NBC opened the week with another clean Monday sweep, beating distant No. 2 ABC by 57 percent in the household overnights. Two-hours of “The Voice” topped the night with a 9.0 rating/13 share from 8-10 p.m., peaking in the 9:30 p.m. half-hour with a 9.5/14. And it led into bona fide freshman hit “The Blacklist” at a 7.0/12 at 10 p.m., which beat the competition — “Castle” on ABC (5.5/ 9) and recent entry “Intelligence” on CBS (3.9/ 6) – by 27 percent and 79 percent, respectively. Comparably, this was the highest overnight rating for “The Backlist” since its fall season-finale on Dec. 2. See you in season two…and beyond…James Spader.
Over at ABC, 90-minutes of “The Bachelor” was on the map with a 6.1/ 9 from 8-9:30 p.m., which increased by seven percent from the 5.7/ 9 for the two-hour edition one week earlier. But an encore of the pilot episode of sitcom “Mixology” fell off the charts with a mere 2.4/ 4 at 9:30 p.m. Aforementioned “Castle” closed the night for the alphabet net at a second-place 5.5/ 9 at 10 p.m.
On CBS, the two-hour sitcom block — “How I Met Your Mother” (#2t: 6.1/ 9), “2 Broke Girls” (#3: 5.7/ 8), “Mike & Molly” (#2t, 6.0/ 9) and “Mom” (#2: 5.7/ 9) – was successfully consistent. And the overnight retention of 95 percent for “Mom” out of “Mike & Molly” means that a second season renewal is a sure thing. But aforementioned drama “Intelligence” remains the weak spot at a 3.9/ 6 at 10 p.m. If CBS does move forward on the proposed new spin-off from “CSI,” the long-term former success of “CSI: Miami” in the Monday 10 p.m. hour should not be forgotten.
In season (or series) finale news, freshman Fox drama “Almost Human” scored a typical 4.1/ 6 in the overnights from 8-9 p.m., which was 25 percent below year-ago occupant “Bones” (5.5/ 8 on 3/04/13). Next was diluted “The Following” at a fourth-place 3.6/ 5 at 9 p.m., which dropped by a hefty 36 percent from the 5.6/ 8 on the year-ago evening.
In week three news, CW drama “Star-Crossed” scored a 0.9/ 1 (#5) at 8 p.m., which was actually 12 percent above the anemic 0.8/ 1 one week earlier. And it led into a 0.7/ 1 (#5) for sure-to-be-axed “Beauty and the Beast” at 9 p.m.
In late night, the third Monday of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on NBC remained well above the competition with a 4.2/11 in the overnights from 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Comparably, that was just seven percent below the 4.5/12 on the week-ago Monday. Next was “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC at a 2.5/ 6 (+19 percent from one week earlier), followed by “The Late Show With David Letterman” at a 2.0/ 5 (- 9).
The second Monday of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” won the 12:30-1:30 a.m. hour, with a 2.0/7. Comparably, that was 23 percent below the 2.6/ 9 for its debut one week earlier. Next was “Nightline” on ABC at a 1.6/ 5 (+14), followed by “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS at a consistent 1.0/ 3).

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
