary doesn't end up back in Scotland.

  5. Lola also thought that Francis would never see Mary again.I'm not saying what they did was right, but you certainly can't blame only one of them.

  6. Somehow, I see Bash trying to rescue Lola from this situation and also to help Mary be happy. Hate that Lola is pregnant though.

  7. on the other hand, Lola was one of Mary's best friends who knew that Mary still loved Francis and even though they were not together any more, any decent friend would not go and sleep with her best friends ex-fiance only a month of them breaking up! I think it was around a month? Francis had no obligation to Mary at that time and he was lonely, but he should have taken a second thought to sleeping with one of Mary's best friends though. Both of them didn't think past that morning and the re-precautions of their actions. I feel sorry for Lola about the position she has found her self in but again, that's her fault because of her choices.

  8. Lola has to take responsibility for her actions and not put Mary in the middle of all this, in asking her to lie to Francis.

  9. You know what's so great about your comments? Not the actual comments themselves, but the fact that it gives me a good idea of the number of Francis haters and Mash shippers on this website.

I like opinions, I think they're awesome, but you've become totally predictable. Put Francis in a promo or a picture and you're there to talk about how horrible he is. It doesn't matter what he's doing. He could just be standing there and you would find a way to make him seem like a dirtbag.

It could be a picture of Francis giving Mary a flower and you would call him an asshole for giving her something that might have thorns on it. It could be a promo showing Francis saving someone's life, and you'll make him out to be a horrible human being because he didn't save more. Hell, I'm pretty sure he could pet a kitten and you would find a way to make him seem like a horrible human being.

  10. Yes,yes and yes! I agree with everything you wrote.

  11. Mary dear, nothing can destroy your marriage. It was made for purposes of state. Beside, there was no such thing as divorce in France back then.

    ReplyDelete
  12. While, true, it's wrong on both accords and I wish Francis would tell Mary about it. But, Francis had no obligations to Mary nor did he owe her anything at that point. Mary basically took his life away, and hello, started a relationship with his brother. So, I really can't blame Francis. Lola on the other hand knew she had to go back to court and look at Mary every single day knowing she slept with the man that Mary still loved. Lola had obligations to Mary, while at the time Francis did not.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I don't think she meant divorce. I think she meant the secrets and lies could put her marriage in a position similar to Henry and Catherine's.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I agree. I think Bash will wed Lola for some reason. I know one of the lady's is suppose to get married this season.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well following your logic, none of them should be held accountable because Lola thought Mary was going to marry Bash and, no matter what the reason was, she deliberately broke Francis heart, so...

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thank you! That's exactly what's been bothering. All Frary fans have been desperately tryng to justify Francis actions while blaming Lola, when in reality you either hold both accountable or none, because the same excuses that apply to Francis apply to Lola.

    ReplyDelete
  17. As I already said on another post one cannot be blamed whithout the other. On one hand they both thought Mary was going to marry Bash, which would excuse their actions, and on the other hand, yes Lola knew Mary still loved Francis, but let's not forget Francis knew the truth behing Mary's action too, even if he didn't believe them, and he had to know it was wrong sleeping with one of his ex-fiance best friends.
I just wish he would've come clean to her when he came back. As a matter of fact I just wish we could go back to before the Olivia episode, I so loved him before he told Mary he had the right to take a mistress! that's when I lost respect for him and stopped shipping on this show...

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree that Lola is responsable for her actions, but, wether you choose to excuse Francis for what he did or not, doesn't change the fact that Lola didn't get to where she is on her own. He should be held responsable for her current condition too.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, I agree. Bash is always trying to do the right thing.

    ReplyDelete
  20. LOL, you're so right. The fact that they fell in love is completely irrelevant, but it sure makes for some nice drama.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well,if Francis himself had no obligations to Mary then Lola certainly didn't have any regarding Francis. They both thought that everything between Mary and Francis was over.I agree, they didn't think past their actions that day and I definitely don't think Francis is the bad guy here.I just wholeheartedly believe that you cannot blame one without blaming the other. They were both lonely, for different reasons. And if you go with the logic, why didn't Lola,as her friend, think of Mary, then we should also ask why didn't Francis think that Lola is one of the best friends of the woman he loved. The answer is that they both thought that it would never come out. They were obviously wrong and they are both to blame for the situation they're in.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ITA. You don't need to justify a character's every action just because you like them. It's alright for them to make mistakes and be wrong, it's what makes relatable. What also makes them relatable, is strugling and facing said mistakes. I don't hate Francis, I just stoped liking him, but what brings me closer to the hate line, is people throwing all sense out the window just to jutify his actions.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, Mary is already in the middle and would be regardless of who the baby mamma was since her husband is the baby daddy, but, yes Lola shouldn't be asking that of her.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am definitely not just blaming Lola. They are both to blame, though again Mary and Francis weren't together at the time, no one thought them to ever get back together, but Mary and Lola were still best friends. They both did wrong, no doubt, but I can see where to Mary, it feels more like a betrayal coming from Lola.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Not excusing Francis one bit. He needs to take responsibility for Lola's condition just as much as Lola needs to accept hers. And you're right they both made the mistake. It just feels as more as a betrayal coming from Lola's side of things. I guess its from the person you would least expect it. Mary would have known/expected that Francis would have slept around after they broke up, its just a shock to her that is was with one of her ladies. They both need a good guilt trip from Mary, though with his sleeping with Lola and not telling her and now Mary not telling him about Lola being pregnant its just one big mess! Lol. No way to start a marriage! Can't wait to see how they work it out.

    ReplyDelete
  26. She will be involved not matter what, she will play a step-mother type role in the childs life, she can't evade that, she had to accept that. I meant Lola not putting Mary in the middle of covering for her, asking her to lie to her husband and keep stuff this important from him so that she has time to figure out what to do. She's putting Mary in a tough situation.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, after and during the Olivia mess you could see that Francis believed he could do anything he wished, with taking another lover and having to answer to no one, not even his future wife, very much like his father's views. And I also would have wished he'd have come clean to Mary about him and Lola, but then again he was probably expecting that it would ever come to light. And probably wouldn't have if Lola hadn't gotten pregnant. I had hoped him being away from the court would have changed him for the better.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Umm, maybe you didn't read or understand my post. But clearly, my first sentence said they are both wrong and that he should have told her. And just because you can blame him, doesn't mean I have to, so stop right there.
Mary marrying Bash does not excuse Lola's part in it because again, Lola was still friends with Mary and she is Mary's lady. If neither of these were facts, then Mary would have no right to be mad at Lola nor Francis.
But see, Francis knew why they couldn't be wed, but at the same time there are feelings involved on both Bash and Mary's end, it's not like Francis never saw them kissing or anything. So, don't act like the situations are even remotely the same. Mary was about to marry Francis' BROTHER, his brother, so at that point where Francis stuck it was none of Mary's business.
But I think everyone can agree on the fact that once he and Mary got back together, he should have told her the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Don't pretend like the people who stan for Bash don't do the regarding Francis. As a matter of a fact, I have grown increasingly annoyed with Bash more so because of his stans.

    ReplyDelete
  30. No character is perfect. Of course if you are a fan of a character, you try and give them the benefit of the doubt when they do something wrong. Until it gets ridiculous of course. You want the character to become better, if they make a mistake, hope they learn from it and grow. At first I was a Francis fan but now I don't ship either Bash or Francis but knowing Mary was going to end up with Francis, I do want them to work so hopefully this will make them stronger and that they don't end up like Henry and Catherine.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm sorry, I cannot reason with someone that's so set into fangirling a character that seems to be completely unable to see anything besides him/her's POV. I believe I answered some of what you wrote on other posts, if you're interested in anybody's POV other than your's go ahead and read, but from what I've read of your "opinions" on this and previous posts of Reign, I doubt it, since you don't seem to consider any opiniĆ³n that diverges from yours.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That's half the fun, giving the character you like the benefit of the doubt and see them grow and become better, because who doesn't like a good redemption storie, but the justifications you read here are definitelly getting ridiculous. This is the same reason why I became a closet Damon fan, because other Damon fans have the need to justify the unjustfyable and grew tired of it.
At first I too was a Francis fan and a Frary shipper, but now I've decided I won't ship anyone and will hope for the best outcome to whoever she's with. As I see it, by the end of the season Henry will be dead, Francis and Mary will be King and Queen, and somewhere down the line Francis will die, as history dictates, and Mash shippers will have their momento too. That is, if the show makes it that far.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Certainly no way to start a marriage, lol! My guess is Mary will have trouble conceiving while Lola gives birth to a son, and that will lead to lots of drama, as if there wasn't enough. I just wish that, since they along with the wedding, they would've given Frary at least one episode of wedded bliss...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh, I never claimed otherwise. It's just that Francis actions have make him easier to dislike than Bash, that's all. In my opinion, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah I would have definitely enjoyed it if we could have seen some of their honeymoon away from court. Or show us one moment the last episode with Mary and Francis happy besides in the carriage ride. It was all of a sudden, BAM! Back from honeymoon and we have lies, trust issues, jealousy. Agreed, I can also easily see Mary getting jealous of Lola for being able to have Francis child. If Lola doesn't loose it. I could see where her loosing the baby would bring Mary and Lola closer together. One who can't conceive a child and another who lost a child and Mary comforting Francis could bring them closer together also. I kinda hope if they do have Lola have the kid it'd be a girl. I like Mary and Lola having a boy now that would be way too rough! Too much drama!

    ReplyDelete
  36. It would've been nice indid to see, at least, part of their honeymoon. But nowadays shows move too quickly in some aspects and too slowly on others...
Not that I want the unnecesary baby drama, but since they went along with the storyline, I hope they don't take the easy way out now with a miscarriage. On a more adult show, I could see the potential for character development, but I'm not sure the CW can pull off that kind of complex drama. I would like for it to be a girl though, that would soften things up a bit, she wouldn't be considered much of threat since Mary could always have the firstborn son and heir. By the way, how far along is Lola? I ask, because women are less likely to miscarry once they're past their first trimester. But this is TV, so probably everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I want to say Lola is two months along, I think they mentioned how long their honeymoon was and that would be around how far she is in her pregnancy. In history Mary never had a child with Francis. Of course they are adding their own ideas to this story, but like Henry dieing, Mary being with Francis and Francis eventually dieing, they are main events in Mary's story and if they make her have a child, I don't know how I feel about that. I mean, I would want her to, but you can't pick and choose which historical events you want to and not happen. But yeah, probably won't have Lola miscarry but they could have her fall or trip. Clarissa is still around so if she perceives Lola and the baby as a threat to Mary who knows what she'll do.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah, I figured she was between 8 and 10 weeks along. TBH, I don't think Mary and Francis will have a child. The writers sure like to take their creative liscences, but they seem to be sticking to historical events such as their marriage, the King going mad is probably linked to his future death, and if he diez by the end of this season, maybe Francis will die by the end of next, unless they keep him longer because of fan reception, it wouldn't be the first time. So, I don't think their is a baby in their future either.
Regarding Clarissa, I just hope they don't use her just as a plot devise, and since she's already responsible for the death of one of Mary's Ladies, I'm not sure they'll go that way again, although TV shows love to rehash sotrylines so it's always a possibility, albeit a repetitive one.
